  1. True dat. And I had lots of humor in my post. Well, sarcasm. Which was as funny as his post. WHO'S THE HUMORLESS ONE NOW, HUH?! Edit: Actually you might be on to something. When I was reading these forums back in '04 or '05, I remember reading posts by Volourn which were quite positive compared to posts he's writing nowadays*. Something must've happened and now we know what. Damn you Obsidian! Aaaanyways, Raven salutes LucasArts with release of Jedi Knight II source code. And I'll have another Star Wars RPG, with another Dark Forces / Jedi Knight game on the side and with extra Tie Fighter sauce, thank you. *Or maybe I was drunk.
  2. No. they would have to get Disney's permission. Which is not going to happen. The game is 8 years old. Let. It. Go. And besides, the game is already patched by fans. It's called TSLRCM. What are you talking about? Are you actually trying to say that THQ and LucasArts are no more because of Obsidian? Yeah, Obsidian has worked with Bethesda, inXile and Disney among others so we just have to wait and see them die. Maybe not tomorrow or even in a year but I guarantee they are dead in 20 years or so. All because of Obsidian, right? Geez... Oh no, I just realized something. We are on Obsidian's forums. Obsidian's curse must be on us already! Ok, I may have gone overboard with this post but seriously, come on.
  3. From what I've gathered they are owners. Or at least Avellone's LinkedIn profile says he's a co-owner.
  4. When THQ delayed release date back in November, it never was set back for being released on March 5th. At least not officially by Ubisoft or THQ. Steam had release date set to March 5th and THQ as a publisher a month after Ubisoft bought the rights. The point is, if Ubisoft or THQ didn't announce after the November delay that the release date is back at March 5th then it wasn't meant to be released then. If you didn't hear about the delay and some store or website still had the release date set as March 5th that does not mean it was the actual release date two weeks prior and it does not make it meaningless. There are some stores that say it's release date is December 31st 2013 but it is a placeholder date. Zavvi.com has April 26th 2013 as a release date but that too is a placeholder. Only "sure" thing we know about it that it will be released in 2013 and we have to wait for Ubisoft's official announcement for exact date. Do you have any links for these Ubisoft's fixing etc. comments? I know they wanted to look it over, check it and such but if you have something where they said the other things, that would be helpful, thanks. That can't be true. While your local game store might have said that (and maybe they actually thought it would be released in March 5th) but THQ already sold majority of their rights back in January, including South Park, and Obsidian has nothing to do with release dates, they just develop the game so I doubt they said anything about the game being released in March. And you are not wasting any of my time. If you were, I wouldn't be posting anything.
  5. Why did this need a new thread when there is already a few where this is discussed? Anyways, if Ubisoft has not announced the release date then no, there is no new official info. The game was delayed from the March 5th release date to fiscal 2014 (which is April 2013 - March 2014) back in November by THQ so it shouldn't be a surprise. Pre-order questions should be addressed to the store where you pre-ordered it from. And who said Ubisoft is "fixing" it? They spent 3.2 million dollars for the publishing rights so I believe they want to check it and possibly evaluate what has been done, what still needs to be done etc.
  6. Maybe you should read his post again. He never said he KNOWS that multiplayer in BG wasn't good. And he is right. I actually did play mp in BG and IWD. I didn't like it in BG because it was clearly done single player in mind and one main character (and if he/she died, it was game over) felt too restrictive to me and my friends among other things. Did like multiplayer in IWD 1 & 2 though. My friends and I had a blast with those. That being said, no. I don't want multiplayer in PE. Maybe in the possible PE2 but stick with the single player in PE.
  7. THQ already postponed the release from March 5th to Q2 2013 (meaning it would have been released somewhere between April 1st - June 30th) in 2012 before they went bankrupt so the game being delayed should not have been surprise anyways. That being said, I'll try to answer your questions. I do not represent Obsidian, Ubisoft or South Park Studios so don't take my word as an official statement. I'm just a regular guy who stalks these forums. 1) You should ask this question in Ubisoft's forums. I doubt you'll get answers on the actual release date but you have better chance there than on Obsidian's forums. 2) "We can't comment (Ubi would need to) but generally you'll see Dec 31 dates for games when the exact date isn't yet settled/known." https://twitter.com/Obsidian/status/306152546161012736. It being delayed so it can be offered on PS4, we do not know but I myself doubt it. 3) I think this depends on the store where you pre-ordered it. But I am curious about them stealing your time already...? 4) What payment issues? The reason it is being delayed (and this is hearsay) is because Ubisoft wants one of their internal studios to take a look at it before it's released. It was shortly discussed in here.
  8. I'm not seeing many publishers willing to sign PC only for a South Park-sized project, tbh, though the PC market is a lot healthier and getting a lot of attention, and I can see Obsidian getting the chance to do more stuff that previously might not have been as financially viable. True, but stranger things have happened But on a more serious note. I'm thinking (okay throwing a wild guess) that this new project is Deus Ex: Human Defiance. Some finnish site is reporting that both the internal teams at Eidos Montreal are working on something else, so who would Square-Enix turn to make a sequel(?) to their hit game... Would also make some sense why team was buying blueprints Hmmh.. Didn't someone from Obsidian tweet last year that they were visiting Eidos Montreal? Or maybe I remember wrong. Or Deus Ex: Human Defiance will be Deus Ex the Movie and this is something completely different which is quite possible.
  9. Yea that was only the third time it was mentioned in here but thanks anyway.
  10. This is the part that interests me. Why would Ubisoft want their internal studios to take a look at it? Moving it from Obsidian to another dev? Something to do with Uplay?
  11. Don't know from which build that video is but considering that it was, like you said, obviously heavily WIP and Sawyer I believe said that it was not even close to being finished when it was canned, I think that looked ok. Of course I'm easy to please but the potential was there.
  12. It was in Update #15. You don't have to name your first born after me, here to help.
  13. Watched the countdown hit zero and bought it straight away. Installed the unofficial 2.4 patch with the widescreen modes etc. Works like a charm. Good times.
  14. So, what's happening with this game? I know it's still coming out but some new info would be nice. Haven't heard anything from Obsidian nor Ubisoft after the auction. I don't like this silence. It reminds me of the last few weeks before Aliens RPG was officially cancelled.
  15. There is no shareware in GoG. And maybe you should go check their games again. While they have more older titles, I wouldn't exactly call Witcher 2 for example as "not big budget/blockbuster" game. I could be wrong here but the reason why GoG doesn't have that many of these new big budget games is that the publishers are not that fond to the idea of selling their games without DRMs.
  16. App developer turns to crowdfunding to buy Homeworld IP from THQ
  17. We actually know a good deal about what the plot/goal would have been. Wiki has a summary on it, gathered from various interviews with the devs back in the day. http://en.wikipedia....The_Black_Hound Thing is, I'm not sure what the point would have been to call it BG3, beyond the obvious marketing/sales benefit of doing so. Because it otherwise isn't even remotely related to the first two games in plot or setting. That is the Black Isle's BG3. I think Monte meant BG3 that Obsidian almost did for Atari.
  18. I'm on Tomb Of Freedon Nadd PVP (both sides but mostly play on Reps because of the guild) and I do have few Imp characters on The Progenitor but I haven't logged in there for months.
  19. This. Oh yeah. We promised the folks who donated $10k we'd get that beard off and we're going to get that beard off! (It might not happen for awhile though - he's entering another beard contest and we want to give him a shot at winning something, because...) ...the only thing better than shaving a beard on camera is shaving a PRIZE-WINNING beard! Don't cut his beard, it's epic. Or at least wait and see that all 10k pledges comes through first.
