  1. Now that we're two weeks into this, are you perhaps starting to think that your player base is just too old and ornery for making memes?
  2. Choosing to attend and speak at literal Hitler-quoting far-right hate group events probably doesn't do him any favors either.
  3. planet of lana cheat engine's speedhack doesn't work on this game for reason, so it got uninstalled pretty promptly after I had to slowly crouch walk under something for the umpteenth time in the intro billiam shakesman once said that brevity is the soul of wit, which is just a fancy way of saying QUIT WASTING MY TIME also, why can't 2d platformers that are trying to be pretty have gameplay just a little closer to Donkey Kong Country and a little farther away from clunky walkathon Limbo, it'd do them a whole lot of good to have some kind of gameplay that isn't only "hold right" and "stop holding right until you can hold right again"
  4. you used to be able to CARRY cats and dogs back in 2006 (Twilight Princess), we've only gone backwards really
  5. . . . The End of Bosco Adventure. Something about all of this feels just a little bit off to me. Oh well, it was a mostly lighthearted and decent show, though I probably wouldn't particularly recommend it to anyone here - it's kind of in that Legendary Idol Eriko tier of shows that's certainly watchable and fine enough, but not so much more than that that I would press anyone else to watch it.
  6. Maybe Laika shouldn't have made their protagonist so annoying that I wanted him to get horrifically maimed just ten minutes in - get a new one and restart the movie, please. Grumble, grumble. ...I liked the song, though.
  7. I have been recommended Eisenhorn (and the closely related Ravenor and Bequin series) a number of times by people of various tastes, including a couple of people whose opinions on books I trust to a pretty decent degree...but I've been told by most of the same people to stay far away as I can from the Horus Heresy*. Which seems very obvious for a 60+ book series written by...30, 40 authors or something like that? Even if it started out good, it is against all manner of reason that it could possibly stay good. *And really most of the rest of WH40K, but that's a whole other thing.
  8. Man, if that ain't the truth - at least for the section of people who don't reliably vote by nature. It's definitely a double-edged sword: both sides are hyper-energized to vote when Trump is on the ballot. It creates weird and difficult to predict results in both directions, and I'm not super keen on an unpopular Biden (although he was already unpopular leading up to 2020's election anyways) facing him off again, which I think I've been making mention of here on the Obsidian forums practically since the day Biden won the last election. I want the Trump era of U.S. politics to be over and done with, but sadly, I think it's here to stay one way or another for the foreseeable future: the entire political paradigm has changed so much we'll be suffering the effects for at least the next decade (...and most likely a lot longer after even that).
  9. Yeah, uh, I don't think Biden has much to worry about with regards to that crackpot, at least at this particular moment. Even somebody who heavily distrusts polling* should probably feel a little skeptical when it's a 60 point difference. *Which is almost always the result of their inability to parse statistical information and how fuzzy probabilities regarding uncertain outcomes work. But people going "my candidate was given a 20% chance to win and they did just barely win so EVERYTHING IS A LIE AND THE POLLERS ARE STUPID [even though that's literally the exact outcome that the 20% was accounting for]" is always pretty hilarious. The more things change, the more they stay the same.
  10. Palme no Ki AKA A Tree of Palme (2002). So I'd never heard of this film until just a few days ago...and nobody else has ever heard of or watched this film either, as best as I can tell. When I looked at a few screencaps of it, I...had a few questions. Like, who even made this obvious Studio Ghibli film rip-off? And secondly, why does it look...surprisingly good? But for as good as it looks, it's rated quite badly, so it's probably not any good...right? Strongly recommended, although it is very difficult to find an HD copy of this film with subtitles (or even the English dub, which I have not heard yet - actually, this is how I came across the film in the first place, as it was listed as something ADV FIlms dubbed and distributed, the same people who did Neon Genesis Evangelion). From what I can tell, no blu-rays were ever released and only Amazon Prime ever carried the HD version and it was for a limited time, and they didn't include either English subtitles or the English dub with it, for some reason. Which is weird, because there is an English script for it out there. Initially, all I had was a terrible bootleg DVD, and I played it and I was like "whoa, whoa, hold on a second...okay, there has to be a better version of this out there, right?". Lo and behold, there was. I guess if anybody is actually curious enough to watch it and can't find any avenues for doing so, I could help you, just send me a PM.
