I still don't feel this game is going to be as bad as the naysayers say. It won't be the Fallout we know, but that doesn't mean its crap. Unless of course they butcher it completely and make it The Elder Scrolls: Fallout, which hasn't happened.... yet. The only things I know for sure are; Not isometric, not 2D and not turn-based, those three things IMO aren't what made Fallout, Fallout.

Freelancer and X series are the games I recommend, never got into Darkstar One. There is also Space Force Rogue Universe, but I've never played it.

Was that in the PSM3 mag?

Have to agree with this, this model would of worked even better if Bioware make more downloadable content available for PC, access to extra content if you purchase the game is another reason for people to purchase a game, instead of the DRM that puts people off it. Obsession with anti piracy devices that don't work and puts off potential customers is a flawed business approach. Mind you I'm not an executive.

Not really a hack and slash, Diablo, WOW, Titan Quest, those are the hack and slashes were the sole point is to get better items and level up your character. Fable while not a BG, it's more than them. What's wrong with someone liking Fable? If you like it, fine, if you don't, fine.

Torment, Fallout was/are great, System Shock 2, was again good, Sam&Max and Grim Fandango never played. As is said it's an opinion, its just what you like. It's an opinion, not a fact. I prefer Vulcans to Elves. Ok... Mass Effect has a better story than every other game that came before it? Why was its story so good when compared to the others -I have yet to play it as I do not own a 360-, and why are you so dismissive of past games? Have you played these classics, or are you making an attack et al without good reason? Never attacked, stated an opinion. But yes I have played the classic's. If you are referring to PS:T, BG 1&2 Fallout 1&2 etc. How do you want me to explain an opinion? How about this, I found ME characters more interesting then PS:T, BG 1&2(even if there wasn't enough dialogue with them), I enjoyed the paragon/renegade metre and the effect it had on the story even if minor, (why does evil in DnD games have to be kill puppies with severed limbs evil?), the villain's were interesting. The numerous alien species that I found interesting, the story behind them, the dislike of humans, the racism of humans, the back story, all of it is well done, IMO. No expected twists, no poorly developed characters, no shallow villains, the story wasn't drawn out and inflated to make the game longer. Was ME the holy grail of storytelling.... no, but then IMO neither are the classics. I'm not dismissive of the classics its just I haven't enjoyed their stories as much.

You see here's the thing, IMO MEs story is better then any game before it and MoTB is right up there too. Both released last year, next on my lists would be JE and KotOR, then come the older games. I think the companies that want to write interesting stories(OB/Bio) are better at it. Companies like Crytek, or Epic just aren't interested in doing this, but were ID or 3D realms when they made their FPS?

Yes in know it gets a lot of hating, but I just like it. Not as good as the first one, but still better then 99% of other shooters (IMO). Despite being very, very, very easy. In fact the only FPS I've got through more is..... Dues Ex.

Agreed. But I think the reason Monolith didn't get the job was because they were too busy with Condemned 2 and the fear sequel, to release an Aliens game any time soon. Not that they were overlooked. Disappointing that being an Alien in SP is not likely.

See, if I'd hear more such things, and of people I know that have the same taste in games (which both of you do to some extent), and important: of people in RL, I'd get it I haven't seen anyone on this board that played ME say they didn't enjoy it. I'd say it's fairly well spoken for among this grumpy group. Except me. This grumpy old pop didn't like it all. Keep in mind, my focus was on the story and characters. Different tastes, personally I feel its their best story, unfortunately its not that long. Characters were the BioWare standard. Looking forward to playing it on my PC

I not going to run out and buy this game, I'll rent on 360 before buying it on PC, but I'm not simply going to ignore it and pick it to pieces, just because it doesn't have the same camera as the previous two, or because its no longer 2D etc etc. Those thing didn't make Fallout good IMO, it was the story, the characters and the gameplay. If Beth can't produces these things, then its not Fallout IMO.

WOW good to see people remaining objective about Fallout.... Next thing there will be console bashing.... wait...wait for it... Oh it happened already. At post 7 and 19. Could some people please tell me what you could possibly do different with a post-apocalyptic world? I mean the graphics aren't earth shattering but Fallouts 1 & 2 weren't either. As for bloom well it is Bethesda, and if thats the only thing you can find to pick about.
