Israel tried to help their economic development, but it's hard to do when they keep sending suicide bombers.

It's kept in that state because it's at war with Israel, mostly by its own government which spends all its money on weapons and tunnels. The tunnels under the Israeli border didn't even have their exits open, as soon as they're used they would be discovered, they're one time use only. Anyway, you sound like you're 13 at best, so I'm through talking with you.

Has your incredible bias completely blinded you to the facts? Do you not realize there were something like 30 tunnels dug under the Israeli border, preparing for a huge attack, potentially with thousands of victims, for the fall? Not to mention incessant rocket attacks from Gaza. This is what you call not rocking the boat? Tunnels digged in a blockaded area that is lacking food, water and medicine, and where needed supplies can be brought in via said tunnels? IMPOSSIBLE! First, tunnels used for smuggling are under the Egyptian border, the tunnels under the Israeli border are purely for terrorist attacks. Second, humanitarian supplies are not blockaded, only things which could be used for military purposes, which Hamas has been able to obtain anyway so far. Why don't you stop spouting off about things you obviously know nothing about?

Do you not realize there were something like 30 tunnels dug under the Israeli border, preparing for a huge attack, potentially with thousands of victims, for the fall? Not to mention incessant rocket attacks from Gaza. This is what you call not rocking the boat? Yes, and Israel has ****ING NUCLEAR WEAPONS. Hypocrisy much? Way to change the subject. You claim Hamas wasn't rocking the boat, I point out they were massively investing into terrorist tunnels, then you bring up nuclear weapons, which have nothing to do with anything. Are you saying Israel doesn't need to defend themselves because they have nuclear weapons, or that they should go ahead and use them? Israelis only discovered a few of the tunnels accidentally because of heavy rains. The reason Hamas tunnel attacks weren't more successful (although successful enough from Israeli point of view) is because they happened in the middle of a military operation, and also they were expected. Had they all happened simultaneously and by surprise, it could've been far worse. The fact that they haven't been used as soon as they were built tells me they were being saved up for a single spectacular attack

You know, the exact opposite of what you said. How enlightening a trip to wikipedia can be. I said IPCC admitted there's very little evidence global warming causes catastrophic weather events. Nothing in your quote contradicts that. The last time IPCC claimed that was in AR4, in 2007. This is the same end of the world crap Malthusians have been peddling for over 200 years! Edit : Also, deserts "greening" from rising CO2 http://wattsupwiththat.com/2013/07/08/deserts-greening-from-rising-co2/

Israel can't just do nothing while rockets are being fired all over the country. Even if most have been shot down or hit empty land, quite a few have hit civilian targets. Hamas refuses to accept a ceasefire. People can't live constantly running for the shelter for weeks on end. It's amazing there are some who just can't understand that. The only option for Israel right now is to continue the ground offensive until the rocket fire ceases one way or the other. In other news, for the second time UN finds Hamas rockets in their schools : http://www.foxnews.com/world/2014/07/22/hamas-hiding-rockets-in-schools-children-playgrounds-israel-and-un-agency-say/

None of what you stated is evidence, and most of it isn't even true. The earth is greener now than a century ago and producing more food than at any time in its existence. Even the IPCC had to admit there's virtually no evidence global warming has anything to do with catastrophic weather events. May be you should read up on that. Edit: Btw, the food shortages and high food prices had to do with the idiotic greeny warmist idea of using food for fuel, i.e. corn ethanol, one of the most destructive ideas ever, as well as other factors. Now the warming lunatics don't want African countries to develop because that would cause an increase in consumption of fossil fuels. If anyone is trying to keep people in the dark ages it's people like you.
-
Desire or lack of evidence? No, he's not a respected climate authority, he's a creationist & a crank. http://rationalwiki.org/wiki/Roy_Spencer http://www.realclimate.org/index.php/archives/2011/04/review-of-spencers-great-global-warming-blunder/ Both sources you're quoting have a known agenda, which is to attack anyone who questions the global warming hysteria. Rational wiki article is just a bunch of unsubstantiated accusations and name calling, such as where are the links and the evidence? RealClimate is more respectful, but doesn't show that anything Spencer stated is incorrect so far as I can see. Edit: OK, after I posted, I noticed that my quote from rationalwiki does in fact have a link in it. I would agree his belief in ID as scientific theory does somewhat undermine his credibility, although I think his main point is that evolution theory has many holes in it.
-
OK, so you've got both an ad hominem and a strawman argument all in the same post. Dr Spencer is a well respected climate authority, so if you're going to cast aspersions you need to challenge something he's actually said. As far as energy efficiency, reducing pollution, almost no one is against that. What reasonable people are against is the idea that fossil fuels must be eliminated as soon as possible, regardless of the cost, else the world will end.

It's interesting that although Putin blamed Ukraine for the incident (for supposedly starting the conflict), he did not actually accuse them of the shoot down itself. Surely he knows who did it.

I think saying they bring nothing of value to the system is unfair. For example fraud is rampant in Medicare, our version of single payer. But that's beside the point, you seemed to be saying single payer fosters more competition, and I was hoping for an explanation of how it does that. Btw, single payer is also a middleman, in either case you need someone to collect (forcibly in case of single payer) the premiums and distribute the benefits.
-
You seem to be saying universal coverage promotes competition. I don't follow the logic there.

I'm sure that type of health care might work well at the convent, but for the majority of the human race, sex and health go hand in hand. The healthcare industry is involved in our sex lives for a lot of reasons, and there is no reason that should change. It's how we keep child birth safe and prevent the spreading of STD's. Do you even know how birth control pills work? That's not something you should be buying off some street corner, you need a real doctor in charge of that type of hormonal chemistry. Also you seem to be arguing that companies shouldn't provide health insurance at all. That would be fantastic, I would love to have affordable health care available that wasn't tied to my job. Unfortunately that is not the world we live in. So if companies are going to be the ones providing the bulk of health care to people, I don't think they should have carte blanche on what my health care options are. I want trained medical professionals deciding what should be available to me, not some CEO. It's the political hacks at HHS decided that contraceptives had to be covered, not trained medical professionals. Not every procedure/drug has to be covered by an insurance policy to provide reasonable health insurance. Congress itself recognized that there could be moral objections to providing certain coverage, ACA specifically states that abortions don't need to be covered. So yeah, it's reasonable to expect your health insurance to cover you if you get sick, and it's also reasonable to expect you to pay for your own contraceptives.
-
They don't, you're welcome to pay for it yourself. It's also dubious whether contraceptives are actually healthcare, since sex isn't a disease. Why is it that people feel entitled to have someone else pay for them anyway? Your employer has to pay you for time worked, how you spend that money is your business.

agreed, but real world french and quebecers frequent inspire in us the same urge, soooo... *shrug* her accent isn't all that different from anne paillaud when she does english-speaking films. no doubt you can find clips o' the man in the iron mask or innocent blood. is not an excuse as Gromnir has never been a particular fan o' the french accent, faux french accents, jaunty beret, crêpes, or poor showings in world wars neither. HA! Good Fun! Well, technically they only showed poorly in one world war.
