  1. Yes, you can use custom portraits.
  2. Male elf head 2/3 skin color is white. Changing skin color has no effect. Bonus: Male elf head hair 1/10 and 10/10 are the same (bald).
  3. Player character voices cutting short when running game time on double speed. Works fine when on slow and normal speed.
  4. Don't think it's just you but to me personally the animations are "good enough". Don't mind if they polish them a little but it wouldn't "break my immersion" if they are final. I think I saw BAdler or some other dev say that they would still do something to the animations, like make them smoother or something like that but I doubt they will do anything major. Their priorities are elsewhere. Maybe if they have time and money left when everything else is in place. Of course this is only speculation, my personal opinions etc. Edit: A bit off-topic but am I the only one who thinks this "this and that breaks my immershun" thing in games has gone a bit overboard of late? I mean, maybe it's because I've played games since the mid 80's but I don't see how animations, turn-based combat, silent protagonist or similar could break anyone's immersion. If the overall game is good, that's the only thing I need to get myself immersed. Maybe it's just me.
  5. I don't own a tablet and I'm not that into card games so I'll probably pass on the card game. However I am excited about this announcement since it does mean there's a huge chance we will be seeing an Obsidian made Pathfinder crpg sooner or later.
  6. I believe that was spotted at Gamescom. I doubt they would put up something like that just for laughs. In any case interesting. AAA or Kickstarter?
  7. Obsidian has said several times that the reason there won't be romances is because they don't have resources to make them right. No reason to add something half-assed into the game when the time and money can be used somewhere else. I don't care if the game has romances or not but come on. I'm starting to think that people actually don't care what kind of romances there are as long as the game has them. Maybe Obsidian should add something like Saints Row IV had and there you go! Anyways, even if Obsidian reconsiders it I don't think adding them would be possible at this point. The game is content locked and ~4 months away from release. They would have to make changes in the game, delay it and probably run out of money.
  8. Actually in the lastest(?) D:OS livestream (the one with the Eurogamer guy) Swen Vincke said that the overall budget for D:OS was about the same as Eternity and Torment. While I do like the VO in D:OS, I still think the money should be spent elsewhere. And in D:OS it was great at first but when you are hearing the same thing over and over and over and over and over and over, it really did get on my nerves (don't know if it has been fixed yet).
  9. Option #1 has 2/4 games in early access while apparently option #2 has none. I've only played Goodbye Deponia from option #2 but I know something about Secret Files (I believe that game is the third one in the series) and The Last Door has come up when I've had discussions about good new point 'n click adventure games. No clue about Stranded.
  10. How I read it was that TOR actually IS still counted as canon. Dunno, to me it's not canon no matter what they say. In any case, Obsidian would still need Disney's / Lucasarts' permission and them to greenlight the project before they could do it.
  11. Not doing it right. Worst, GAFriend, show him how we do things. Obsidian just shot themselves in the foot.I don’t know how much the rest of you know about Kickstarter development culture (I’m an expert), but honor and shame are huge parts of it. It’s not like it is in the normal videogame industry where you can become successful by being an ****. If you screw someone over with Kickstarter, you bring shame to yourself, and the only way to get rid of that shame is repentance. What this means is the Kickstarter backers, after hearing about this, are not going to want to play Pillars of Eternity, nor will they purchase any of Obsidian’s games. This is HUGE. You can laugh all you want, but Obsidian has alienated an entire market with this move. Feargus Urquhart, publicly apologize and post the update NOW or you can kiss your business goodbye. Right on the money.
  12. They do have something up in their sleeves. https://twitter.com/Obsidian/status/446713783080087552
  13. Like I said, I read it from somewhere and asked if that was it or was it something else but I do know I have read that something similar has happened. I just didn't remember if it was with New Vegas or was it even with Obsidian to begin with.
  14. I remember reading about the changed release date somewhere. Was it the case when they basically learnt about the new release date from an ad before Bethesda actually informed them about it or am I making stuff up? Anyho, tomorrow GDC 2014 starts but does anyone know when will they actually make the announcement? Can't wait!
  15. How about sending this letter of yours to Ubisoft? They were the ones who made the decision to censor it, not Obsidian. I get it that people are mad/sad/whatever about it being censored but there are several topics, Obsidian tweets and whatnots about this, Obsidian can't do anything about it. Not their decision or call. And about the swastikas in German releases. It kinda is the law there so there were two options, 1. remove swastikas and get the game released, or 2. keep the swastikas and not release the game there at all. I'm not an expert in German laws but from what I've heard the reason why swastikas can't be shown in games is because in Germany games are classified as toys, not art. I believe it is because of this the anal probing etc. has to be censored from the German release as well. Yes, the censorship at this day and age is very unfortunate but that's just the way it is. Edit: Forgot to mention about the fact(?) that PEGI already passed the game uncut but it still got censored. It was Ubisoft's decision.
  16. Don't know if he has started with the novella but I know he has said he actually enjoyed Arcanum: https://twitter.com/ChrisAvellone/status/401390650697859072 And the reason he hasn't completed his playthrough yet is because he has been... well, busy.
  17. I was coming to post this too. I find it interesting that some of the reviews say it is a buggy mess while other reviews and some players have said they didn't encounter a single bug during their playthroughs. Dunno if those "buggy mess" reviewers are too critical because it's developed by Obsidian (if it was developed by say.. Bioware for example, they would be making songs and poems about how awesome it was and never mentioning it's problems) or does those bugs show themselves when the weather outside is cloudy or what.
