The NHL Thread.
He's having an off season (compared to his stellar seasons). Noone's saying he's bad, but he's down from 92% to 90%, thus good just not great. And you're hanging onto Star of the Week to prove your point. A week. How's that for "wishy washy"? Good to see him regaining his form in time for the Olympics though. Less than a month away now (Sweden plays their first game on Feb 12)!

The NHL Thread.
Sweden has the not so pleasant problem of barely being able to fill the Olympic roster with good NHL pro's. I like Zetterberg, Bäckström, the Sedin twins and Erik Karlsson (young d-man in Ottawa). But other than that? Loui Eriksson and Alexander Steen both have concussions. I kind of like Niklas Kronwall, but uh.. he's no Lidström. Lundkvist.. I don't know. He hasn't been his old brilliant self in a while. Maybe he needs something like the Olympics to bring back the fire? At least it's a pretty young team (with the exception of Daniel Alfredsson). And it will be fun to see Jimmie Ericsson, a late bloomer from the SHL, compete against the best in the world.

What are you playing now?
Read about Spelunky. Saw that it was GOTY in several publications. Tried it. Didn't get it. Just another platformer?

Sorry I was gone so long 2.
I thought it looked like a mushroom (specifically "kantarell") mutating into something with legs and a face.

What you did today
I just want to add that me and baldy do not compete for the same types of females. How's that for passive aggressive?

The general firearms thread!
Just to add one more vote: when I did my army service, we got to test shoot the Swedish AK-4 and AK-5, the American M-16 and the Russian AK-47. They felt different, they handled differently and they absolutely sounded very different. The M-16 had very strange sights and was a bitch to clean. I shot my best series with this weapon (100 m, lying down). The AK-4 was overkill, kicks like a horse (30-06..) and was easy to clean but got dirty faster than any other rifle (yes, including the infamous AK-47). The AK-5 was our standard weapon, not much to say about it. Good rifle. The AK-47 sounded exactly like every video game assault rifle you've ever heard. Other than that, it wasn't anything special.

What are you playing now?
Steam told me there's a new multi-player mod for Just Cause 2 so I re-installed the game.. and, uh.. now I'm stuck blowing stuff up in the single player campaign. Didn't even download the mod. What happened?

What are you playing now?
I bought Avernum: Escape From the Pit in the sale, so I've been playing that. I must say that I'm pleasantly surprised. I played Exile 3 (I think it was) many years ago and always thought Spiderweb's games lacked.. soul (or something). But this game oozes soul! It has surprisingly good writing (which, to me, means I bother to read descriptions and dialogue instead of just clicking past it..), perfectly passable graphics, a very slick interface and good game mechanics. It's really old school, but they've cut away the most blatantly stupid things of the past and replaced them with modern systems. You create a party of four unfortunate souls who are all thrown into Avernum (a big cave underneath the real world that acts like a prison) and from then on it's up to you to survive and escape. Turn based combat, lots of quests, riddles, problems, secrets, and lore. I love how you hear things about the world in inns and towns and that these rumours then tie into the quests later. I'm not very far into the game so far, but I'm having lots of fun. It's a difficult game but in a challenging way more than an unfair way.

laptop requirement, help needed
Well, you could always get a Macbook, or.. you could not be a complete idiot and buy a real computer instead. Like one of the Zenbooks by Asus. Since you're Walsingham, money is no problem, so I would suggest the Asus Zenbook UX301: 1,2 kg 13,3 inch touchscreen, 2560x1440 resolution Core i7 CPU (2,8 GHz Haswell) with Intel HD Graphics 5100 512 GB SSD (256 + 256 RAID0) 8 GB DDR3 Thinner and lighter than a Macbook Air, stronger and faster than a Macbook Pro. Can be yours for a mere $2000.

Obsidian's (rumoured) next kickstarter, what would you want to see?
Should have added real time combat as an option. Like in Deus Ex; Fallout: New Vegas and the like.

Sorry I was gone so long
I love that he has the same hair in his face as the rest of his body. Even the head.
