  1. I think the $140.00 point will get better to encourage people to pledge *up* to it. So don't worry if you are already there. I want the CE box more than I want W2, so $165.00 makes no sense to me: I'm paying $160.00 already including postage. Obz needs to show a bit more love to its adoring European fanbase.
  2. They need that much because rumour has it that George is a bit of a prima donna. He insists on fresh orchids in his dressing room, M&Ms with all the yellow ones removed, a black stretch hummer to pick him up every morning to take him to work and a chorus of dwarven castrato to sing ave maria while he's thinking in the mornings. These things all add up.
  3. It's a tactical bag, they come with velcro for morale patches... My current favourite...
  4. ^ It was on there when I bought it.
  5. I said years ago that I wanted to play a CRPG that felt like the coolest homebrew campaign made by DMs who really knew what they were doing. No disrespect, but this setting already feels really crunchy and home-brewed. Which is a fell complement, BTW.
  6. Bwahahahaha I have mint physical copies of NWN2, MotB and SoZ. In fact I might *** install them right now *** (demonic cackle) and post screenies of my epic (saved) Epic Blackguard game of MotB (Chaotic Evil version, bloated on souls). Who says physical copies are dead?
  7. 1. What is Zelda? 2. Who is Tingle? 3. Should I care? 4. Has the OP forgotten to take his or her meds?
  8. I'm all about replayability and custom parties = more classes = more replayability and custom parties. It's all good.
  9. I usually get bored by games that don't constantly involve me hacking **** up, but MotB had a bald chick and a psychedelic bear NPC. and I got to eat souls and hang out with gods. So even I, the Hackmeister, am happy at the inclusion of Mr. Z. Oh, plus I've just been given a mouse-mat for free.
  10. Hey, thinking about merch... Can we have cloth patches military 'morale patch' style, i.e. velcro? I don't see anybody *sewing* patches on anymore, and this one would look cool velcro'd to my laptop bag.
  11. [clerks]The guy who fixes the vending machines[/clerks]
  12. Not really - I use it on parties to re-spec NPCs appearance, skills etc as well as on my own party of six characters I've created.
  13. A good shout, a sort of micro-editing tool for characters. I'm sure a modder will make one, though. I love SK.
  14. In a big game world with lots of characters, plots, quests and places to explore, sometimes it's nice to gather information. Usually this takes the form of dialogue skill checks when talking to NPCs. Or finding exposition-laden scrolls and notes ("Ha! We are poisoning metal! Find the bandits in the woods to the north! X marks the spot!"). So, whilst typing about the odd little boozing mini-game in another thread (i.e. the tavern interface where you had a random chance of getting rumours whilst paying for drinks), I though about fun ways of gathering information about the game world in P:E This idea works on a number of levels: * Intelligence might be patently false, which could be intriguing * It allows skill-monkey characters to *really* shine * It allows for new dialogue trees if you know something about them you've gleaned from a third party * It's a fun way of piecing together what the hell is going on ------------------ So, how do we do that? Outside, of course, the usual dialogue system? * Resurrect the boozing mini-game from BG1 and make it better * Be able to recruit snitches and send them forth (like the thieves in the BG2 stronghold quest) * Allow the party to hire Ciphers or others to do some magical espionage (a magic private detective character who is an information broker might be neat) * Create a secret police force / order / faction who the players can interact with for good or for bad * Create a revolutionary group / order / faction " --------- " ----------" * Allow kidnap and interrogation by the players of important NPCs to see if they can get them to talk *rolls up sleeves* What do we all think?
  15. Narcotics are a fairly big part of many vanilla settings (i.e. the Forgotten Realms, where the Red Wizards knock out Black Lotus on street corners) and tie in with the idea of magical potions and alchemy and suchlike. So I'm fairly cool about it. And as Jaesun points out, booze is mandatory, I loved all the odd names of drinks you could buy in BG1 whilst trying to attempt to garner rumours (then you'd get drunk based on your intelligence score).
  16. Us IWD fans have been given plenty to chew on: a place to recruit cannon-fodder and a dungeon for them to loot. So I'm sure there will be plenty of room for a great story too.
  17. The problem with your otherwise cogent and well-reasoned post is that a lot of people on the internet want everything, for very little, right now. And that's not enough either. I also think that some people are struggling to differentiate between a publisher-led project and this one.
  18. 10th post like this and not as good as half of the others, but I'm broadly in agreement with you FWIW.
  19. OTOH here's me at Barbarian Camp this summer:
