  1. I was hopeful this is what the Microsoft deal would lead to. So many good games to look forward to :) Looking forward to it.
  2. Mixed feelings here, seeing Obsidian stop struggling was one thing I wanted. Seeing them do it by themselves was another. I guess we couldn't have the best of both worlds as is always the case. I'm happy for the employees and hopefully the new financial backing will secure OEI the resources it deserves. There have been quite a few good game released under the Microsoft banner. With Sea of Thieves they have also hopefully learned not to lean too much on a studio because that game COULD have been a real gem. A costly mistake which Obsidian now shouldn't need to feel. I'm sure the first game to release by OEI will be largely untainted (ala DA:O by Bioware after EA took over), what happens after though... Time will tell. Also.. Vampire The Masquerade I guess I can always replay Redemption and Bloodlines. Again. and again *shakes fist*
  3. Received it today, that statue is amazing! So ehh... when's the next kickstarter?
  4. Try Lionheart (Legacy of the Crusader) which was rushed near the end (unfortunately) or Tower of Time (small little indie gem).
  5. Unsure how expensive it is for you but I can recommend the Tower of Time. Indie cRPG which is more in depth then I initially expected. -edit just realized that might not be available to you on those platforms oh well
  6. At the time, I was devastated when the news broke about EA acquiring Bioware. Eventually my fears were proven right and Bio will probably end up with the studio closing soon enough. Not even sure what their target audience is with Anthem. With OEI+MS though I'm not sure, this could end very well indeed. There is always some loss when you give up your independence so no arguing against that. The financial strength could allow Obsidian to create games beyond AA games, or if they decide to stick to them perhaps polish them more and maybe even create more of them at the same time! The obvious downside being that they will be asked to create Xbox exclusives, I'm sure Although I'm a cRPG and retro gamer, I'm not married to my mouse and keyboard so I don't worry at all with moving to a gamepad. I just hope they won't go all in (meaning "beyond" AAA everyone on deck 365 day crunch / year), it just doesn't work. Do what you do well and with additional Finances, simply do that... better As an example of a studio which is really turning around in my eyes: I really admire what Square is trying to do revisiting their roots (Bravely Default / Octopath Traveler / etc). They also remade the Xenogears OST recently, good stuff. I guess time will tell what will happen, I hope the board stays open though
  7. I was wondering when my physical edition would show up While things probably could have gone better, I'm sure everything was done with the best intentions. Thanks for the updates! (I've long since finished the game, next playthrough will probably when all DLC has been released)
  8. Yes, you can swap over and no files will be changed (until something 89+ releases). I've opted out of beta for now, seeing as there is no difference anyway and I can always opt back in if something impressive comes in.
  9. Perhaps they can add a "shift" function on those speed numbers that displays a more complete calculation? Shift is already used to "better explain" stuff elsewhere and is unused on those pages as far as I can see.
  10. Appears correct, even in my current 21% DEX game. Not a bug then, but perhaps there could be better way to display it? I'm willing to bet many people will simply look at the numbers and conclude something's wrong without that formula.
  11. It's not a hard cap and you can see it happening with your companions also. It looks more like a global -2 DEX modifier. Posted it here earlier: https://forums.obsidian.net/topic/99072-attributes-dexterity-not-calculating-correctly/ -edit Apparently not a bug but it is missing information on the formula, more info in the thread above.
  12. Started a new game on Beta 86, though before entering the ship, Beta 89 came out so I'm actually on that. When entering my ship for the first time, the following happened: Unfortunately I overwrite the save where it happened and having tried to recreate it, I failed (second attempt everyone was positioned as normal): I can tell you that eventually they moved away from that spot and all was well again (so very minor). One more thing: On my previous playthroughs I received a dark grey cloak: This time however, I got the royal deadfire company cloak: No idea if this is intended and part of the "poe1 import fixes"? (I always import my game) But it was something new so I figured I'd add it -edit To clarify, the cloak is the one you get when you first enter your ship.
  13. Darn I knew it when I read it earlier haha. I imported a game after the earlier Eder fix (and it worked, so I figured I was reasonably safe) but I guess I'm going to see things going "off" pretty soon. Oh well
  14. That does look like it should be 1 or 2 for minor but who knows, maybe average should be 6. Wonder if we could get a reply on intention so we can change it ourselves until it's patched.
  15. Hi guys, noticed the following behavior: Taking the Weapon and Shield Style passive will give you +6 Reflex Saves regardless of wearing a shield or not. (I'm unsure if I should just gather a few issues and post them together, it is easier for me to just post them when I find them however)
  16. Hi guys, back again with an issue I noticed, which is the following: Dexterity seems incorrectly calculated. Looking at the sheet: And an actual ability: It doesn't seem correct. Looking at Eder with his 11dex, it shows the same. Except for Eder that means it actually rests at -3% (instead of +3% for 11 dex). Maybe I'm missing something obvious? I don't recall noticing this earlier, but perhaps I wasnt paying attention too closely. -edit: Feel free to add if you experience the same, if it's just my game I need to find out why xD It happens on all my saves now though.
