The Paper Doll Thread
It's is such a computer classic, I would love to see an updated version of it in PE.

Bows: Limited ammo?
Limitation brings forth the option of magical bows with unlimited ammo like in BG2. Also, with limitation, it would nice to have the option to recover some of your arrows. Especially magical ones that shouldn't break as easy as normal ones.

If you wanted another class...
I'd go with shaman. I consider a druid a shapeshifter.

What was your singular favorite spell among the IE games?
The Planescape: Torment ones had the best effects ever. In fact, I haven't seen a single game since then that made magic look nicer.

I don't want PE to be another Icewind Dale
I'm pretty sure that's not the direction this game is going toward.

Few race ideas and few class ideas
Skie Nightfall replied to l3loodangel's topic in Pillars of Eternity: General Discussion (NO SPOILERS)Yep, seems like we got enough classes, especially the addition of cipher adds nice variety. Wouldn't mind 1-2 more races though

Drugs
They can sure add flavor to the game-world and lore if appropriate. Fit nicely to Fallout. Even soft drinks and alcohol can be addictive

NPC Character Development
Skie Nightfall replied to Monte Carlo's topic in Pillars of Eternity: General Discussion (NO SPOILERS)I find it more realistic if the NPC auto level himself. However, in most games auto-leveled NPCs aren't really smart. A nice alternative to complete control would be just having an influence on the direction the NPC should go to, so you can fit him to different kind of parties in different play-throughs.

Well, I didn't want the 2.4 goal. Tough luck

Skie Nightfall replied to IndiraLightfoot's topic in Pillars of Eternity: General Discussion (NO SPOILERS)I'm content, so I would only vote for another (PC) race or two

Fallout style combat taunts
Skie Nightfall replied to molarBear's topic in Pillars of Eternity: General Discussion (NO SPOILERS)If they will be text only like Fallout, and with an option to to toggle them like Fallout, then yes. Problem: Real time combat... BTW! You're examples aren't combat taunts at all, they're just pip-boy descriptions o.o

Spells as Items or Spells as Abilities
That's the nice thing about the memorization system. A mage, like a warrior, preparing himself for a specific scenario. Doesn't work much in computer games that you have no way to get info on your next location. To make it work in computer games, some adjustments are needed.

This is the kind of cRPG combat that I like
What's the difference between Arcanum and ToEE? Both are turn based no? There should be a mana based option, without cooling, but with other stuff.

[merged] Vancian Magic System and cooldowns
Skie Nightfall replied to oldmanpaco's topic in Pillars of Eternity: General Discussion (NO SPOILERS)I like the Vancian system but it needs a lot of lore around it to fit a setting (e.g. I liked how it was explained in the DragonLance novels). Regardless of how much I like it, it fails in computer games, because there's no place for most spells at all. Even a lot of spells that did make it to BG2 are useless (BG1 was small scale anyway). Most use was combat oriented spells. This brings me to another point, no matter what magic system they end up using, I hope they but general and toolkit spells in and have a use to them! Really, I think the Quest for Glory series had the best variety of useful magic. A Mana system could work, in my opinion, if it doesn't regenerates. Combine it with the elements from Vancian, that you'd have to rest to recover your "mana". It also doesn't have to recover fully! It should be like health, making you think carefully about how you use it, without having to memorize specific spells. A systems like ad&d sorcerer could also work. Having a certain amount of spells you can cast from each "power level".

For RP/customization sake, please allow us to keep the same "armor/weapon" look if we want for new euqipment.
It kinda sounds the exact opposite of RP, so the topic is wrong. A warrior shouldn't care how is armor looks but how good it is in keeping us alive. That's roleplaying a warrior. "Roleplaying" your ugly armor is beautiful doesn't sound so valid to me. (Indifferent toward the idea itself, but at least make your point valid)
