  1. I believe the consciousness is nothing more than atoms and molecules sitting in a certain enery level at just that time, and that our conscience (and our bodies) are forever changing and evolving (or aging). There is no soul, there is no mind, there is nothing beyond the organic machine we call a body. Therefore the clone teleporter would make an exact copy of you in one moment, and a tiny moment thereafter the exact copy of you would appear in another part of the world, while the first you would disappear (probably to provide material for the next traveller appearing in your pod). Since every molecule in our body has been exchaned several times in our lifetime by natural means, teleporting through cloning has no effect on what we call "you" (the person you). We are not static ever, the cloning teleportation would simply copy us to another part of the world and change our molecules faster than the natural way could ever do. We would remain exactly the same though (in person), except for being made of all new molecules and atoms.
  2. That feeling of mass is what I refer to as sluggish controls. As if everything you did took a split second longer than it had to. It wasn't really slow, just slower.
  3. I hope not. I didn't like it in Thief 3, I didn't like it in the Dark Messiah of Might & Magic demo and I probably wouldn't like it in Bioshock. Having "body awareness" in a game, to me, translates into "sluggish controls". Not a good thing.
  4. Gaming performance comparison between Abit AW9D-MAX and Asus P5W DH Deluxe... The Abit also overclocks better, but at the level these boards reach their limit.. well, let's just say that my overclocking skills usually reach their limit long before the boards hit theirs.
  5. Cool.. then the machine could also fix all the genetic problems you might have in your genetic code. Like, if you have any genetic defects that might be inherited by your child (if you combine your genetic code with a woman with the same genetic flaw), the machine would recognize them and remove them. You could, for an extra fee of course, make the machine change your hair colour during your rebuild process. You start the travel with black hair. A time later, you'll have blonde hair in your new destination! Very practical.
  6. Yeah, I am expecting Gothic 3 to demand a Core 2 Duo X6800, 2 GB superfast DDR2 RAM and two Ati X1950XTX in Crossfire to run properly. Piranha Bytes have stated that if your computer can handle Oblivion, it can handle Gothic 3, but I'm not so sure.
  7. I checked out that new movie. Apparently the voice-overs were made by the same team that did the Call of Duty 2 and Doom 3 voice-overs, plus some added Hollywood talent. Sounds good! Hopefully they didn't use the same voice for the dragons, one of the nameless hero's best friend's and the paladin's high advisor this time
  8. You've been gay for a few months and already you're a sugar-daddy ... nice! ^_^ Uhm.. What did I miss? How the hell did Lucius suddenly become a "skinkryttare" in just a few months? I thought he was just an extraordinarily bitter dane..?
  9. My favourite webshop usually does that too. Everytime I have preordered something from them, I've gotten it a few days ahead of the official release date. Basically, that's what I am paying for. Preorders in Sweden seldom give you anything else.
  10. *snore* ..Uh, what, who summoned me?!
  11. Oh crap, maybe we laughed too soon: http://www.gdhardware.com/hardware/network.../review/001.htm AND IT'S EXPENSIVE TOO!
  12. Ok, my day got suckier. It started with me calling the shop where I bought the PSU I still haven't gotten six weeks earlier and asked them if they had gotten the damn thing yet. They said no. So I told them I want my money back and that I would look elsewhere for the same PSU. They said ok. So I spent my lunchbreak trying to find someone else who sells the same thing and I managed to find it in a webshop. It was even cheaper than what I had originally paid for it. So I ordered it, waited one hour and then called their support to see if they really had it in stock or if they, too, were lying. They had already sent it. I happily worked out the remainder of the day and on my way home I stopped by the shop that failed to get me my PSU to get my money back. When I enter the store, one of the owners recognizes me and says, "I know what you are here for!" and before I have time to reply he rushes up some stairs. A few seconds later he comes down the stairs with his arms full of PSU's. Smiling, he places the pile of PSU's on the desk in front of me and I am confronted with the decision to either swallow my pride and accept their atrocious service or wait another week for the webshop to deliver the PSU. I chose the extra week and got my money back IN CASH. Then I went jogging and my knee started hurting. When I got back I tried to cook for my girlfriend (Get away from her, finns! Yes, you, Kirottu!) but someone had eaten all the rice so halfway into my cooking I run out of ingredients and had to run to the store. My cooking went bad, but my girlfriend valiantly ate it anyhow. Now I'm too tired to take a shower. HAH!
