  1. Why did she jam a revolver into her body? Looks painful.
  2. I agree with OP.
  3. The game will most probably be compared to Splinter Cell: Conviction a lot, including graphics. I think AP looks about as good as Splinter Cell: Double Agent, which is a 2006 game. Big deal.
  4. Maybe the game will have a more light-hearted tone if one picks solely James Bond style dialogue options, and feel more 'serious' if one sticks to Jason Bourne or Jack Bauer?
  5. I thought that first WoW pic was from Overlord instead.
  6. No matter what Bethesda would've concocted for FO3, it would never have been Fallout enough. *snicker*
  7. I've started playing Rise of the Argonauts and it's quite a fun game, for a console port. It likes to crash now and then and has problems with controls that like to reset themselves in the middle of combat, but overall I'm pleasantly surprised. I followed this game during its development a couple of years ago but somehow forgot about it. Though I wish the game wouldn't try so hard to be a RPG, when it's clearly an action game... combat is great fun but there's simply not enough of it. For every fight in the game there's probably 1 hour of talking... I finished a main quest hub that contained exactly six fights, and for the rest consisted of 2-3 hours of running around and listening to people speak. This game has more talking than Dragon Age. But the companions one picks up during the game are surprisingly well-written, and have some excellent banter & commentary as well. I'm liking them better than the ones from Dragon Age. Music is quite fantastic as well... and the story at least doesn't completely and utterly rape Greek mythology, unlike God of War. Only gripe is, as said above, some technical issues for which there doesn't appear to be a patch.
  8. It will not happen, but the EU should have the guts to admit it failed and retreat to its 1967 borders. And dump the Euro asap.
  9. The Last Starfighter was great, and had the best sci-fi villain of all time: Also, Masters of the Universe. Movie might have been cheese overall, but movie Skeletor was an amazing villain, perfectly acted as well, and blew away his moronic comic book counterpart. And then there's Dune... a movie that broke with some of the book lore quite significantly, but still managed to remain true to it - and happened to spawn one of my all-time favourite games. One might even consider Krull sci-fi.
  10. Kojak is the perfect Minsc.
  11. Looks even cornier than Risen's. Also, I thought the title was "Arcania: a Gothic tale"?
  12. It's a very repetitive game. There are hundreds of star systems, but each one has the same fetch, combat & transport missions you need to do to upgrade your ship. Main story is very predictable too, and the characters + voice acting pretty bland. I'd call it 'Oblivion in space'. Good to rent for a weekend and play it through once.
  13. Where's the game in Heavy Rain?
  14. Since you mentioned this, I can finally bring up Ghosts of Mars.
  15. I'm surprised there's no Serenity in that list.
  16. All these movies are crap compared to the golden era of sci-fi in the 50s & 60s. The day the Earth stood still, Forbidden Planet... Queen of Outer Space. Lulz.
  17. The mistake here was to allow celebrating a foreign holiday that has nothing to do with the US whatsoever. Why isn't this sort of thing celebrated in private? Or do descendants from French colonists celebrate July 14 at American schools too? Be too lenient with immigrants for a few decades and they start to try to change society from within to suit their own needs instead of adapting... in these here parts we have our own nice al-Qaeda cells (first female suicide bomber in Iraq was from Charleroi) & groups striving to introduce the sharia because of years of socialist pampering. In fact this whole incident reminds me of our muslims calling out to natives that dare eat something in front of them during the ramadan period, or calling western women whores for not dressing like the Virgin Mary. EDIT: English is teh hard
  18. I think they simply bred less than Cro Magnon, being more intelligent, and eventually either disappeared by interbreeding and isolation.
  19. I don't understand why a foreign holiday should be celebrated at an American school. But this hoopnanny reminds me of when the Moroccon or Turkish national football teams come to Brussels to play our national football team, and the stadium's packed with Moroccon/Turkish immigrants who boo/whistle when the Belgian national anthem is played. *chuckle* Thankfully though, Belgians being the most anti-nationalistic people in the world, combined with extremely low self-esteem due to a history of national & international major screw-ups, don't give a hoot.
  20. That's a common misconception. Apes & humans merely have a common ancestor. Or not...
  21. Under Bush there was a law that allows foreigners accused of terrorism to be incarcerated forever. I don't now whether it's still in effect.
  22. I've been getting pretty hyped about Gray Matter. It's the first big Jane Jensen game after GK3, and from what I've seen & read it reminds me a lot of The longest journey, with a setting combining magic in a high-tech future Earth. The main character (female, of course) seems pretty interesting as well. Maybe it will be the next big adventure game that revitalizes the genre and puts it back on the radar after years of mediocrity. Hopefully it is released this year. For the rest, I'm looking forward to Drakensang's Phileasson's expansion. Supposedly it's only 10 hours long, but one will be able to import the party from River of Time & visit a legendary location in DSA lore, similar to D&D's Myth Drannor.
  23. Enemies no longer attack one-by-one?
