  1. "I win" spells are perfectly fine, as long as it's compensated by taking 100 rounds to cast.
  2. Just because of this, I hope that Tali will be unmasked in ME2 in a similar fashion as Mileena in MK2.
  3. Having someone in heavy armor during a dungeon crawl doesn't make much sense either. The beasties would hear the knight ringing & clanging from 5 miles away... not to mention the knight would never be able to keep up with the light-armored companions. Heavily armored warriors dashing across the screen in games is always hilarious to watch. In the quintessential dungeon crawl, the Mines of Moria in LOTR, the heaviest armor worn was ringmail by the dwarf.
  4. I thought that was Liara. Apparently there's a new crazy Cerberus girl named "Miranda" as romance.
  5. Ranged weapons (& all weapons for that matter) are quite realistic in Drakensang - you can craft bows & arrows from yew/elm wood, goose feathers & wood glue. Crossbows are more powerful than longbows/shortbows, but take a long time to load. There are also special archer skills like "marksman" & "master marksman" that allow to penetrate arrow & inflict wounds on enemies. Does DA:O have any crafting?
  6. *Just looked at Dalish Elf video again* Is it me, or do the bows have no strings?
  7. Will Marilyn Manson make an in-game appearance like in Sacred 2?
  8. Tremere get both Dominate & Thaumaturgy. Really overpowered - level 5 dominate = "mass suicide" should kill all Tongs in their nightclub without any problem. It would be really cool if it were possible to create your own homonculus as describe in one of Strauss's books.
  9. Since TLJ I'd only call the Syberia series classic. Broken Sword 3 is a possible contender, but is marred by its ending which is completely out of this world (and in a bad way).
  10. Mind you, I don't care about labels, but if ME is called a RPG, why is STALKER called a shooter with RPG elements? Because ME is story-based, it becomes a RPG?
  11. I really hated the Ming Temple, hacking through 100+ mooks in kimonos like in a bad Japanese slasher flick. When I replayed the game with a character that had level 5 Obfuscate, a lot of boredom/frustration was alleviated.
  12. As much as I'd love to cram an adventure game into the list of new classics, I just can't think of a good one that came out in the past 4 years... Dreamfall could've been it but wasted it all.
  13. When I played the game, I tried the "cover & shoot" but I found that most enemies would just charge me and unload a shotgun in my face. *shrug* So I switched to Rambo tactics which worked great for the entire game.
  14. Drakensang: yes + prequel in the making (yey!) Divinity 2: no, but the game was developed in English... only reason there hasn't yet been an international release is that developers are currently (apparently) having trouble negotiating with 'assertive' publishers. New patch is coming soon with a ton of improvements which should make the game even more kick-ass.
  15. Divinity 2: Ego Draconis/Drakensang could become quite the cult classics. The excellent games nobody at the other side of the pond played because it got unnoticed in the smoke curtains put up by BioWare & Bethesda.
  16. Heh... yeah. I loathed the controls in NWN2.
  17. Is there a Batwoman/Batgirl playthrough or something unlocked after finishing the game?
  18. Same thing. Also, I'd like to mention the sex scene itself just looks plain bad. Very weird. In hindsight, a collar grabbing or pistol in the face would've been suitable there. All that running around & sucking up to a turian for a few measly credits.
  19. ah, thanks. insufferable indeed. i guess it's good they put it in such a gawdawful default because otherwise i would not have complained, and would have just limped along annoyed. i don't have any issues with the NWN2 camera other than the way it deals with occlusions (or rather, doesn't deal). just put it in the proper mode and all is well. taks Using the mouse to move around like in NWN is annoying since the camera resets everytime behind your characters after clicking. It's best to use WASD to move around while controlling the camera with the right mouse button. That said, some fights in this game can get really intense & come quite unexpected... fought through an entire castle ruin filled with mooks yesterday until I reached a boss surrounded by enemies that looked exactly like said mooks but were in fact quite the opposite... turning what I expected to be a casual wipe-out into an intense battle to the death. It also seems Elves are quite overpowered in the game because they can cast almost all spells in the game regardless whether they're fighter or ranger. What I like in this game is that unlike in D&D where it is raining +3 longswords, enchanted armors & rings/amulets of uber awsomness are found basically in every chest/barrel, there is no fancy magical weaponry & armor and magical trinkets are rare too. You and your party are run-off-the-mill schmucks just like the mooks you're mowing down with abandon. Not to mention, leveling up is quite slow as well & combat magic, while powerful, should be used with extreme caution since it usually takes very long to cast. The only minor complaint (besides the camera) is that I think followers should have been developed a wee bit more... they're basically slightly above SoZ level... I did a follower quest yesterday and when things were done expected some new dialogue revelations, but there was nothing. *shrug* That said, though, I probably find the followers so interesting because they reveal practically nothing about themselves... same happened to me with the ones in SoZ. I reckon having them read aloud their personal diaries to me, BioWare style, would just destroy them in my eyes as usual.
  20. I like an old-fashioned dungeon crawl to start off things, so I'll probably pick the Dalish Elf origin. Even though Dalish Elves seem to be weird, running around in their underwear like that.
  21. Press & hold right mouse button to move around the camera freely. The camera is insufferable at times, but nothing I haven't been through before with NWN2.
  22. I could never get into GTA, but this seems like it might appeal to me... *waiting for demo*
  23. Finally defeated the Mother Rat in Drakensang... took over half an hour to take down this oversized RPG clich
  24. Animation in FO3 was utter crap, yet it won several Game of the Years. *shrug* If story & combat is more alike to Gothic II than Gothic III, the game should be a real winner.
