I don't have anything invested in this and I'm not even a fan of the game, I just hate lacklustre ports, translating the gameplay intact is good but surely this should be a minimum requirement and not something praiseworthy...it just seems to me that the two things you don't port from a bloody console game are the resolution and framerate
-
Is 1024x720 at 30fps not good enough for mister fifty screens? Joking aside, I agree, worst port ever, thankfully someone has made a resolution patch, maybe they can fix the framerate too.

I really enjoyed FEAR back when it was released but ultimately I agree with mkreku, the never ending office block effect almost killed it for me, that and the total fail of the sequels

EA pulls Medal of Honor tomahawk promotion

The Medal of Honor Tomahawk - EA gets deeper into bed with the military industrial complex. Now and again I have to check that it's not April Fool's Day...

I finished it yesterday, it was really fun but the TV series added some new plot elements that worked so much better...apart from Daenerys the TV show really butchered that bit. The real question now is whether to start on book 3, I'm not sure I can wait a year for the next season, apparently this is where it starts to get really dark, I've read several posts from people who threw the book across the room in outrage and I kinda want to see what the fuss is about.

Bloody hell, it's a combination of Dark Messiah, Thief and Hitman! I was going to buy it anyway just because it's an Arcane game but after that, it's a day one purchase for me! The exclusive pre-order bonuses are a freaking nightmare, instead of just paying for the damn thing I need to telepathically know which of these "bonuses" won't derp my game
-
But it looks freaking huge, is it being held by the player in that shot? Morrowind's got plenty...just in wiki format

Why has that girl got a giant Elder Scroll hovering on her back?

I'm watching a Dishonored mission walkthrough, you can possess a fish...I'm getting this game *edit* Seriously though, it looks like it has a good amount of game mechanics and a really cool world. Link - video is at the bottom of the page.

I think you might be missing the point behind the ridicule, everyone you ever met is dehumanised into a "pirate" by one leviathan organisation or another, we're all tacit supporters of the drug trade or terrorism because all of us have copied something.

I'm glad they fixed it but it's still another black mark against Ubi in my book

Baldur's Gate and Baldur's Gate II Enhanced Editions Announced
WDeranged replied to Lorfean's topic in Computer and Console
I'll be buying this, I've dabbled with a modded Baldur's Gate before but I never played more than a few hours so this will be a whole new experience for me, can't wait. If you don't remember it, is that a good sign? I tend to think that film/game music you can't remember is at least competent, it's better than music that obviously grates but I'd prefer music that affects my emotions and sticks in my mind. -
I'm not one for siding with any particular manufacturer but my recent experience with AMD cards has been nothing but clunky, games seem to be made with Nvidia in mind and it shows, I was constantly waiting for patches and drivers with my 5970. Still, they're brilliant bang for buck right now and I'm sure that single GPUs are way less trouble

I haven't seen the movie but as far as I know the ending is an introduction to... Oh dear

I spent the day exploring Norfolk beaches, enjoying the staggering weather and ogling at all the pretty young things, a bittersweet experience all told

I stand by the guy's right to hate and spread as much negativity as he likes, history will remember New Vegas as a classic and he will be dust...DUST!

You can only say that because you haven't seen it. After episode 10 or so it changes to contain way too much mind**** episodes. Everything becomes needlessly complex, nothing gets explained and it spams "raison d'

I'm enjoying The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya, so far at least, it's bat**** crazy and self referential, looking at it's IMDB page led me to Ergo Proxy so that's next on the watching list. *edit* Yeah, Ergo Proxy is exactly the kind of futuristic nightmare I'm into, more like this please

I've watched a fair amount of Full Metal Panic and I did enjoy it, even if the school setting (wtf is it with anime and schools?) got on my nerves, Sengoku Basara doesn't look like my sort of thing, maybe it's the computer game connection, I'm fickle with anime I enjoyed the original Helsing series and I've been meaning to give the remake a go, Samurai X looks like it could be my sort of thing so I'll check it out, I'm not so keen on comedy anime though, I'll check out Azumanga Daioh too but I'm wary of any anime with so many huge eyes and school uniforms Monster sounds like exactly my kind of thing, I'll give that a look as soon as possible, Gurren Lagann I have watched but only a few episodes, It looks like the sort of thing I should like but at the time it annoyed me, my tastes change all the time though, I'll rewatch it one day. Hunter X Hunter seems a bit too Yugioh/Pokemon-ish for my tastes, I'll check it out but I don't hold much hope, Death Note however was bloody brilliant, at least until they killed off one of the cooler characters and replaced him with an almost identical but less interesting version, it felt so pointless...still, I've been meaning to watch it again. Wow, that's a good list, lots of that stuff sounds like my thing but I'll have to do some googling before I know what is what, Darker than Black just lost me at the end, I couldn't see the point in it all, I felt like they were just inserting ideas at random, the strange thing is that I can't even remember the details now, somehow I've suppressed the memory Golden Boy was hilarious and had some really energetic scenes, I shouldn't have liked it but I really did, I'll check out your other suggestions but Escaflowne is the one that jumps out at me. Cowboy Bebop is one of those shows I know I should like but don't, I keep it around in case my mood changes, Outlaw Star is one of my old favourites though, I still watch it now and then, Samurai Champloo is currently being watched and enjoyed The second season, if you must. Oh right, forgot Gungrave. It's an adaptation of the video game of the same name, but focuses on the events preceeding the game. Suffer through the first episode and you get a genuinely great mafia story. Dunno about computer game anime, it's a weird bias I've got but I'll check it out just in case Strangely enough I just looked at Queen's Blade on youtube, that could be a guilty pleasure...maybe, I'll see if I can find any episodes.

Thanks for all the replies, I just got home so I'll start looking into them in a bit Weeeeell, it's entirely possible that I wasn't paying full attention during some crucial scenes but ultimately it didn't grip me, I need to track down the sequel series...
