Cyber- and Steampunk, western, gangsters, one of these or a mixup of sorts. No typical Tolkienic fantasy with swords, magic and elves thanks, sick and tired of that ****.

They also started a fire alarm at an MRA meeting after having a loud protest behind the door (don't remember if it was the same event as in the video).

Here's a nice roundup of 2014:

Are they trying to one-up BioWare's in the hilariously bad romance department? Somehow Twilight and Bioware reminded me of this:

Codex riling people up and crawling under their skin? Why I never... :D

65GB? Gah....

This whole thing has been utterly insane already from the very beginning.

Gotta say, that as a mere bystander for all this lunacy, this has been pretty fun to watch for all that it has offered. Good laughs.

Someone made some art of Art Chu's interview in the Pakman Show (recognize the faces?)

A bottle of 12-year-old Jameson yesterday. Today, water, coffee and ice cold cranberry juice.

Reminded me of this old strip: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Jy5vRGtKPY0 Anonymous or Anonyomous (at 0:01)?

I have a faint recollection of Sawyer (or someone else from the team) making a comment on that a few years back that there would've been problems with the developement timeframe (18 months) and the scope of the game if they had chosen to use another engine and build a game from scratch. That's what is probably meant with the often popping up "forced to use Bethesda's engine (and assets)". I may misremember, of course... Anyways, there's absolutely no need to FPSify the old games; it would only do a disservice to what they were and tried to achieve

Agreed. In general, I think they should try out things that aren't littering the marketspace already or mimicing them - be it mainstream or KS - something less expected and more of broader attempt at exploring what all could be done with cRPG's; what ever that might be in practice. This could probably exclude combat centric ISO/TB-RtWP games too, but... There is a number of those around and upcoming already.

Drama and games journalism, soggy leg joint edition

Look at the videos Indira posted. They are almost identical -- obviously apart from the party stuff and graphical detail.
-
Looks very much like Kingdoms of Amalur...

Or could it be that GI are so bad at playing that they can't handle a rudimentary button mashing (that PC World reviewer can) and think the combat is actually more that it really is?
-
I think it would be a neat little quirk if the game allowed me to - if I felt like it - roll the attributes. Manual selection is all well and good and I use that, but sometimes it just feels good to roll a random character and see what comes of him/her (and the current "one for all and all for one" attribute system would appear to support such in that you can't well screw up with rolling). I don't suppose it's particularly hard to implement either - a little complementary feature for number assigning like that.

You should give it a try. Once you get the hang if how the interfaces work, it's actually quite fun (for a game if its age).

Would team based turn based work well here?
Undecaf replied to wolfstriked's topic in Backer Beta Discussion
Yes, I think it would work better turnbased team-by-team or character-by-character. If that was ever to happen... but it isn't. -
Getting used to the PC controls of Hogs of War which GOG was kind enough to add in their catalogue. Just as fun a game so far as it was 14 years ago.

Dragon Age: Inquisition vs. The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt
Undecaf replied to ktchong's topic in Computer and Console
Witcher for me. Even if I'm wary of how W3 will end up, Bioware hasn't been making anything of interest to me in years and it doesn't seem like they're going to either.- 256 replies
