I think, last I knew, it just disabled them from accumulating for that session. Yeah that's right, it's weird that I never cared about achievements until I noticed I wasn't getting them in New Vegas
-
Something to keep in mind is that console use of almost any kind disables steam achievements, presumably because you could just console yourself all the achievements.

I really need to start keeping a diary, I've got the feeling that time is creeping up on me and my earlier memories are getting vague

Same here, I'm having trouble spending more than 30 minutes in a game which tends to limit the atmosphere and getting lost in the game much like yourself. Luckily enough I'm still able to enjoy other stuff like playing guitar, watching random stuff and forum posting but playing a game is a different kind of escapism for me, I just can't do it for very long with real life swords hanging over my head.

Still not playing much at all, any time a serious real life issue crops up it pretty much obliterates my ability to get lost in a game
-
I've never played the IWD series so I'll be anxious about spoilers, though I hear it's mostly a dungeon run so maybe I have nothing to worry about.

I enjoyed genociding the White Leg tribe and taking Salt Upon Wounds' mask for my trophy shelf back in Novac but it's a shame I'll never get to join them in support of the Legion, that option would have been so cool on a replay

Adam Brennecke Live Stream
WDeranged replied to C2B's topic in Pillars of Eternity: General Discussion (NO SPOILERS)
Damn that makes me hungry...also FEARGUS! *edit* The fact that I can hear the mushy, wet chewing sounds as he eats has reduced my appetite, I am glad for this. -

It can be turned off but you might want to put steam into offline mode, I've used a VPN several times to get around lockouts, no issues

I had a friend staying with me all last week, I'm really not used to having someone in my space for so long but it was nice, I saw her on to the bus this morning and now it's back to reality, and my somewhat pleasurable solitude

When Skyrim was released I listened to Matt (Chat) Barton talking about the game, he was slating it from all angles but he mentioned one thing that stuck with me, why the hell are we still using completely orchestral music in fantasy games? Think about how Bladerunner was made all the more fantastical because of the work Vangelis did with his synths, I'm not arguing for all out electronica in Project Eternity but I'd agree with other posters about mixing in other styles, a small village might have a folksy vibe while a somewhat technologically advanced location could bring in some of the eerie weirdness of synths.

It's aged pretty well, the characters and Kubrick visuals are still brilliant, it was banned for decades in the UK, I always thought it was because of the violence but after seeing it I tend to think the censors didn't like how the British establishment was portrayed.

I hadn't seen the open Freeside mod but I love the sound of it, my only problem is I'm a bit of a vsync addict, if my game isn't doing 60fps I feel distracted, it's the reason I never used the mod that opened The Strip, the amount of activity in that area is really pushing engine limitations, any fps drops with the freeside mod?

My last playthrough of New Vegas was remarkably stable but I did notice the missing content since my first time, have you noticed any crashing with the restored content?
-
True. You can make Planescape Torment look better than most "next gen" games out there with these mods and if you sit in front of the tv at a normal distance, it's almost impossible to spot a pixel: http://thunderpeel20...lly-modded.html Just so people know, the last few versions of the Widescreen Mod have had a nasty crash bug, the last stable version as far as I know is 2.20 but this thread has some fixes that worked for most people.

Doing all the DLC is actually quite an undertaking, they're so substantial and by the time I'd finished them all I was nearly hitting the level cap, there was also a ton of stuff left to do in the Mojave...an absolute ton.

I loved all of the DLC in different ways, Dead Money was really intense and interesting but you can tell they were fighting the engine with the environment and mechanics. OWB had great exploration but the respawning enemies and wacky humour sometimes rubbed me the wrong way, loved the quests though. Lonesome Road's plot did very little for me, I couldn't accept the Courier's new backstory and I was never exactly sure what my motivation was, at least the location was really well designed, I loved hunting for the nukes. Honest Hearts is probably my favourite DLC, it felt more consistent with the main game and the world was beautifully designed, exploration was nicely rewarded. The quests were solid but I suppose I'd have liked more options in the main quest, I've never done a Legion run but it would have been nice to side with the White Legs. They're all light years ahead of Bethesda's Fallout 3 DLC though, only Point Lookout rivals them, even the Gun Runner's Arsenal is brilliant, so much thought went into it. *edit* As for VATS, I hardly use it in New Vegas, it's more of a last resort

The first time I played a couple of years ago I had this issue, it's so damn easy to make gold and become godlike in Morrowind, I recommend installing a couple of mods from BTB's list, Hotfusion's Economy Adjuster along with the Morrowind Code Patch mainly, they solve all the glaring imbalances.
