  1. I only tried the Xbox 360 demo, but it was.. interesting. I would love to play more, but didn't feel it was worth getting it on a console, with the framerates so low and resolution so lacking. I will buy it on PC as soon as it gets keyboard and mouse controls.
  2. My Xiaomi is easily the best phone I've owned so far. Also the only phone where complete strangers have actually come up to me to ask what kind of phone I have. Which would be a lot cooler if it was ever cute girls, but nooo.. always men.
  3. Try getting a package from DHL without signing for it. I dare you.
  4. I'll take a pic from my gym later this week, Woldan, to show the real reason why you should not train at home.
  5. Then you report that you didn't get your phone and they return your money.
  6. This discussion becomes so utterly pathetic when one side can't even admit she has been toned down. Why is this even a discussion? She used to be a Playboy model, now she's a school teacher. That's an order of magnitude's difference.
  7. where do you people get such good deals? the only one I could find online here is a used Mi2A for 450$ I bought mine here: http://www.dhgate.com/product/original-xiaomi-mi2s-snapdragon-600-quad/167395514.html#s1-2-1|1875440434 $397,46 with shipping to Sweden. Probably the same shipping price to Finland. It wasn't that exact seller, but through DHgate. DHgate is a proxy, meaning that you send the money to DHgate, the seller sends the phone to you. When you confirm that you have gotten the phone and everything is OK, then DHgate releases the money to the seller. Makes it relatively fraud safe.
  8. If I hold it normally, normal. If I pinch it between my head and my shoulder: lousy. Same if I try to talk in it while lying in my bed while resting it on my pillow. I think it has something to do with the noise cancellation. It uses two mics to reduce noise and somehow I manage to cover one of them (never found the other one).
  9. Oh, and I ditched my Motorola Defy back in May and bought this: Xiaomi MI2S. Same size as iPhone 5, but with a Snapdragon 600 (4 cores, 1,7 GHz), Krait 320 GPU, 2 GB RAM, 1280x720 IPS screen, 8MP superfast camera with 28mm, 2.0F wide-angle (records movies with 90 fps in 1280x720) and an interface based on Android 4.1.2 called MIUI. It's really excellent. Huuuge leap forward over my smelly Defy. It cost me $400, imported directly from China. Amazing value. It's actually faster than Galaxy S4 and HTC One in tests (they have the same innards), but mainly because of the smaller screen. Still!
  10. ..and this is why I like them: http://www.hardocp.com/article/2013/11/04/amd_radeon_r9_290_video_card_review/ Faster than the GTX780 but $100 cheaper. Loud, powerhungry and fast. Lovely!
  11. Yeah, that horrible one hour time zone difference between Sweden and Finland is a real killer.
  12. Our office printer broke down a couple of months ago, and instead of repairing it we just ordered a new one (it's from 2008 so I figure they didn't think it was worth repairing it). Since then it's just been standing in a corner in the office, gathering dust. A few days ago I googled the error message that pops up on the screen of the printer. Turns out that the error message is worse than the actual fault. You only need to replace one part to get it going again, and it takes like five seconds to do this. So I looked around a bit in the office storage. Found two black original toners (unopened) and one of each of the three colours (all original, unopened). Checked the internet, found out that these toners last for 8000 pages (the black ones 10000 pages) and cost around $250-300 each. Checked the printer's info, and it still has 3500 pages of black left, 6000+ pages of magenta and more than 90% left on the other two colours. I asked my office manager what they were planning to do with the printer and he said "Recycle it". So I asked if I could take it home instead. He said yes. Yesterday I found the part that is worn out on a webshop. It cost $285, but I figured it's worth it and ordered it. Tonight I installed the printer on my home wi-fi, and it works flawlessly (except that I can't yet print anything on it). I can reach it from all my computers and I can even print from my phone. Oh, and my company has been bought by another company so we have to change logos. That means we had a lot of glossy, high quality paper that needed exchanging. I brought home 5000 sheets of this paper. Sure, it has our old logo on one side, but still.. excellent quality, and free. So.. tomorrow I will (probably) be the proud owner of a colour laser printer that can print 22 colour pages per minute (albeit at only 600 dpi, but I saw what it can do and it's good enough for me) and has the capacity to print tens of thousands of pages before it needs anything (the part I ordered is supposed to last for 100,000 pages..) I think I'll start by printing out every picture from KaineParker's attractive women thread. Because I can. It's a little big..