  17. As you seem to be able to troubleshoot the basics, have you tried checking your audio device? It's a stretch, but if you're desperate: Attempt1: Go to device manager and disable your audio device(s). Attempt2: Go to your playback devices, disable any unused ones (do the same for recording devices) and try again. Double check playback devices and try and fiddle with the default format values (I would definitely try switching between 44100Hz and 48000Hz if you can) Attempt3: Update you audio device drivers (whichever ones you can find). Cheers and good luck. -edit Also try reading this post: https://steamcommunity.com/discussions/forum/1/1480982971174752598/ While appearing for Windows 1709, it does reference something generic (scaling) which can be modified in any OS.
  18. Hi guys, new issue appeared in my game and I'm unsure how to avoid it currently. I'm playing on Path of the Damned difficulty and I've reached Neketaka. After explorer the first map and getting the quest to save Oswald, I figured I'd like to sail out and fight. Leaving Neketaka gives me the following however: To speed things along, here's a savegame: potd_issue.zip Load it up, check stats, leave Neketaka by sea, check stats again. (feel free to remove it to save forum space) -edit Now that I've loaded an earlier save, it seems to be at sea in general. Unsure if it's intended behavior. 2 other minor things I've noticed (but not really breaking) are: 1. Creating a new character shows incorrect sheet information while talking to Berath (sheet could state 60~ health, you'd get around 50). The 50 seems correct though and perhaps the 60 is for the next level? 2. Sometimes after leveling, your character will already obtain the HP of the next level without actually leveling up. So in the previous example, I'd have the folloiwing health: 60/50 instead of 50/50 and getting 60/60 after leveling up. Still loving the game, great work!
  19. Hi guys, After having restarted so many times, I've lost count (altitis, it's a thing). I've started noticing the following behavior: Start a new game and go up to the point where you awaken, you will notice the game autosaved. If you load that game and make a quicksave after loading, the game creates a "new character". Nothing too serious (though I couldn't trust it and restarted to be sure no voodoo lingers). Wanted to be sure it was noted. Thanks for reading. -edit And to add: If you do load inside the cabin, you will hear the typical "dwarf" text and the screen quickly moving from Berath inc. to the watcher.
  20. Just chiming in, a friend fixed his crash problem by repairing his installation (he had some decryption things going on earlier though and it was the steam version). So while it might not help, can't hurt to try I think. Quick google on GoG repair fetches this: https://support.gog.com/hc/en-us/articles/212807405-My-game-data-is-corrupt-How-can-I-repair-my-game- But as you're using linux, it's probably different. Perhaps you already tried, cheers and hopefully it will be fixed for you. You might also want to include your savegame here. (-edit using like a google drive link or something other than the forum itself)
  21. What I can recommend (maybe) is loading up Pillars 1 and "resave" your game, if you haven't done so. -edit, have to add: BACKUP first That being said: While I'm unsure if it will help, mine are named slightly differently: Like so: d3f2229e-e8c5-4768-b036-150dc056c928 gamecomplete.savegame In the folder: C:\Users\USERNAME\Saved Games\Pillars of Eternity\
  22. OEI doesn't have an unlimited budget and QA isn't cheap. I'd rather have diamonds in the rough than shiny garbage. Mac users definitely have a legitimate complaint though. Eder having an incorrect background is one thing, not being to play at all is another. It's a bumpy launch but looking back, POE was really actually done when all DLC was out anyway. Anyone remember the POE bug where your stats got bugged if you double clicked items instead of drag/dropping them? I don't have the patience to wait for patches and DLC though and, so far, this is everything I've wanted and more Playing POE2 makes POE feel like BG did when I started BG2 at the time.
  23. Hi guys, amazing work on this game and really loving it. One small caveat I've noticed (or rather am unable to unnotice) is the following ambient sound effect: ambient_sound_effect.mp3 At first I feared it was my computer running a bad fan but thankfully that wasn't the case. I also tried lowering the music but it appears to be a sound effect. In case you really can't hear it, it sounds like a fan dying or perhaps even an alarm going off far away. Maybe when recording, an alarm actually did sound in the background? It appears to be trying to mimic a bird and that's obviously OK, but that sound is CONSTANTLY repeating itself. I have to admit, I have turned down sound effects when I'm in an area that contains it. Maybe my ears are going bad ? Feel free to ignore it and instead take it as a kind request to look into separating Ambient and "normal" sound effects (swinging swords etc) in future games. Also if you're reading this and agree, feel free to join in
