  1. Except it isn't true. http://www.cnn.com/2014/10/08/politics/jeh-johnson-duncan-hunter-isis/ He meant "so that the public doesn't learn the truth". I'd believe Judicial Watch over the Feds any day, the Feds have been caught lying again and again, speaking of mainstream sources the Washington Post discovered another White House cover up just today. But I'll concede the facts about ISIS are in dispute at this point. Edit: That's citing. Do you understand that the mainstream news outlets also have a very specific agenda, like getting Obola elected? Over 90% of mainstream journalist are Democrats.
  2. Sure, who's going to volunteer though, we're not obligated to put ourselves in danger. Also it works a little different with your own citizens than with another country, else we'd be responsible for fixing all the world's ills.
  3. Not at all. It would be a case of incompetence; not murder. Failing to save some one is not murder. If you have the ability to save someone an intentionally choose not to, than yes it is murder. Btw, the deputy who was hospitalized yesterday was tested and is OK.
  4. They're here : http://pjmedia.com/tatler/2014/10/08/judicial-watch-four-isis-terrorists-arrested-in-texas-in-the-last-36-hours/
  5. Anyone sane will. But I thought Nigeria doesn't currently have an outbreak. Btw, one of the deputies who was in Duncan's apartment is sick. They say chances that it's Ebola are low though.
  6. Yes, really hard to transmit : http://www.medindia.net/news/virus-pioneer-says-you-cant-overprotect-against-ebola-142228-1.htm#ixzz3FYp6mAvr
  7. No one's tried that experiment so far as I know. But here's the psychopath lying his head off : http://twitchy.com/2014/10/01/bombshell-watch-cdc-director-deny-then-admit-that-ebola-can-be-spread-by-casual-contact-video/
  8. These are experts on the subjects saying this. The lies come when we're repeatedly told that Ebola can not be transmitted through air, when in reality that's nothing but an educated guess at best. Even the psychopath head of the CDC had to admit in a CNN interview that someone can get infected if sick individual sneezes on them, and in fact being within 3 feet of an infected individual is a risk according to CDC guidelines, not just "direct contact" that's been touted. As far as peer review, where's the peer review paper that says Ebola can only be transmitted by direct contact?
  9. Not all traffic from Africa, just non-essential travel from countries with Ebola epidemics (3 of them). That would be very simple. Most African countries have done so already. Here's an update on the Enterovirus: http://well.blogs.nytimes.com/2014/10/02/enterovirus-68-what-you-need-to-know/?_php=true&_type=blogs&_php=true&_type=blogs&ref=science&_r=1& I read that in the schools where children exposed to Duncan were attending, they've put in automatic temperature scanners to give early warning of anyone developing symptoms. That seems like a good idea in all schools all the time, American parents have the unfortunate habit of sending their sick children to school because they can't miss work, turning schools into germ factories. Tylenol once had an absolutely amazing commercial where a mother gave Tylenol to a feverish child so that he could go and play with his friends! Isolating children with fever would do wonders to improve overall health. Edit: Btw, a nurse in Spain just came down with Ebola, so that's the first case of transmission in a Western country.
  10. I don't see what's so troubling, no one has died of a nuclear weapon in US yet, but we should still worry about the possibility. It's not that I'm dismissing the danger of the Enterovirus, it's just that there appears nothing we can do about it, while the spread of Ebola to the US would be relatively easy to stop at this stage. Edit: Also, Colbert is a clown and an idiot, you do poorly by citing him. First, no one's claiming there's been an outbreak yet, only that it's now possible, and second the stuff he says about CDC competent response at the beginning of the video is patently not true, I can give you several examples. Couldn't watch any more, just can't stomach that guy.
  11. By intentionally allowing their citizens to be potentially exposed to a deadly contagious disease, which they could've easily prevented (exposure, not the disease).
  12. It's certainly worrisome, but doesn't seem to have anywhere near the mortality rate of Ebola, seems to be more like the flu. Two weeks of food won't do squat if you're trying to sit out an epidemic. Realistically any country that has people arriving from Western Africa should be concerned about Ebola. But we also know that one of the main reasons for the rampant spread of the virus in Western Africa is due to the poor healthcare infrastructure and the fact that many of the people infected are not educated and are superstitious. So the victims don't understand how to properly treat Ebola This shouldn't an issue for Western countries, we know that the experimental drug used to treat several infected Westerners has worked and we also know that Western countries understand the importance of the principle of quarantine. So even if Ebola does start spreading in the USA I am confident it can be contained and addressed so that it doesn't become this epidemic Does SA let in people from affected countries? Also they've run out of that drug, apparently they can only make very small quantities. Well the incubation period is up to 3 weeks, it's only been a week or so since he was isolated, though I certainly hope everyone will be OK. If anyone else gets it, our government will be guilty of attempted murder or actual murder. It was just reported though I don't know if it's true that 9 other people got infected from the woman that Duncan was supposedly infected by.
