Obituary thread
This is a bit sick. I read just an article about the comic artist Romona Fradon (being recently deceased), and the site populates a 'You might also like...' section full of other celebrity deaths.

Tim Cain's YouTube channel
Why? [serious question] Why would raising pay be on any company's agenda? By definition that increases operation costs, and reduces profits——both of which are counter to the point of running a company. If they could produce the products without the people, they would; if the people produce the products for the agreed upon price, then the company agenda would almost certainly be to remain at that cost or to reduce that cost if possible. *BTW this is not a bad thing; it's the ideal.

The Most UNDERRATED Fallout Game Ever
I told something similar to this to Maxx Kaufman (of InXile) in person, in Zots Cafe, and I don't think he and the others there appreciated it at all. Specifically (IRRC) I said this of Wasteland 2, being the best Fallout game I'd seen since Fallout 2. I don't think that they understood the gist of the sentiment, nor the high level of compliment.

Should a 2D Concept Artist Learn 3D Softwares to Proficiency?
Don't have any. It shocks people sometimes, but I've never needed, wanted, nor had any desire to maintain, check, or constantly update one. None. I can say the same for having an online gallery page. I run a webhost, but I've no personal pages of my own. Blender modeling examples: (But with placeholder textures) https://forums.inxile-entertainment.com/viewtopic.php?f=18&t=1702 ____________ BTW, I mistyped before, Clip Studio Paint has three month Windows & Mac trials, and is apparently entirely free for IPhones. Should a 2D Concept Artist Learn 3D Softwares to Proficiency?
In a word... Yes. 🤔 Knowing how to create concept work in a 3d package (even minimally) will allow you the benefits of the tools it offers, used both directly and indirectly in your designs. Just the simulated lighting alone is valuable. Blender's compositor is very powerful, and I use it quite often for rendering 2d composite images from 2d images on planes. Having the capability to work in 3D should speed up some designs, and make others simply—possible. _____________________ A software that any professional (and certainly a digital) artist should know about is Clip Studio Paint; they give a months long free trial. https://www.clipstudio.net/en/ Clip Studio has the ability to import (and actually use) 3D model data, and comes with 3D model maquettes for composing illustrations. I often import my work from Blender. From Blender into Clip Studio:

Random video game news... RNG says "Nope"
What a wonderful turn-key resource for stealing game assets, and creating fake in-game videos. *Indisputably useful, fun, and neat, but it will definitely be abused.

What Are you Playing Now: Living the Good Life
Possibly; it was the mustache and cheek that seemed like Arsenio to me. Weathers' cheek/head is more rounded. *Paula Abdul instead of CE.

Possibly Brian Dennehy, Carmen Electra and Arsenio Hall.

What Are you Playing Now: Living the Good Life
That's a failing of the artist's ability, to have to merely embellish the reference photo. 🤢 Bioware paid them for copyright-able assets, and they provided copied assets; with attached estate managers no less...

What Are you Playing Now: Living the Good Life
Pulling the same stunt? More likely it was the assigned artist cutting corners on them. I cannot believe that they would have left themselves open—gambling that D&D nerds would not notice. It didn't save them any money either.

Neverwinter Nights 2: Enhanced Edition
That's what we need! ...and Eye of the Beholder remaster! * Kidding 🤭 , though while in premise this is not bad—in practice, in today's gaming era, under the modern player/dev mentality... it would be painfully wretched. Like a Fallout 4 derived from Fallout (1) ; not even close to being a Legend of Grimrock clone— which itself is an EoB / DM clone.

Is the rubbished version a shader deformed version using the original item, or is it a manually deformed copy of the original asset?

Do new accounts still need moderator approval to post?
I'd suggest a captcha of an animated flag, with a word on it that is always distorted, and never appears fully in any frame. It should confound OCR, but they would just get teenagers to read it for them.
