What are you playing now
More Morrowind, I spent freaking hours tracking down souls for my Telvanni stronghold, turns out I needed Storm Atronachs and not Frost Atronachs so I need to do it all over again, derp.

What you did today
I got a haircut in my parents' village, I dunno whether it's the lighting or if maybe the mirror is cursed but I always look freaking terrible in there

Windows 8 Impressions
Windows 8 makes me think I'll probably be clinging to Win7 for about as long as I clung to XP, barring some great Linux gaming revolution I'll check back on Microsoft in 2019

What are you playing now
I finally managed to play a few hours of Morrowind and enjoy it, I'm currently building my Telvanni stronghold but I've been slacking with my wizardy skills, dunno if I'll be powerful enough to complete the whole house quest line until I've returned from all my godkilling adventures. Yeah, Skyrim broke me, I'll maybe come back to it next year after all the DLC has been released but I played so much Skyrim that even Oblivion tempts me more...

New Vegas, for my sins
OWB was pretty tough for me too, I remember the turning point being when I upgraded the sonic gun thingy, if it wasn't for that gun being so lethal to robots I'd probably have turned down the difficulty to easy for a while...a desperate last resort for me.

Which iPad type gadget for elderly father?
Yeah I heard there's been some major butthurt over the 4th gen coming out so soon, it looks like a significant update but convincing my dad to wait will be pretty tough, he's not well and wants a new toy before he's too ill to enjoy it.

President Obama
Whenever RT reports on Russian events I tend to be as sceptical as I am of the BBC's ability to fairly report British events but RT's hosts often impress me with their knowledge of the subject, especially compared to their US counterparts.

Pictures of your games
Yeah I've seen quite a few combinations of frozen gibs but that tops them all, maybe it's because the Fiend was crossing the boundary of a cell when you shot him

Which iPad type gadget for elderly father?
Thanks for the replies, it does seem like Apple will be the way I go, the whole ring fenced kiddy's playpen thing seems perfect for older people and I'm relieved that there are 3rd party video players available, re-encoding all my dad's stuff would have sucked.

That's creative. The only thing I remember doing in Sims1 was the drowning thing. heh. Yeah I think drowning in the pool was the only real way to kill a sim, Jimmy Jr ended up joining the military (and walking through the wall) to get away from me

What are you playing now
I used to torture my Sims, I remember bricking up young Jimmy Skag Jr into his own tiny little prison, he had a roaring fireplace and a canvas on which he could paint his despair

What you did today
Any alcohol I suppose, I'm not a daily drinker but recently I got a bit hooked on Kopparberg pear cider, it's easy to drink and doesn't hit you hard, like a nice relaxing sedative. The only downside is I feel a bit dull during the day and I've put on some weight so I'm packing it in...until the weekend

Books we've been reading V2.0
I'm currently nibbling my way through Moving Pictures but my brain is having trouble with books and games at the moment, I generally find it hard to read Terry Pratchett's earlier books but this one is pretty well structured, it's a shame that I'm auto-piloting through it.

Which iPad type gadget for elderly father?
My dad has been pestering me for weeks to figure out what kind of tablet device would suit him, I'm clueless about the options but my instincts tell me suck satan's shlong and go with Apple. My main problem is the ring fenced way Apple works, I'm guessing he can't just drag and drop his files to it and the lack of Flash will definitely give me headaches when he asks why half his web sites don't work properly I've seen a few of the alternatives and most don't seem as refined as the iPad when it comes to ease of use, my dad is over 70 and I need a tablet that won't cause us both headaches or make him regret buying it. I also dread seeing my dad waste money on apps so I'd definitely prefer a platform with less emphasis on parting fools with their gold, can anyone give me some suggestions?

Day 3 of not drinking (gorgeous) pear cider to avoid my problems, yay for self control!

No fetch quests
I don't mind some fetch quests, it'd be rather unnatural to have a world where no one needs anything fetching, I'd also argue that fetch quests can be interesting if there's some plot based motivation beyond getting old Granny Jones her bag of apples. *edit* The Chanter's board from Dragon Age is a good example of crappy fetch quest filler, it's just busywork with barely a single interesting result

Interplay. Kickstarter? It is...a mystery!
Not exactly a smoking gun but the cynic in me finds the idea very plausible.

President Obama
Whenever Coke gets a new president things surely change a bit, but he still wants to sell you some Coca Cola.

What you did today
I should give The Walking Dead another try some time, I actually gave up on it because the show's soundtrack is heavily compressed, the sucking sensation during every "silent" moment as the compressor/limiter pulls up the noise floor so you can hear all the hiss and crickets in the distance...maybe it's just the TV broadcast or maybe it's an intentional effect but I can't stands it

What you did today
Feeling bad for myself, eating and playing video games is normal for me

What you did today
Had a really long talk with a girl I know, we're both going through similar (illness in family) stuff so it was nice, I didn't feel like I was putting my crap on her plate like I do with other people, if she wasn't utterly obsessed with a friend of mine I'd show serious interest in her

The Fitness Thread!
For some reason I love rowing machines, they're the only thing in a gym I can use for long periods without getting bored, looking forward to receiving a hand me down soon, apparently heavy duty