  13. Weren't there a group in Oblivoin called the Knights of the White Stallion already..? I have a vague recollection of joining some weird following in the town farthest to the south, in the swamplike areas (forgot the name of it). I am most probably mistaken though. But I do remember doing menial tasks for some king-like character and getting a shield (or some such) as a reward. Plus I got to enter a cabin outside of town that worked as sort of a club house.
  14. There's some sort of plastic trend going around in graphic artists brains right now. Bioshock has it (in abundance!) and Gothic 3 has it (not as much, but still annoying). I wish someone would tell those damn artists: "NOT COOL!".
  15. Do you have enormous amounts of chesthair that you have to wax regularly so your nipples fall off too?
  16. I wish I was as clever and smart as you guys. Then I could play this game and fulfill my lifelong dream of turning Finland into a gigantic brothel..
  17. Your car's generator is broken. Anyhow, I ordered a PSU for my computer five weeks ago. I still haven't gotten it. Today I phoned a consumer guide lawyer (or something like that) and asked her what I can demand of the company that has kept telling me "it will be here.. tomorrow.." for the last five weeks. I can demand my money back. Nothing else. SO basically, they've stolen five weeks of potential gaming/working/surfing/internet porn from me, and I can't demand anything from them, except my own money back. That pisses me off. Excuse me, I have to go and buy some gasoline. I have a building to burn.

Peter Forsberg has been talking abuot his newly operated on feet. Or foot. Apparently he's been skating without outer tendons in one of his feet since 2000 or 2001. That made the entire foot bend upwards, making his foot resemble a U turned upside down. In the end, before the operation, he was down to skates size 7 (he's usually a 9 or 10 guy) and because of how his foot looked, he had to change to new skates after every game because the skate couldn't take the stress and broke. I've always thought of Forsberg as injury prone (duh) and whiny, but if that's true than maybe I'll remove the whiny title at least. Now let's see if he can play more than 60 games this season..
  19. I own the special DVD version of the Riddick game! In it, you get commentaries from the developers along the way, kind of like hidden bonuses scattered all over the gameworld. It's awesome, believe it or not. They made it so smart that it's the first time I've wanted to replay a game just to see the hidden commentaries and stuff. I don't think that was included in the vanilla version, right..?
  20. I just want my own pet finn. Is that too much to ask?!
  21. I distinctly remember running backwards, avoiding their attacks, all the while waving my sword frantically in front of me. Usually the damn creatures died, but not before leaving their bitemarks all over my body (meaning low hp, lots of armour damage).
  22. I never got to play the system myself. None of my friends had one and I was a C-64 geek at the time. Consoles were for kids (still are..). I still remember two games that I really wished I had gotten to play though: D-2: D2 combines classical survival horror exploration and first person combat with a RPG typical experience/level system. You play the mysterious heroine Laura, stranded in a vast snowy landscape after a plane crash and struck with amnesia about the last 10 days. The 3d engine allows you to freely move around the world, pilot snow mobiles, hunt for food or even capture photos. You will meet a variety of people and have to fight gruesome creatures and dangerous monsters. As the story advances you slowly regain your memory and unfold a terrifying plot about the end of the world. Shenmue: It was free-form, it had incredible visuals and it seemed like the game of my dreams. Unfortunately, it first appeared on the one system I just couldn't seem to get a hold of. I am still sometimes thinking of buying an old Dreamcast system and hunt down these games, just to get those teenage ghosts out of my head.
  23. Sometimes it feels like Obsidian (and any other software development company) is like a McDonald's: employees come and go so fast that noone even bothers to learn their names.
  24. The orc with the sheep fetish is found when you go to the castle in the old valley. If you played Gothic, you'll know where the old arena was (it is burnt down to the ground in Gothic 2), just outside the besieged castle. If you go to the entrance of the arena (or what's left of it) there's a dark room to the left. You'll hear some strange noises coming from there if you walk past (it's what made me look) and if you go inside you'll find the orc and the sheep in a.. compromising situation. The orc attacks as soon as he spots you though.
  25. I only know that Xbox 360 games here in Sweden are 100 SEK more expensive than Playstation 2/Gamecube/Xbox games are (they all cost exactly the same, for some annoying reason). Supposedly, the Playstation 3 games will match those high Xbox 360 prices, and sometimes even outdo them. Go Sony go.
