  1. Is it terribly old fashioned of me that I resent being lumped in with Europe?
  2. And you shall be known as? Ordinator of The Obsidian Order
  3. I'm not surprised that they went with Unity, I'm curious how they're going to use 2D backgrounds (I suspected they might not) but on the whole I don't care, if the camera is fixed then for all intents and purposes it is 2D. As for realism, one look on YouTube shows me that Unity can do the kind of stuff we want, no worries here
  4. Not being able to clear the way of little brats in Little Lamplight with my Fatman was the reason I quit playing Fallout 3 and never completed it. I'm not even joking. Being able to sell one of the little buggers into slavery was a nicely dark turn for Bethesda though.
  5. I don't think anyone is asking for a fully developed cant, just something along the lines of Planescape: Torment would be be great
  6. I'd argue that patois and lingo are utterly inseparable from language itself, they're not just sprinkles, every culture in existence has had deviation from the established norm, in my country it's no strange thing for people living on opposite sides of a hill or valley to talk very differently.
  7. Stuff is going to get cut regardless. It's inevitable. I'd bet all my money on it being a guarantee. Because quality content is quality content? I actually rarely even buy DLC, but for example I did pick up all the DLC for New Vegas because they are great and Sawyer released a mod that made them even MORE great. All hail Saywer's mod, it made my life a living hell in the DLC's.
  8. I agree, the ability to seriously hurt mages with guns should be top tier stuff, you might need to craft the best bullets and gunpowders, take a skill for using rifled barrels etc.
  9. I'd like fighters to be capable of learning a few spells but I definitely think the big stuff should be reserved for specialists.
  10. It's got a lot of this in it http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pFriRcIwqNU And this http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9KwMK78idpA
  11. I haven't put much thought into this but I love the idea of ancient all powerful mages getting shot in the face
  12. My best rationale for having them would be the significant expansion of quest/plot possibilities, unless we're going to stop a guy from discovering gravity by picking all his apples I don't see the need for apple harvesting
  13. As others have said, Obsidian's DLC for New Vegas was really meaty so I don't have many concerns about this, I'd be happy with both but if I had to choose it'd be larger expansions every time.
  14. I'm perfectly happy with the fixed viewpoint, screwing with the camera in Neverwinter Nights (and Dragon Age to a lesser degree) was a complete pain in my arse.
  15. I'd support killable children with the appropriate punishments, you will be reviled, hunted by hitmen and half the questgivers in settled areas won't deal with you...on the other hand if the PC can't kill them then the gameworld should, pull our heartstrings and drive us on an insane hunt for a rapst/killer etc.
  16. There's enough stuff left in that game to last me years, it's a shame Skyrim didn't quite live up to it.
  17. After the credits have rolled the game could simply ask if you want to keep playing, I really liked finding the little snippets of after game content in Fallout 2, it allows the devs to blow off some steam and add the silly crap they couldn't put in the main game. Ultimately I want whatever is suitable for the mood of the finale, if it's dark, heavy and final then I'd rather they just ended it, however, Obsidian have said that you'll be able to keep your character for future adventures so I'd guess that the ending might support some after MQ content.
  18. And it'll probably never get finished either, but yeah, nice to look at.
  19. I don't really have a dog in this fight but I agree with the above comments, New Vegas kept it really classy with regards to homosexuality.
  20. I should make it clear that I'm not for "blood fireworks" but I'd certainly prefer the game not to shy away from the grisly stuff, especially on critical hits/kills
  21. I totally agree about New Vegas and PS:T, both games had excellent audio. I hope I don't sound too overconfident when I say that, I can guarantee you won't be disappointed here. Those of us in the audio department are relentless in our pursuit of creating living breathing worlds through sound. We rarely settle for second best. PE is one of those dream projects that just begs for a rich, lush, and immersive soundscape. We can't wait to dig in... I couldn't agree with this statement more, Syraxis! Before New Vegas I hadn't played any of Obsidian's games, I remember being worried that the sound design wouldn't match Fallout 3...but you guys hit it out of the park, I don't have any concerns for Project Eternity
  22. I finally pitched in, some pretty heavy real life events have hit me so I can only really justify $140, I'm still proud to be a part of this but oh how badly I wanted those signatures.
