I don't know exactly how it works, but it has something to do with the body not being able to digest or assimilate all those extra calories because it lacks the other ingredients needed to do so. You basically poop out the same crap you put in your mouth, except in a more liquid form.. I've even read an article about how scurvy is increasing again for the first time in 300 years because of computer nerds eating too unhealthy! I couldn't find it now when I googled for it though. It's actually entirely possible to go on a (extremely unhealthy) diet by eating nothing but candy. Not sure if anyone has ever tried that in reality.

Junk food doesn't necessarily make you fat. It can also make you skinny. Junk food doesn't contain the nutritions a normal human being needs every day so even if the food has enough fat (or sugar) to make you obese, your body will not become fat because it is still starving. This is actually the case with a lot of skinny computer nerds. They think they have some sort of super-human metabolism that allows them to eat as much fat as they want, yet they never gain any weight. They're even stupid enough to brag about it (see current thread for proof). In reality they're abusing their bodies, milking it from any deposits it has and most everyone who does this will get health issues later in life. Being fat or skinny is NOT always an indication on how healthy your body is!

It's your video card. Or rather, lack of video card. The Intel 915 is not really a video card, it's something that's supposed to help the computer show 2D images on a screen. Not sure what I would call it. Anyhow, your thingie probably doesn't support hardware shadow mapping and almost every game out there uses that feature. Except C&C: Generals..

Wait for Precursors. I've myself been looking for an Elite replacement but I haven't found any yet.. and it's been like 23 years since I played Elite on my Commodore 128.

Seriously, you need to learn how to transform BMP pictures to JPG or PNG or something. Download Irfanview ( http://www.irfanview.com/ ), install it, open your BMP picture with Irfanview, press Ctrl + S, choose JPG or PNG in the scroll-list at the bottom, choose something like 85-90 on the Quality slider to the right and save the new picture. Presto, that 900 KB BMP is turned into a more manageable 100-150 KB JPG.

Hey Bok, maybe you should start buying pre-made PC's after all: http://www.asus.com/news_show.aspx?id=11855

Russia weren't lucky, they were better. I thought they played their best game of the tournament against Sweden, but they one-upped it and did even better against Holland! That guy up front for Russia (number 10, can't remember his name) was nothing short of phenomenal.

I suck at strategy games so I got stuck at level 11 and gave up.

The interview was done in February or March of 2008 so he's probably referring to Aliens and Alpha Protocol. Or am I out of the loop again?

The only difference I know between the different CPU's you mentioned is that the ones with an X in their name are completely unlocked and are factory clocked higher than the cheap part. The cheapest CPU is hardware locked in some way to not be as overclocking friendly as the others. If I remember correctly.

Sorry, it's summer Anyhow, looks like I'll finally be upgrading my rig again! THANK GOD! Getting quite sick of my X1950XTX.. even though it handles Unreal Engine 3 games in 1920x1080! Never knew that until I tried it a couple of days ago.. Looking forward to the 4870! I have a Crossfire enabled motherboard too..!

What's the difference between a dinosaur and a dragon?

Yeah, the Italians will probably whine and dive and cry their way to another title. As usual.

Yes, I have it lying here somewhere. It was pretty good, but incredibly difficult I remember it being the most difficult part of all the Hitman's I've played. But I suspect I stunk a bit back then because I also remembered the Zero mission in GTA: San Andreas where you fly a model plane and try to shoot five messengers difficult and when I tried it a few weeks ago I finished it on my first attempt with time over. Anyhow, in the first Hitman you couldn't save anywhere except between missions. And there were stuff like insta-kill tigers and other traps here and there. That about all I remember about it. Oh, and that it had great graphics for its time.

I'm curiously impressed and disappointed at the same time

Left off half the chart! Half? You're joking. Fixed!

Holy crap, haha, that's some serious overkill on the PSU choice :D It won't be silent, but when the zombie apocalypse hits you'll probably be able to use it to power your house or a small nuclear reactor or something. Anyhow, don't go for the 3450! Only the 3850 and the 3870 (x2) are worth getting out of the ATI family of GPU's at the moment. The rest is pure crap without exception. You might want to wait for the 47X0 series to come out. They're supposed to be released at the end of June, but I don't know if any of them will be silent. Probably not. I've also heard that Samsung's ordinary HD's are the most silent of the HD's out there. The Samsung Spinpoint F1 is probably the best 1TB drive out there right now. It's crushes the competition in gaming performance while being a bit more silent than Hitachi's offerings (I use Hitachi..), but much louder than Western Digital's Caviar GP. So a slow WD GP or a fast Samsung F1..

Romantic Interest anyone?
mkreku replied to SirPetrakus's topic in Alpha Protocol: General Discussion
If they can manage to make the romantic interest as hot, interesting and mysterious as Franka, then I'm in! If not, just skip it and add more weapons or something instead. -
Great. The only one left standing when humanity falls is a ballroom dancer.

The only IE game I ever completed was Icewind Dale. It had the best combat of all the IE games I've played and since they're all so combat heavy it was a pretty important part. I hate the combat in Neverwinter Nights 2 though.

Oh wow, that was harsh. We lose the ball on what could have been a free-kick situation (not sure), Sapin counters quickly and scores.. with 1.5 minutes left of the game. Anyhow, it was a great game, even though Spain totally dominated us in the entire the second half. We can't afford to lose Ibrahimovic for 45 minutes..

Sweden 1 - 1 Spain, going into half-time. Haha, I love this game! The Spaniards are quick, they are technical and they are so individually skilled it's scary. But they're so weak! It's like watching a pitbull play with a ragdoll! And the Dutch referee just won't play into their diving game, it's driving the Spaniards mad We will probably lose (Spain are much better on paper) but at least it's fun to watch.
