  1. I believe the trader caravans stop in Girdleshade (sp?) too.
  2. Bizarre, when I blew off Moira Brown's head and headed outside the whole town was on my back. Fallout 3's system is better than Oblivion's, at least. Kill some random schmuck inside a house in stealth mode in Oblivion and still a guard will come after you. Then pay some gold and everything's hunky-dory again. At least Morrowind had a "death sentence" if you killed too many people (which of course could still be removed if you were in the Thieves Guild).
  3. I remember the game freezing intermittently when I first played it, then I did something I now don't remember and the problem solved. Since I'll 'soon' have to reinstall the game from scratch, I hope this freezing issue doesn't pop up again. Also, I remember the very first time I exited the vault I ran into the 'random' encounter of a Deathclaw getting owned by two Outcasts & not much farther from this encounter I ran into "Sam Warrick" who netted me leather armor and a sniper rifle after going James Clemens on him. It's an enjoyable game, but in the end I prefer TES and wouldn't lose any minute of sleep if Bethesda would completely outsource the franchise to Bethesda and completely focus on TES again.
  4. I play the English version whenever I can. But I tried ME this time in German, just for the lulz. Saren sound like one hell of a mother-Fritzl. I enjoy playing multilanguage games myself. I have one of BG&E... French/Dutch/Italian/German/Spanish. The voice acting is actually pretty damn fine in all versions.
  5. Rune was a pretty awesome/interesting game since it was one of the very few games that made use of Germanic mythology succesfully & faithfully (compare it with crap like Asgard). It had interesting levels & an unexpected twist just before the ending. Heavy Metal FAKK2 was pretty awesome/interesting too, with excellent levels & combat but way too short & a horrible cliffhanger ending. And then there's American McGee's Alice... probably the most sardonic game ever created. It's amazing how many interesting action/adventure games came out around 2000.
  6. German is too grand & epic a language for space opera fluff, really. It fits dark heroic fantasy the best. Dragon Age will probably be 'the bomb' in German.
  7. Guess he's called Sten because of the pace at which he spouts dark & gritty one-liners.
  8. Prince of Persia: Two Thrones. I forgot how short & easy the game was. I might even replay Dreamfall again now that I'm on a computer that's not allergic to that StarForce crap.
  9. I'm bound to play some oldies, since I'm back on my old computer. I finally got enough of my 'uber' PC that had been BSODing intermittently for the past month.
  10. It will be interesting to see how long they can drag out the amnesia cop-out.
  11. Speaking of "epic", the most "epic" thing I've seen about Dragon Age so far is David Gaider's physical metamorphosis... and is that new hair real? He suddenly looks romanceable, even.
  12. Playing with a different character doesn't really change much in gameplay, it only changes the party composition... basically as an Elf you just take over the role of Gwendala (whom I never used when I played as a Ranger). It seems the game was designed with the PC as a warrior/soldier in mind, considering the equipment you get. Even my Ranger needed to pump points in melee combat skills in the late game. Considering Drakensang is the very first RPG of Radon Labs (the developers of Ankh, IIRC), and considering the tiny budget they had to contend with (compared to a BioWare/Bethesda release) I think the game is very impressive. I enjoyed it more in the end than Divinity 2: Ego Draconis.
  13. The 'good' thing about Morrowind is that there is no limit on training. So one can get x5 modifiers each time by training misc skills & having major/minor skills that are governed by each attribute.
  14. Morrigan seems like another (extremely) emotionally unstable lass. First she nearly cries when she has to let go off mommy's skirt, then later she asks power-armoured PC-dude to kill mommy off. Seems like Wynne is the only sane lady in the game.
  15. POP 2 was much harder than POP 1. Having a time limit in that game would be torture. Particularly the part with the skeleton on the bridge is one of the most frustrating parts ever designed in gaming. And those flying heads...
  16. Dune RPG? ... One can only hope.
  17. Didn't know there were dragons in Sapkowski's dark heroic fantasy world. Anyway, this is the real "new ****", indeed. I just hope the plot won't be a knock-off of the first game, it would be lame if this time another mysterious group (apparently assassins) wreaks havoc after abusing the Witcher secrets... i.e. epilogue of the first game. Hopefully Geralt will visit many places of the world this time, instead of just only Temeria. I'd like to see Thanedd Island for instance... also, how is it that every Princess wants to sleep with the white-haired one?
  18. No, I haven't even played "the new sh*t" yet...
  19. There's a good overview on the wiki: Link Look out especially for the world replacers.
  20. You didn't like Bond scampering about in that moon buggy?
  21. You have to download a DLC to get the real ending?
  22. With the right mods Morrowind looks better than Oblivion, no doubt about it. Jade Empire was hilarious once you got 'Jade Golem'. Everything, including bosses, just died in two hits.
