Wish I had space for a full tower, hm. I'll look around for one with a PCI that is still decent (MSI's Gaming 3 has 3, interestingly), but am not really averse to retiring the old XtremeMusic X-Fi.

Ah the PSU is a EVGA 220-G2-0750-XR. Friend suggested EVGA, so I nabbed one I saw listed for the price range. Might go with a Corsair offering. I may OC this machine after it is done, but am not sure and heard the H100i was decent enough for that - noise isn't that much of a concern for me, well as long as it's not turbine engine loud or something. One problem cooling PCs here is my room is a sauna in summer due to it being upstairs and poorly placed w.r.t. HVAC fan. I was not really convinced on the MSI main board, was looking at ones from ASRock or Gigabyte as an alternate. I guess I will spend more time looking up on features Hah, yes, good spot on the PCI slot - dumb mistake by me. Was a lazy grab off what the vendor had available. As Humanoid points out, the onboard may be good enough (past two Realtek experiences have turned me off, but things may have changed.) especially as I'm not using amazing headphones (some Sennheiser headset)

Oh, already have an SSD, got a 730 480Gb on Black Friday - just sitting around my room now

Good point. Am rather amused at people refusing to believe or belittling a reaction that will be anti-West from all of this, especially after they're done crowing about the Western victory here. Will be an interesting new year.

Think I've settled on Intel Core i7-4790K 4.0GHz Quad-Core Corsair H100i 77.0 CFM Liquid MSI Z97-GAMING 5 ATX LGA1150 Crucial Ballistix Sport 16GB (2 x 8GB) DDR3-1600 Western Digital WD Black 4TB 3.5" 7200RPM Asus GeForce GTX 970 4GB STRIX Fractal Design Define R4 (Black Pearl) ATX Mid Tower EVGA 750W ATX12V / EPS12V Asus DRW-24B1ST/BLK/B/AS DVD/CD Writer Microsoft Windows 8.1 Pro - 64-bit (OEM) (64-bit) Creative Labs Sound Blaster Audigy Rx Might change that RAM - is a low profile one so that's a plus. Might not need the sound card but I am pretty sure my X-Fi from '07 won't work with 8.1

Yes and you are assuming a company in it for money is making things in some sort of vacuum. Apparently Valve having quality control on Greenlight is a point of amusement for some - is there a lot of shovelware on there, usually?

I hope you're not seriously comparing a Bioware romance scene to youporn. People other than you are capable of having their own opinions. This includes Valve. You don't say? Likewise given the hand wringing over the game the first time it appeared what's your problem with the idea that they want to duck bad press from it ? Your kind is always funny.

Yeah, press had no bearing on it at all.

You are defending the US using South Africa as a place to torture people ?

Apparently some people were posting how they wanted Sarkeesian in the game to kill, perhaps that was why Valve decided to not bother with it. What they needed to do was dress up the mass murdering a bit more.

Well, have they really worked ? Crimea is still in Russian hands and the Good Ukranians still haven't won. I guess hurting Russia was an end in itself, but is it oil prices falling hurting more than sanctions ? Wait, what genocide was going in Libya, by the way ?

Why is this the right thing to do ? Manhunt is on Steam, too.

Fiddling with mods for GTA 4, rather shiny now, even if the night sky box is broken. Also finding it interesting how many shots civilians can take and not die.

France has never really been cozy with NATO, I had thought.

Borderlands 2. Next one I buy will be GTA 5 for the PC, spare myself the 50 GB download.

Shame she has too much ink for me.

If your conduct is dictated by reciprocity, perhaps you should stop pretending you have standards, it's that simple. It's also pointless, the quote from GTA V that torture is for the torturer to have fun is pretty accurate thinking about it. Also, are you trying to imply torture has stopped any attacks ?

Christmas party saw a guy get drunk while the rest of his table were egging him on to do stupid stuff, rather disappointing. Went over there and tried to dissuade them from doing that with little success until I called them a bunch of **** and left afterward. Was a decent party, Italian restaurant run by Russians, heh, but the waitress was pleasant as well

Interesting standards you hold. Also, why does it matter that we remember who we are fighting, exactly ? Funnily enough though, terrorists are probably operating under this kind of logic as well