  11. Oh, that makes sense I wouldn't have a good impression of where it was used then, as that sudden jump back to the present after almost all of the first 40 minutes being a childhood flashback was probably my least favorite part of the film, .
  12. Yeah, long gone are the days where music like Teremtés could actually fit right into anime. ...Though I actually couldn't tell you precisely when this song was used in Only Yesterday, I have nevertheless heard it on the soundtrack.
  13. wait a second, are we supposed to post here? yep, that's it, that's the question to the devs ok but really, i feel like these two threads need to be pinned/shortcutted some way for all of the individual game forums, make them a global announcement of some kind, nobody hardly even visits this section except for us old grumpy fogies tryna make the "new posts" indicator go away
  14. It was a great run by the Heat, but they either had to play perfectly or hope that Denver suddenly stopped playing like how they've been playing this entire post-season, and so Denver gets its first championship. Jokic will undoubtedly (and deservedly) be heralded as the best player in the NBA, I think. Thank god that I don't watch or listen to any sports media, because I'm sure the whole lot of them will be just as obnoxious as they always are.
  15. Nezha Conquers the Dragon King (1979). A mother gives birth to a miniature boy contained within a flower, who is then blessed by a passing god and instantly grows into a child. While Nezha is out playing on the beach with two other girls, a sea dragon eats one of them, so the boy chokes the dragon with his ribbon, bonks him in the head with his circus ring, and then rips the dragon's spine out before tossing the corpse back into the sea. Daddy dragon swears revenge for his son's death, and goes and confronts Nezha's father before running off and appealing to the gods to smite this impetuous boy. Somehow (I don't really know how), Nezha makes it to heavens before the dragon king can, and Nezha beats the snot outta the dragon king before sending him back to the depths with a promise to never bother them again. Nezha's father is outraged with his behavior (defiance of the traditional order?) and disowns him right as a bunch of very angry dragons invade and demand the boy's death or the destruction of their entire city. Nezha slits his own throat to appease them and save his family, the end. Just kidding! Turns out, those stupid dragons forgot all about reincarnation...and this time, Nezha's got himself a spear and some sick wheels that let him both rollerblade as well as straight up fly around, and boy, is he pissed at those dragons. Oops. Yep, it was pretty much like that. Well, that was some wacked out Chinese animation, I tell you what.
  16. talking serial killer werewolves into no longer being serial killers (but still werewolves), always a classic dialogue skills that you can level up in games tend to be pretty funny like this: they usually let you reach more "correct" outcomes for characters and quests, but those outcomes are very often neither fitting or satisfying stupid frodo, he should've just invested more points into persuasion and then he could've just asked sauron to be nicer and we'd have avoided all that nasty ring business, and surely what a better story it would've made
  17. but did you watch the David Lynch-Approved(TM) AI-upscaled version that could have only been given the go ahead by either a troll, moron, or madman? if not, you're really missing out literally used what was a $99 trash-tier upscaling program called Topaz Video AI to make it look worse than it ever was in this ridiculous and convoluted workflow to re-release it on blu-ray, some top minds over there so it would seem i'm personally guessing it was the inner troll in the man, this whole process definitely seems like something he'd do as a great big practical joke on his fans, especially for a film like Inland Empire where visual fidelity obviously wasn't of terribly great importance with the way it was filmed in the first place
  18. Donald J. Trump has been federally indicted seven times for criminal mishandling of classified documents.
  19. Hey, not all of us are corporate scum-suckers.
  20. It's officially spring here where I live. It took a little longer than you'd expect, but my official "how do I know it's spring" test is when I start to notice all the creepy crawlies start to come out of the woodworks...followed very shortly by my loyal army of spiders working night and day to keep them eternally at bay. We're at war, babies and gentlemen - there'll be board and food aplenty for every spider that faithfully fights for our glorious Bartislandia! The problem usually stops in like a week, presumably because the spiders are able to settle in and hold the front lines for the rest of spring and summer. I have a friend that installed a bird house a few years ago, and she showed me pictures of her bird house already having an entire freaking family with babies and everything in it. Frankly, I really don't know much about the mating and birth cycles of birds, but it seems a bit early in the season to me - I suppose it leaves plenty of time for other families to use it over the summer, though.
