  1. I'm still playing the Misery 2.02 mod of Stalker: Call of Pripyat. I wish they made more games like these, then I wouldn't have to play this incredibly stupid mod.
  2. I loved Bully. One of Rockstar's finest.
  3. I would have suggested this bad boy (McLaren MP4-12c )
  4. Pfft. I'm a taker, not a giver.
  5. Don't worry about that, that's what we are here for! And I actually enjoy reading about it too. It's like a little drama series: what will happen next? Will he find a better job? Will the boss break down and quit? Will Labadal finally get laid for the second time this century?! It's all very exhilarating.
  6. I pay $60/month for my unlimited 100Mb/s ISP. Installation was free and came with a surprisingly good wireless router. ... Not that Steam seems to care about my speed. Sometimes I get like 300 KB/s and sometimes 15 MB/s.
  7. Wait. So you think the typical Rockstar fashion is "ridiculously boring". You didn't like GTA4. You didn't like LA Noire. You didn't like Red Dead Redemption. Why the **** are you buying Rockstar games? Why the **** are you even talking about GTA5?
  8. I bought Delver on a whim (it looked interesting) and I was going to write that that's what I'm playing now, except.. I went to the bottom, got the orb and reached the surface in my first game. In 87 minutes. Those 7 € suddenly felt very expensive. I am aware that it's an Early Access title though, so I am hoping it is fleshed out a lot in the coming months. The graphics are otherwise very cute, the entire game reminds me of Ultima Underworld (although much simpler), the controls are great (though some remnants of touch screen controls remain) and it has the potential to be a great little first-person rogue-like.
  9. Wow. Resident Evil 4 is one of the best games ever made. Great joke, I guess. I'm playing Misery 2.02 right now, as a matter of fact. It does not have "proper survival mechanics" (how do you even come up with your ridiculous expressions?). It has some cool new features (mainly RPG features), but the survival mechanics part of it are not improvements. It's like a bunch of clueless kids have taken a great game and decided that if you make enemies hit you through complete darkness, while running, with their assault rifles on full auto, from 150-200 meters distance.. then it's survival horror. Or if you construct an "economy" where 15 bullets cost 1000 rubles to buy, a gun gives you 50-200 rubles when you sell it and food rations cost 22000 rubles.. you haven't actually made "proper survival mechanics", you've made an unbalanced mod with a ridiculously broken economy that invites grinding. The funny thing is that it's not actually harder or more difficult (which seems to be the main reason this mod was made, so the kids can call themselves hardcore). It's just unfair now, which means you'll need to start using unfair tactics yourself.
  10. Yes, they do. But they also answered a direct "NO" when fans and journalists asked if they have any Gothic projects going on. I suspect they are under contract for a certain number of Risen games. They might also believe that Forsaken Gods and Arcania: A Gothic Tale caused irreparable damage to the Gothic brand. Personally I don't think the Gothic brand was ever that strong to begin with. Let's face it, Gothic is kind of a crappy name. Not Divine Divinity levels of crappy, but still. We will see. It's been almost 1,5 years since they last released anything (Risen 2, April 2012) so they should be ready to announce something new soon.
  11. Gothic 3 was not finished when it was released. They did however finish it later with the help of the community. Gothic 3 Community Patch 1.75: http://www.madvulture.de/wp/media Don't play it without the patch.
  12. Some eager fans have discovered signs of Risen 3 in the Steam database: http://www.worldofrisen.de/?section=newsdetail&id=1899 They entries have had their names changed now, but they were originally listed as DLC for Risen 3, numbered 4-6. I'm pretty sure no-one except me and maybe three other people in the world cares. But there it is.
  13. ..and there ends my Misery 2.02 playthrough. The game crashed while I was in a shootout somewhere. I tried to reload the latest save, but it crashes before even entering the game. So I tried my next newest save (which is annoying in and of itself) and it, too, crashes before even launching into the game. The third latest save is an auto-save three hours back. No thanks. This experience has reminded my why I hate mods and never, ever use them.
  14. I loved the Stalker games (played through all of them), but they're the kind of games that I just can't replay.. ever. But I installed the Misery 2.02 mod and it's.. interesting. It's incredibly annoying when you meet a bunch of ordinary bandits and they all need three headshots to put down, all the while they keep hitting you from 200 meters while walking and firing their assault rifles.. on automatic. Then, if you survive, you go to loot them and they have nothing. No ammo, no armour only sometimes a really worn down (thus useless) assault rifle. Yes, the game is more difficult, but I'm not sure if they improved it or unbalanced it. It just doesn't feel very fair.
  15. Dude, step away from the mirror
  16. I saw those #CandyGirl videos before. They can give a rock a boner. You have been warned.
  17. YES YOU DO, ANCIENT ME
  18. You mean like playing the scarred amnesiac the Nameless One in Planescape: Torment?
  19. Except you'll be seeing more loading screens than game. I hated it.
  20. Yojimbo, 8.3/10 on IMDb: http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0055630/?ref_=sr_1 Ran, 8.3/10 on IMDb: http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0089881/?ref_=fn_al_tt_1 Can't we just agree that Akira Kurosawa was a genius?
  21. My Van Helsing game came to a skidding halt due to lack of player skill. IIRC, Im maxed out on the character level (30) but I came up against some guy driving a huge robot that I just cant beat. That and it feels like playing a ranged character is kind of a waste since all enemies employ the same strategy to simply bum rush you and overwhelm you with numbers. Need to pick it up and try a few more times. I remember that fight. Huge difficulty spike right there. I just ran in as big of a circle as the playing area allowed and kept hitting the little mob spawners around the edges and avoided the giant robot's jump attack. When all the spawners (there are plenty) were destroyed, I cleaned up the little mobs before concentrating on the big guy. It took a while, but it is doable.
  22. But Eurogamer agrees!
  23. Ok, enough with the green..thingies. Where are all the scantily clad ladies?! Wait.. is this the wrong thread?
  24. This dude was the most popular. I thought they would kill me when I spontaneously burst out into "Dude looks like a lady".
