Is it just me, but does DragonRim sound a bit rude?

Jamoecw, sorry to put my nerd-hat on but Aerie was an elf. In AD&D canon she'd be fifty or sixty years old by the time she tumbled out of puberty. I've hacked her to death dozens of times and never felt bad about it.

A big part of the player experience this time around will be the option to grow a vegetable garden, found in the "Agriculture" skill tree after reaching a certain level. Can I grow my own LI? Pumpkin lurve? SQUEEEEEEE!

Those character models are sweeter than elven sweetbreads dipped in molasses. -
Because I always killed Aerie when she was in ogre form, I never saw the inventory-baby. Is that for real?

My pledge gives me the game, Feargus' car, the first-born of the developer of my choice, a vial of MCA's blood and some cookies. It wasn't particularly expensive either, lord knows what some of the elite tiers got for their money. -
I am reading The Twelve Children of Paris by Tim Willocks, the sequel to The Religion. I cannot recommend these highly enough. The Religion takes place during the siege of Malta in 1565. Matthias Tanhauser, ex-Janissary, merchant and all-round ass-kicker helps defend the island from the Grande Turke. In 'Twelve Children' he tries to rescue his wife during the slaughter of the Huguenots in Paris, leading to even more sixteenth century ass-kicking. Tannhauser is a brilliant character - he makes the Bloody Nine from the Joe Abercrombie novels look like a mild-mannered librarian. An ex-Janissary he is a skilled killer, he is a Knight of Malta, he has strange mystical beliefs, he is a mercenary free-booter and I can hardly put the book down. Willocks' prose is dense and might not be to everyone's taste but I find it mythic and appropriate to the setting. I'm also learning a fair bit about the schisms in Christianity during the period.

but like I say moving very 300 miles away very soon. Do not worry, the internet is not a fixed geographic phenomenon. -
This entire thread should be bathed in acid, then bayonetted repeatedly, just to be sure.

^ You are speaking ancient Sanskrit, Awesome. In any case I suspect a moody DAT file or something might have been to blame. A good blast of CCleaner has done the trick and now I can play online with wirelessly. Thanks for all the suggestions.

I see that Defiance is super cheap in the Steam Sale right now.

Funnily enough, it does work though.

She's a great-looking girl and I don't mind a little bit of ink... but that's not my cup of tea I'm afraid. Everybody under forty seems to be covered in tattoos. I don't have any. Maybe as part of my mid-forties, mid-life crisis I need to get illustrated. Any ideas?

^ Long story, I've just had my connection reset by my ISP and I'm running out of the master socket and not an extension. So it's almost twice as fast as it was before. It's a brand new Belkin wireless network adapter versus a very old ethernet cable. Phase two is replacing all my filters and trying some of the suggestions here. I think I need a better router too.
-
Hello. I've just got a wireless dongle for my PC. It's actually faster than the ethernet cable I was using. But now Steam won't work and I'm too far away from the router to plug in! Any ideas?

FWIW I hope nobody thought I was playing some sort of asshat "I have kids therefore I am in some way morally and / or experientially superior" bollocks. Because I know that is BS.

No, by process of osmosis, you are absorbing some of my wisdom, padawan.

Have Games Workshop considered litigation against this lot? Sheesh talk about blatant WH clone. -
I am father to a marvellous son. I enjoy an excellent relationship with him and love him dearly. This is why, in games, I couldn't give a toss about excellent relationships and want to drive tiger tanks, slay dragons, enslave nations with necromancy and lead mighty armies across continents. Next.

The 'durability' in BG1 was a plot device - i.e. the contaminated iron crisis. You couldn't repair anything and it *only* affected conventional weapons. It didn't exist in BG2. In short, it's not exactly a brilliant comparison to use, nor is it a precedent. Edit: Forgot to address the idea of being 'lazy.' This is a game. Not a chore. People that enjoy that level of micromanagement are fine, maybe there does need to be a hardcore / survival mode. As I said, however, there is no precedent in the titles from which this game is meant to be drawn so I'm surprised people are clamouring for it.
