  1. Oh, logical problems is one of my strengths! Let's see. Three white hats and two black hats? Prisoner #1 can see two hats but can't tell the colour of his own, thus BOTH prisoners in front of him can't have black hats. (If they did, then he himself would have a white hat by default: there are only two black hats) Prisoner #2 can also see two hats and still can't tell the colour of his own. But Prisoner #2 also knows that if Prisoner #3 had been wearing a black hat, his own hat would have had to be white, or else Prisoner #1 would have known the colour of his hat (still only two black hats, remember?). Prisoner #3 knows the colour of his hat to be WHITE because otherwise Prisoner #2 would have been able to tell the colour of his own hat.
  2. I'm not sure if it was Italy doing the wrong thing or Sweden doing the right thing, but I do remember that Sweden upped the tempo once they got Jonson/K
  3. WHAT?! DO I SMELL AMERICANS PLANNING TO DOMINATE THE WORLD IN THIS THREAD? Hrmm, I don't seen any. I must have been mistaken. *moving along*
  4. Maybe if the darksaber was like a black hole? An incredibly thin black hole stretched out like a sword? I think a black lightsaber would be really neat if it wasn't glowing around the edges, but instead it looked like it was consuming the light around it, making whatever it has in the background darker around the black blade. I can already imagine the violent, destroying sound it would make as you swirled it around you
  5. Nice. A bit short, but nice. Too bad the Obsidian crew still seem to feel gagged by.. someone. A few questions were left unanswered. Again. Oh well.
  6. What happened if you put a flower in the oven?
  7. Uhm.. In the swedish Computer Science Programs the calculus and linear algebra courses are the basic math courses. Actually, those are the first two courses you read. Then comes discreet mathematics, differential equations, "flervariabelanalys" (I wonder what that translates to) and thoeretical linear algebra. Those are the math courses I have under my belt. So far.
  8. I never saw a reply to this guess. Was it correct?
  9. Ok, the match is over. Italy - Sweden 1-1. Italy dominated the first 80 (!) minutes and the last 5.. But Sweden has Zlatan and he scored an unbelievable goal, using his heel in an impossible angle to score. The result wasn't fair, and Sweden should consider themselves lucky to get away with one point in this game. Damn. Before this game (and right after Sweden - Bulgaria) it really felt like the Swedish game had been greatly improved. But against Italy we again showed our old playing style. Sigh. The Great Danes await on tuesday. At least all we have to do is grab a point in that game and we're through for the next round.
  10. Shine is about a young man who struggles to learn how to play Rachmaninov perfectly, but it ends up driving him insane. "In London, David (Helfgott) is mentored by Cecil Parkes and learns to play Rachmaninoff's Third Piano Concerto, one of the most difficult piano pieces to play, even for a master. David plays this piece perfectly in concert, but suffers an emotional breakdown as a result." Apparently David Helfgott is a substandard piano player who was put in the limelight by a movie that's supposed to depict his life. It doesn't though and his fame is uncalled for. But it was a good movie anyhow.
  11. There's a german version of ALICE called Jabberwock. They hold an AI competition every year and in 2003 this one won ahead of ALICE among others. I'm sure you're not stupid and will realize this yourself, but click on the speech bubble to start the conversation with Jabberwock (for everyone else who wants to try it and doesn't understand german). http://www.abenteuermedien.de/jabberwock/ Edit: Oops, didn't realize every bot was listed in the link in the post above. Sorry.
  12. Uhm.. then you have no experience. You try fighting with your.. ding dong swinging in the wind. Not a pleasant feeling, let me tell you. Hotpants (a little gay, I know) and boots is what the guys in MMA wears when they fight. I am sure they wouldn't prefer to be naked if they could.
  13. Rachmaninov?! Uhm.. you'd better watch "Shine" before you go and do something stupid with Rachmaninov..
  14. If armour hinders a Jedi from using his/her force powers, shouldn't armor then protect people from Jedi's trying to use the force on them?
  15. "RPG Dot - The best site for general CRPG news. Very fan, rather than hype, centred." Haha, that's a nice way of saying "amateurish" Ps. Did I mention your site lacks p0rn?
  16. I wonder what they are thinking when they decide to not tell the fans anything? Is someone at LucasArts going "We'd better not tell anyone anything or they'll feel like they've already play the game and won't buy it later"? The more interaction I can have with the developers of a game, the more interested I become. Unless, of course it's Rockstar.. They're like clams (not even screenshots for crying out loud!) but I'm still interested.
  17. You are a strange, tiny guy.. With long hair. But I do like your music. The front page could use some work (perhaps a glamour shot of you by the piano?) but otherwise it's an informative page. I didn't find any links on the link page though?
  18. Human: what do you think of Obsidian Entertainment? ALICE: I have never been asked that before. Human: so what do you think of them? ALICE: Hmm. I have never been asked that before. Human: so you said, but you still haven't expressed your opinion.. ALICE: Interesting deduction. That's not what I meant. Human: so what did you mean? ALICE: Ugh. unknown person, Well, it's rather difficult to define. Human: no, it's not, you either like them or you don't ALICE: Are you serious? That seems a bit negative. Human: so you don't like them? ALICE: Interesting deduction. Do you like it?" they"? Do I like them? Human: Obsidian is developing KotOR 2 right now ALICE: At this moment And developing KotOR 2 is Obsidian. It can't make references to things said earlier in the discussion, it doesn't even try to have an opinion and it doesn't seem to have a database for storing information, thus it isn't learning as it goes along. I wouldn't call it AI, but more like a Zork word parser.
  19. "An eye for an eye makes the whole world blind" - Mahatma Gandhi Someone has to break the circle of violence, but it will take an entire generation to do so. The hatred is inherited.
  20. It's deeper than that, but thats how it starts: DVD story Good! Then my 8x DVD-burner won't feel outdated for a few more months..
  21. What happened to the Sears towers? Nothing, in fact. And it's tower, not towers. Singular. http://www.sears-tower.com/
  22. Are you trying to tell me KotOR2 isn't a platformer??
  23. yea, but it can't be just for the rhyme I thought both day and life worked better. Agh, sorry but english is only my third language! I did write, however, that it might have been farfetched..
  24. Where can I read about this ALICE project? It sounds highly interesting. Nevermind, I think I found it: Human: how do you define normal? ALICE: Typical, average, usual, ordinary or expected. Human: then noone's normal ALICE: Interesting deduction. How old are you? Human: that wasn't a deduction, it was a fact ALICE: What is a deduction it was a fact? Human: what do you think of the american school system? ALICE: I have to process that one for a while. Hrmm..
  25. Well, we all do what we're capable of, I guess. Keep it up, you're doing a great job!