  13. I'm definitely interested in hearing your continued (as spoiler-free as possible) impressions of Crimes ans Punishment once you play it some more. I'd love to play a good Sherlock Holmes game. I'm stuck in the first case. I seemed to have done everything right according to the guide, but at one point a character doesn't spawn, so I can't proceed. Pretty sure it's a bug, but may be only on 360, I haven't been able find anyone else having that problem. As far as gameplay, definitely a matter of preference. You hunt for clues, have conversations which only have options according to the evidence you find, make deductions, and based on that find more evidence and have more conversations. Not the most exciting thing in the world but fun for some, I'm liking it. There's also an occasional mini-game or puzzle. Game definitely seems more logical than most puzzle adventures, so that's a big plus. The most annoying thing is to constantly have to shuttle back and forth between Baker Street, Scotland Yard, and the crime scene (basically a fairly long load each time). My bad, it's not a bug. I contacted tech support and I missed what seemed like a very minor clue. This is the walkthrough they direct you to if you get stuck : http://www.gameboomers.com/wtcheats/pcSs/SH7/SH7.htm The way you know you missed evidence is the task in your journal to investigate an area doesn't go away when you think you're done.
  14. Yeah, I always thought preppers were crazy. I guess I'm the crazy one.
  15. To start off, may be we've been lied to about it not being airborne : http://www.cidrap.umn.edu/news-perspective/2014/09/commentary-health-workers-need-optimal-respiratory-protection-ebola

  17. Sorry to keep derailing the thread, but this is interesting : http://westhunt.wordpress.com/2014/10/03/disaster-in-the-south-pacific/
  18. Got Sherlock Holmes: Crimes and Punishments, pretty good so far. It's kind of like an adventure-puzzle game, but instead of arbitrary puzzles you have to make logical deductions based on the evidence you uncover. Also finished Highpool in Wasteland 2, so far a great game, right up there with the best RPG's I've played; and I tend to get bored with the old RPG's, so I was surprised how it immediately drew me in. Also have Xenonauts, and about 3-4 other games in my rotation, kind of unmanageable. Problem is I play so slow, and PC games are so long.
  19. A hundred people have been exposed to that guy, how would you like to be one of them? But I guess it's OK so long as it's someone else. I'm pretty sure I've gotten exposed to SARS and the Bird Flu, given all my students spend holidays in Asia. But yeah, it's a bit early to condemn the government when right now we have one guy who is quarantined and all the people he was in close contact are being watched and isolated. What else are you looking for in a response to this? Should we send everyone into the fallout bunkers immediately? You students had SARS and Bird Flu? What we should do is stop having random people from affected countries be able to come here for any reason, most African countries have those restrictions already, which is the only way the epidemic hasn't spread to them.
  20. A hundred people have been exposed to that guy, how would you like to be one of them? But I guess it's OK so long as it's someone else.
  21. When a state refuses to even protect its citizens from Ebola, it is well and truly useless.
  22. This is the distinction I've always worked with. Ideologically Fascism often also refers to a Golden Past, whereas Communism often talks about the Golden Future. So there are conservative vs reformative differences as well. Edit: Propaganda wise we see big differences too, that allude to the underlying psychology of the regimes. Fascism and Nazism took their clues from the Roman Empire, both in symbolism but also in elevating the "First among Men" and the strong leader cult. Whereas communist regimes took a new approach and appealed much more the the "low" and the rise of "the collective" through the elevation of "the common man". Much in the same way Christianity and Judaism did, which I suspect is also why they were so keen to get rid of that competition. Ah, that's not the case at all. No one's done the cult of personality like Communist regimes, whether Lenin, Stalin, Mao or the Kims.
  23. What crimes have they been charged with by the FBI, the courts, or the US Government? They are on an unindicted contact list for a charity that is linked to Hamas, that's hardly a smoking gun. But hey, maybe they are just a front for the big bad wolf. So what on their website is meant to corrupt the youth (or whatever their seedy agenda is)? It's funny that you accuse me of being politically correct when you seem very quick to jump on the anti-muslim bandwagon without hesitation. Attacking Islam and the 1.6 billion Muslims worldwide is a much more popular choice in the US than engaging different cultures and having an open dialogue about differences. They were founded to shill for Hamas and MB, do you have no reading comprehension, it's right there in the quote from their founder I posted, he uses the word front, he talks about not displaying their true colors. And I'm not attacking Muslims in general, many of them are good US allies, like the Egyptian government, I'm exposing what's been proven to be a terrorist linked organization, read the quote from the judge again; whose main purpose is to lower our anti-terrorism defenses to pre-9/11 levels and infringe on the right of free speech to criticize their Sharia agenda. And thanks to the people who think like you and our Clown in Chief president, they're succeeding brilliantly.
  24. So the FBI, the courts, the US government are all garbage sources? You really can't contradict any of the evidence, only launch ad hominem attacks. I think you actually have your own religion, which is based on believe and can not be contradicted by any facts. It's called PC.
  25. I "cherry picked" the quotes which were actually relevant to the thesis. Most of the stuff you posted proves nothing, except the one where your own beloved California chapter encouraged its members not to cooperate with FBI's counterterrorism investigations, "build a wall of resistance", a poster they only took down once a firestorm of controversy erupted. Forget it, you can lead a horse to water, but you can't make it drink. Edit: So all the people I quoted, the people who've been warning about the danger of Islamism for years and years, and have been proven right time and again, are all conspiracy theorists to you?
