  1. Yeah, I will probably get this whenever it is released in Sweden. But it sounds like an honest review, even if the score is a bit lower than I expected. Most reviews mention the same problems, although in slightly different variations. Some are able to overlook them, some focus on them. Still, it doesn't sound like the game I was hoping this would be (a kind of an action-y Arx Fatalis with a better engine), no matter which review I read.
  2. First Gothic 3 and now this. Let's hope Neverwinter Nights 2 redeems PC gaming for us. I am getting Bully (or Canis Canem Edit) after work. At least then you know you're getting a game without bugs that's probably deeper than both Gothic 3 and Dark Messiah. Playstation 2 for the win, or something. Sigh.
  3. An official reply to the problems in Gothic 3, by Piranha Bytes own Mike Hoge. Source: http://forum.worldofplayers.de/forum/showt...87post2562487 At least I like how they're taking the apologetic way of handling this. Let's hope that the patches can fix most of these problems. I still have faith in Gothic 3!

    NHL

We were blown out again.. But at least we were blown out against Ottawa and not against Phoenix. That makes it feel a tiiiny bit less hurtful. Let's hope the rebound comes against Montreal on Saturday. We desperately need a win.
  5. The graphics do look great, he's not lying about that. But it's sad when the greatest addition to a game would be subtractions: remove the god-awful jumping combat, the shoot'em up mini-game and the ridiculously unbalanced jade golem (if that was its name). It wouldn't hurt to open up the maps a bit and make the entire thing less linear, but that will never happen. It would be a whole new game.

Mmm.. Another Ottawa game. No wonder this whole NHL thing is starting to bore me. They really need to stir up the schedule. We Leaf fans want to see Ovechkin and Crosby/Malkin as much as the next man!
  7. Battlefield 2 actually. I am trying to strain my new system, but so far it's demolished everything I've thrown at it. I'm getting lots and lots of fps in Battlefield 2 even when playing the game with 1600x1200, everything on max and FSAA x6! Amazing.
  8. Saitek has a rather good one, although it doesn't really resemble the classic Playstation 2 controller that much. http://www.saitek.com/uk/prod/p2900.htm It's wireless, gets 30 hours of gaming from one AA battery, has a rumble function and all the same buttons as the classic Playstation 2 controller (plus a few extras).
  9. I've submitted my answers now. And I made sure to answer with annoyingly wordy and unnecessary lengthy replies whenever I was given the chance )
  10. Yeah, I actually called Webhallen and yelled at them for half an hour because I got Gothic 3 on the official release day and not earlier )
  11. better than judge dredd, enki bilal or akira? man, i guess i should check em out. can you find em in the library? <{POST_SNAPBACK}> What the hell happened in that quote? <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Not enough captions. Scratch that, the system has obviously failed. Yeah, you can find the comics around every library, under Avaruusagentti Valerian(by Mezi
  12. Gears of War has gone gold. http://www.gamespot.com/news/6160472.html?...estnews;title;0
  13. Hard to tell. Wish we had more german members on this forum. Whenever a Gothic has been released in english, it has been out in a german version for six months or more. Who knows how many patches the game has gotten before reaching my stores? I think they (Piranha Bytes/Jowood, not Aspyr) support their games pretty well, so far.
  14. Nope, I'm perfectly normal. *twitch* twitch*
  15. The worst thing was when I got an invitation for the closed beta of World of Warcraft. I have played a few beta-games before and they're usually.. less than fun to be around. The World of Warcraft beta was better than 95% of all new games released today. It only had one major bug (killed enemies sometimes became "static" in the sense that they never disappeared or played the death animation, and they just stood there and prevented new enemies from spawning). They fixed that bug a few patches down the line and then it was perfect. I think Blizzard spent the last 6 months just balancing classes and skills! It's sad when even their beta versions beat the crap out of almost anything on the market today, in terms of polish and quality.
  16. Aren't there any books about long lost islands full of super-horny amazon women with fantastic bodies?! DAMN THIS WORLD.

  20. Am I allowed to hide in a porno magazine..?
  21. It doesn't sound too bad, I wouldn't worry about it. Stupid doctors, have to put a label on everything.
  22. I have my sights set for Bully, Neverwinter Nights 2 and Final Fantasy XII (if I can somehow try it before I buy it..). I'm slightly interested in Dark Messiah of Might & Magic too, but only if it gets raving reviews. It sounds like a game that can fail on way too many aspects for me to trust the hype.
  23. I've played Gothic, Gothic 2 and the expansion Gothic 2: Night of the Raven. I loved them all and they're all in my top ten games of all time. I know that Piranha Bytes makes the games I love. To me, it doesn't matter if they **** up once. They have that to their credit (in my book). I am glad to be able to pay their wages (and solid gold Humvee's), as long as they keep producing the rare games that I love. I do, however, have a strong reluctancy to play the beta-tester. Quite a dilemma, eh? I solved it by preordering the game (hence offering my unconditional support for the team) and I am now patiently waiting for the patches (hence avoiding the inevitable beta-testing period). I hate buggy games as much as the next man, but I will also do anything in my power to make sure Piranha Bytes survives another few years and can continue to develop the games that I want. Boycotting them because of their buggy games would not teach them a lesson, it would drive them out of business. One word: Troika.
  24. I passed. Strangely enough, I passed on Gothic 3 too, even though no computer known to man could pass that test in the real world.
  25. This is what my PSU looks like: At the top are the four 12v. rails, 2x2. Below that are two SATA power connectors. Underneath those there's a 4-pin, a 6-pin (PCI-E) and an 8-pin (CPU8) connector. Last there's the 24-pin main power connector (the hole underneath that is something the Cooltek uses to stabilize the currents and voltages). I don't have dual PCI-E connectors either. But at least it has its own rail.
