When I first found the sheep-loving orc in Gothic 2, it really made my chin drop. I couldn't believe what I was seeing. There was nothing like that in Jade Empire.

What should Kaftan, Mkreku and Checkpoin vote for?
mkreku replied to Kaftan Barlast's topic in Way Off-Topic
I have to vote red/left! My job depends on it! If the righties win, they will undo everything the lefties have accomplished. I was hired through ACCESS, which is a project to give unemployed academics (those who have a degree from a university) jobs. I got this great job through that project and I'm afraid that if the "wrong" party wins the elections, I'll lose it! HELP HELP. I guess it's G -
The only person really close to me that has died was my grandfather. He died three years ago in stomach cancer. It was very quick though so it wasn't as horrible as some cancers are. He just lost a lot of weight and then passed away. He didn't have to suffer for very long and he calmly left this world surrounded by people that loved him. The last thing he did was smile and close his eyes. I have no idea how I dealt with it. When I last saw him alive I had to practically carry him down some stairs because he wanted to watch the finns win some obscure ski jumping competition, but he was too weak to walk up and down stairs at the time. That was the only sport he liked. We used to sit and guess how long each ski jumper jumped before they announced the results officially. Anyhow, I carried him down the stairs, hugged him and then left to continue my university studies in another town the next day. A few weeks later my mom called me and said he had passed away. I cried a little upon hearing the news, but not much. At the funeral I asked them to open the coffin because I was supposed to carry him to the grave myself, and I had this strange feeling that I had to see him dead to really understand he was dead. It worked, because it made me calm when I carried him to the grave. When I threw my flowers in the grave it was like I had a huge hole in my chest because that's the last thing you can give to a person, so to speak. It was so final that I would never again get to see him. I didn't cry at the funeral, but sometimes when I think about him I feel that hole in my chest again and I miss him so much that I can't stop my eyes from filling up.

Yes, but Abit is the brand to get for serious overclocking. Apparently you can get the E6600 to run in 3.45 GHz using only air cooling (it runs 2.4 GHz stock!). That would still take some serious cooling.. I can't wait to get my hands on the system.

Uhm, I don't suppose any of you remember where to find those damn papers then?

You've spent like 200+ posts on proving that Hades is full of ****. When is enough enough?

And this is the reason why I'm holding back my purchase of a Conroe system. I am patiently waiting for the motherboard manufacturers to catch up with the new technology. I am definitely going to buy an Abit again once they start winning all the motherboard tests again. Seems like Abit is getting closer to finalizing their bios, according to that article. Good.

I like to expose liars. It's fun.

Yeah, I'm sure your Xbox is much better than mine (or my cousin's in this case)..

Remember, this is the guy who thinks Jade Empire is one of the best RPG's ever.. including the fantastic shoot'em up sequences.. complete with crappy programming and optimization that makes the framerate drop into singulars for extended periods of time. Oh, and Neverwinter Nights has beautiful models and a better original campaign than 80% (I think it was) of the RPG's out there!1!

Well, you're also the guy who once claimed that you walk through all your games because of the role playing aspect.. Cut appr. 10-15 hours from those numbers and I'm sure you're much closer to the gamelength for a sane person.

I've been thinking about buying this to keep me warm during those long winter nights before the G80 and R600 comes out in all their DirectX10 compatible splendor. It's not even superexpensive! By the way, did you know that Nvidia has warned that the G80 will consume 175 watts peak? ATI countered with the claim that the R600 will consume 200 watts peak.. I'm sooo glad I bought that 600W Cooltek PSU now

I had a very violent firefight in SIlent Storm. I was looking for some important papers (which I still havent found by the way) in a Mansion and these soldiers kept pouring out, two by two. I kept shooting them and everytime I finished one off, two new ones popped up. Strangely enough I only got hit twice before the fight finished. Notice the bulletholes around my poor sniper.

This might not be a favourite, but it IS quite cool: Uwe Boll (the infamous director) beating ths snot out of one of his critics! He will apparently beat up 4 more after this one. I am sure all of them will be upped on Youtube in a while )

I just wonder how many people will stop and play Civilization 3 when you also get Civilization 4.. The first Civilization is fun to have for nostalgia reasons. Civilization 2 is still one of the best games I know of.

Yeah, they definitely cut down on the ability to count dice rolls and use your vast nerd knowledge of D&D to make the game a walk in the park. Too bad, huh?

I wish there was an olympic gold to win before each NHL season: "In the final 25-game sprint after Turin, Sundin registered 37 points. Only San Jose Sharks centre Joe Thornton enjoyed a better run with 44 points in 26 games." Source: http://www.theglobeandmail.com/servlet/sto...ory/Sports/home

Last time I posted my favourite video I got a whole bunch of threatening pm's from Fionavar

What the hell?! I'm halfway finished with my Kirottu-worship-altar and NOW you tell me this?! DAMN YOU.

I played this game when it was released. Even then the controls were.. quirky. And I played and enjoyed Gothic! You control the character's stance with the numeric keyboard (if I remember correctly) and at no time will he ever be standing in the right pose when you need him to. That's what I remember most vividly from the game. Oh, it's also quite difficult and scary.

Crap. Now I wish me and my cousin and my cousin's 5 year old sister-daughter hadn't played through it on the Xbox. It would have been fun to go through on the PC. Even if the fighting mostly consisted of jumping around, using one combo or going into Jade Golem state (or whatever the lame thing was called).

Crap. I read "Civilization Bot Sex" and clicked on this link. DISAPPOINTMENT!

I don't get how you "hardcore" RPG guys can defend dialogue choices over Oblivion's wheel-of-fortune thingie. If you want to roleplay, you'd probably want to be able to choose exactly what your character was going to say. With dialogue choices, you can only choose one of the choices presented to you. In most cases (for me) noone's even close to what I would want to say. With an Oblivion wheel thingie, you can at least provoke forth the response your own message would produce, even though it doesn't use words. To me, dialogue options is as far from roleplaying as is possible.

Being pissy about a game because you're anal about some rules you've learnt from a book is just.. pathetic. Sorry, but that's the way it is. Play the game, have fun and adjust to the situation. If you feel the design is cheesy, fine, but going mental because something doesn't follow strict rules made up by some other geek in another time and place is just so sad. Remember, these aren't laws of physics that are being broken. They're irrelevant nerd rules.

33 I have none. I like them all. Except the colour of puke. Hockey, computer games, naked gurls, beach volley. I seem to have a weak spot for female singer/songwriters.. Documentaries, action, comedy, drama. Not so much musicals or girlie flicks. RPG, sports, some action. Big boobs. Stupidity. I try to be positive.