  13. I'm still in awe from how good the Leafs are playing right now. I saw it coming last season already, but still.. Let's just hope they can keep it up all season.
  14. But.. those are my favourites too! [i was going to post a pic, but I know LadyCrimson would have a heart attack if I did]
  15. Finished How to Survive. Definitely worth the small money. It annoys me that I missed two herbarium plants (found 18/20), but other than that I'm done with the game. Fun while it lasted.
  16. Yeah.. they all have manly features.
  17. I know it's awful. Like, I am sick or go on vacation and I still get paid just the same like the rest of my friends that make salaries in other jobs. Also, when my boss says "Allan, I noticed you were working late a couple of days last month. Do you need some help with your tasks? I don't want you getting burnt out." That and the other annoying things like RRSP contribution matching, reimbursements for buying gaming software and hardware (EA gave me money for contributing to Project Eternity). Never mind that they still feed me when I do work late. Or that time that I sustained a serious concussion playing ball hockey and was bed ridden for 2 weeks with post concussion symptoms and they said "don't worry about work or money. Just worry about getting better" and accommodating the 2 weeks of half days after that as I slowly got better. Or when my personal life went into shambles in early 2012 with huge fractures in my social structure and I was given free access to a professional to help me through that. I'm sure many people in sweatshops look over at me and go "dude, we're totally the same." But I'm sure pre-EA BioWare was a beacon of proper working hours and non-"sweatshop" conditions, right? Fans don't care about employee working conditions in the slightest, all they care about is whether or not they like the game. Plenty of people here that enjoy games that are oblivious to the fact that they were made on an 80 hour work week for over a year with epic employee attrition after the fact when they realize it's not sustainable long term. Yeah, I'm sure you work in a ****ing paradise. Please tell us about the free BJ's they give you at lunch time too.
  18. You are looking at the wrong old-school game. THIS is the game you're looking for: http://basiliskgames.com/eschalon-book-iii It will even come with a game editor this time. I can barely wait!
  19. Shut up! Two Worlds was awesome! It was like armour-Pokemon: gotta collect'em all!
  20. Is that a yeti climbing a fence on a starry night?? You really caught the essence of it, Prosper!
  21. I bought a game called How To Survive on a whim (30% off from an already low price certainly helped). It's yet another one of those survival zombie games, but I don't mind as long as they are fun. You start the game by waking up on an island, armed with a stick. From there on out you kill zombies, craft your own equipment and try to escape the island(s). You find a few NPC's along the way who gives you quests and survival tips. The ground is littered with stuff and you run into blueprints for new equipment to craft regularly. I'm having great fun with this little game. Ranged combat has seldom felt so..satisfying as it does in How To Survive. It also has a co-op mode but I have no friends
  22. I'm actually going to wait a month or so. I was in the store with my wallet in hand, but then I started talking to this cute girl (she works there) and she reminded me that I would have to live with the stock cooler because they're not getting the vendor's special cards until a month or so from now. Hmm.. Maybe a Gigabyte Windforce.
  23. Not good enough! Can't you at least lie and tell me it shrivels my balls and kills my houseplants?
  24. Anandtech has reviewed an early R9 290X: http://anandtech.com/show/7457/the-radeon-r9-290x-review/ It basically beats or matches the Nvidia Titan in every test available, while starting at around $549 or so. Now.. someone give me a few reasons why I don't need this card right now, because my brain stopped functioning at the sight of those lovely graphs.
