  1. How dare Bio try to appropriate the 'action RPG' title for their new game? ARPGs are a noble undertaking. The cinematic, emo, prose-laden PoS that DA3 is likely to be won't be an ARPG. ERPSC* perhaps. *Emo-Role Plaeying Screen Saver.
  2. I don't know much about consoles but I do know that I won't be getting a new XBox.
  3. A good starter for ten would be to observe and respect basic property rights and freedom of association - and tell non-members to set up their own club.
  4. Bwahahahahahahahah CoH2 is such fun, even with only 6 maps in the open beta, that I'm pulling an all-nighter. Give it a try, 'tis free, and see what you think.
  5. I agree. But, OTOH, if all female gamers were as chilled and good-natured as you what would Anita and the White Knights do for kicks? Edit: I reckon a good 85% of female gamers *are* as chilled and good-natured as you, mebbe even 95%, But if you give a libtard hipster even 5% of pissed off people then they've got a grievance foothold in the mountain of kulturkampf.
  6. Can I just get on the record that (a) I like bewbs, especially Russ Meyer-esque zeppelins, and (b) I am not in fear of women's bodies.
  7. ^ Yeah loads of abilities stack, the d12 hit dice is good and you can score sneak attacks with comedy 2-H weapons. As an assassin with 20 STR I was poison sneak attacking with dual greatswords, it was like some total badassery from the Scorpion King. Which, of course, is what decent fantasy CRPGs *should* feel like, not humourless LARP simulators.
  8. Ha ha ha we are all talking about too many great games to choose from on the forum where it has been declared that 'PC gaming is dead.' QED.
  9. Wow it was a while back but I remember having a Barbarian / Rogue / assassin and one of those Storm-Lord prestige class dudes in my party, as well as a vanilla sorcerer and a grey-orc fighter cleric. We panzered our way through it with lots of fun.
  10. ^ Yes, FO:NV is a genuine gem. I'm looking forward to seeing where Fallout goes next, damn I'd love them to explore the Fallout world outside of the USA.
  11. A bump because the open beta is up and running.
  12. Anyone who hacks my account will be eating into my overdraught. Which is the bank's money anyhow.
  13. That's an interesting question. I'm not a Sega fanboy by any stretch of the imagination, but let's look at the evidence: 1. Sega buy CA in what, 2008? We've had Empires and Shogun 2 since then. Love them or hate them (Empires, for example, wasn't to my taste) they were critically-acclaimed, well-supported and faithful to the essence of the franchise. The only change I noticed was a plethora of DLC - is that a sing of the times or Sega? Dunno, you tell me but the sky hasn't fallen in and CA continue to make credible, grown-up strategy games with high production values. 2. Sega buy Relic earlier this year. They rescue Company of Heroes 2, give it an extra three months polishing time from the original release and pour extra funding into it. Hell, they even listen to a fan petition and retain a much-respected community manager despite him living a gazillion miles away. Frankly, as a fan, I can't criticise any aspect of Sega's handling of this affair. A great game I thought would get cancelled is now being released with a six-year support cycle and a plan. The competitive esports crowd are grumbling, but that's a niche thing that will be addressed after release. So, what of DoW3? A much-loved franchise. There is no reason to suggest that DoW won't get the CoH treatment. OK, there might be a console tie-in, perhaps, and more DLC (although DoW was spammed with DLC anyhow) but I think that it will continue on the path that the originals took. In short, it *seems* that Sega are happy to have a portfolio of boutique development houses *at the moment* to service PC / strategy gaming. Big, meaty titles, for sure as this is a business, but there can be no doubt that Sega's wider credibility has benefited as a result. The real test will come, IMO, on the next turn of the wheel, or after a title is deemed mediocre. Just my two groats, but Sega have done the reverse of what the dollar-hungry, short-termist vampires at EA would have done.
  14. Give me your steam name here or via PM so I can prove my tactical genius unto you, Tovarich.
  15. Rome: TW2 is looking incredible, 2013 is pretty great for RTS / strategy gamers. And thanks to... Sega?? Strange days.
  16. In my day we had bewbs in video games, and we were happy.
  17. I approve of the Chateau Irenicus vibe and think Polina should be given a pat on the back for nailing that BG feel.
  18. 'tis genius such as this that makes this board such a pleasure.
  19. I liked it too, but the frames around the ports etc are too big / intrusive. I like the Dragon Age system where the rings around the ports denote mana / heatlh / whatever.
  20. Alan, for the benefit of us civilians, what is a 'malloc call' pls
  21. ^ You used the word 'Immersion.' Pay a small fine and start again.
  22. I wasn't expecting that! Blimey.
