So currently playing the StarDrive beta some thoughts: Game is real time with pause, so no click to end turn. The UI is pretty good, the research tree seems a bit small for my liking. Diplomacy is standard with some nice touches, spies are useful. Seems to have random events built into it which is good to see(discovering signals from a pre-space flight species), graphics are nice. Is very easy to mod. Designing your own ships is great, how well you design it, is actually important, placing armor(external and internal)/weapons(energy vs ordinance)power plants and power lines incorrectly throughout your ship, can cause some disasters. I designed a line of cruisers with minimal bulkheads protecting the reactor..... Not a great idea. Overall I'm enjoying it.

These are definitely niche, compared to COD/TES. That's not the question. The question is why have some publisher given up on anything that doesn't make $500mil in profits. Are PE/WL2 currently going to get the sales of CoD etc? No. But can they bring some profit? Yes. Not every game needs a $100mil budget to make profit. This is where I think EA and Acti are losing the plot. Making smaller budget games that bring profit revenue beside the blockbusters seems to make better business sense, then putting all your eggs in one AAA basket. Especially when in the long run franchises are going to wane. Not to mention that one of those smaller budget games might explode to higher numbers.

I got myself a box copy, I can't justify $150 on a collectors edition. Even though this and WL2 sound/look awesome, Inxile have yet to deliver.

Time to pre-order this.

I edited out the part about MP, because I get that pay to win isn't necessarily fair. But again it doesn't bother me. (Mainly since I don't play MMOs) It doesn't need to be balanced because the user has a choice in it's use. If the player buys/obtains(from pre-order) a cheat, it's their own fault they break the game in it's use. It doesn't effect us.

All governments care. You got to remember we vote for people that lie and slander for a living, and more often than not, are corrupt. I can generally say that most just make the hair on the back of my neck stand up, but maybe that's just aussie politicians.

So the usual EA is bad, get your pitchforks ready thread. Move on. EA likes money, EA will do anything for money, nothing new here. I don't get this. What is so bad about this? Is it something I would use? No, but it doesn't effect me in any way.

Dynasty Warriors 7: Empires. Like the implementation of stratagems, always fun to lead the AI into traps(ambush/pitfall/rock slide). Too bad you don't actually need to use them once you raise your stats above a certain point(which is when you get the most interesting ones submerge/inferno). Just lost my current games due to all my officers leaving due to my 'evilness'. Time to retry being a tyrant.

Good to see Obs getting a new project. Although, I'm not really interested in a Batman game, an original DC universe RPG would be something I could get behind. But if it is Warner Bros, they have more than DC universe. Maybe a F.E.A.R rpg? Could see Obs enjoying screwing with our heads. Mortal Kombat RPG, that would be interesting. LoTR? Or perhaps the most exciting project idea, The Bachelor RPG.

Sony is probably going to have something similar. Most publishers and devs are pretty determined to end the used game market.

While that's great to hear about Moscow, that is just one city in a vast country. The rest of the country, isn't in as good shape. Still I want to visit Moscow too. However: But you would be. No one can make a good case for this.