  21. Does anyone know of any decent PCIE NVME M.2 adapters with preferably 2 Gen 4 slots? I guess being Gen 4 isn't that big of a deal, though. I know these things exist, but most I'm seeing are brandless...or a brand I've never even vaguely heard of. The computer it's for doesn't have a GPU, so it's okay if it's x16-sized.
  22. 2D animation was very difficult and expensive to make and it meant studios necessarily had to limit animation motion and camera movement for both sanity and budgetary reasons, which perhaps had the unintended effect of slowing down and simplifying everything in comparison to what you can do with 3D animation. You can't have a million things on screen all moving at once, pans will tend to be picturesque, and any kind of active rotation you want to do will be very limited and reserved for only very special visual moments. I mention all of this because Pixar's Turning Red (and many other 3D animated films of especially the last ten years) feels aggressive with its visuals, and it often hurts my brain to watch. I like the premise, the themes should theoretically be right up my alley, but actually watching it makes me just want to cover my eyes and ask the characters to just slow down and stop yelling/screaming/spazzing out so much. In other words, I think I am old. Maybe not of body, but definitely of mind.
  23. Okay, good, because that sewer dude wasn't that tough. I wasn't sure if he was a werewolf or just a really ugly nosferatu. The other guy, the guy I met in the diner that you're not supposed to attack but I did, killed me in like two hits. I suspect he's the one you're talking about, and if I have to fight that guy, even much later, it's prooobably gonna be pretty trough.
  24. Perfection. Ignore that I stripped the quote of the image, it means nothing. If VtMB is any indication, nightclubs in real life would probably look very silly if they didn't have A. the insane lights that half-blind everybody, and B. enough people to make it look like stuff is actually going on. As it is, 5-10 people flailing around in static lighting is just...not quite my idea of a lively nightlife, . On the other hand, if other games are any indication, trying to move around in locations that are way too crowded is really annoying, so it's probably for the best even if it's completely unimpressive visually. This game came out in two thousand freaking four, I really can't complain too much about that - nearly 20 years ago! As for the general vibe of the game...yeah, I mean, I'd accept just having more options at this point. When the literal prostitutes in the game are dressed less outrageously than you are and you can't really do anything about it, I think there's a problem. They have this corset, miniskirt, and nylon stockings that look rather modest (and certainly more stylish) in comparison to what I have - exactly who's prostituting who here, anyways? At least their clothes cover their butts! In other news, I found the werewolf. It was extremely anticlimactic: after having done a couple of Bad Things(TM) recently, my humanity is down to 8/10, and the moment the fight started, my character went into a frenzy for the very first time and literally just about instantly melted the werewolf. I couldn't do anything before he died, and I wasn't even sure what was happening before it was over. It was pretty weird, especially since you only start out with 7/10 in the beginning of the game and I hadn't experienced a frenzy up until now. I ended up reloading to give it a more honest try and found out that the Mac-10 is the worst gun in the history of guns, maybe ever, because the recoil is...well, possibly fairly realistic for a tiny untrained woman trying to shoot it at a werewolf a few feet away from her while backpedalling. Meanwhile, somehow every bullet from Fat Larry's was somehow able to hit me... Ended up going back to my katana and doing some hit-and-run stuff, which took care of it after a couple of tries. Good enough. And this werewolf was not the guy from the diner whom I mentioned earlier, and whom I presume I will meet somewhere else down the line.
  25. it took longer than expected, but stumpy wins the race go nuggets but i wouldn't be that upset if miami lost either
