L4D is a horrible game, if your team mates are crap. Bad team mates are worse than the AI. Especially those damn speed runners.

I too am surprised, this is an Obsidian Forum isn't it? Which mean anything with a Bioware name on it is spat on. (Besides BG) But back to the video, I don't see anything 'horrible' but, at the same time I didn't see anything great either, but great graphics like ME isn't what I expect from this game, I expect a deeper RPG and if graphics have to be decreased to allow this, so be it. Combat looks like BG, NWN to me so, meh. Also aren't you the guy that likes Gothic 3? Because two of those things listed by you, bad animations and bad camera angles, are problems with that game. All this talk about game makers putting too much emphasis on graphics, then a soon as one doesn't and focuses(hopefully) on story, characters and length, people start the whining about graphics.

Was reading an interview with Stardock CEO Wardell, where he talks about wanting to develop different IPs both from Atari (MOO & Star Control), he then goes on to talk about RPGs and his like for the BG series. This left me wondering if he asked about the BG IP, given the rumors about a potential BG3, could we see it comming from Stardock? Left 4 Dead (Miles better then TF2) Mount & Blade (Great game, especially with mods) (Yes I know been out longer, but only discovered it this year) Fallout 3 (Very good game) But the Best game of 2008: Sins of a Solar Empire Best game of 2008 no doubt. Console mention: Fable 2 (Any game where you can run around naked, drunk and fart on nobility = win)

In all seriousness it probably takes longer to go through the Aussie ratings board as it's quite a bit stricter than anywhere else. While we do have a strict(stupid) ratings board, I doubt SoZ would have caught their eye, MotB only recieved an M rating and I doubt SoZ will be as dark as that. Atari just seems to saft Aussies.

Why is it taking an extra 14 days to come out in Australia?

Gothic 2 was a superior game with less bugs x10, but it was just good, not great IMO, polish is something those games never had.

It always amazes me when people get so riled up about other peoples opinions of games. So what, a person likes Kotor? Likes VTM:B combat, thinks JE is great, or thinks Kotor is crap etc etc etc. Remember a persons taste will determine what they appreciate, most of my mates won't even give a second look to a RPG games or anything Sci-FI, are they dumb? No, they just prefer their FPS and RTS games and action/drama tv. Hate to break this to you, but 99% of the gaming world doesn't care what the people on that forum think, which for the most part, is a good thing. It is a forum for fanboys who sound exactly like the PS3/360 fanboys, usually not much intelligent discussion goes on there. Good for a laugh sometimes though. While I agree with what you say about the fps in their games, should a Obsidian dev really comment, when quite honestly your games to this date haven't fared much better? And are you saying that AP and the Aliens RPG will be at 60fps.

Russia>Georgia USA>Iraq USA used Saddam acts genocide and alleged WMD, to invade Iraq. Russia uses alleged acts of ethnic cleansing, to invade Georgia. Seems to me Russia's learning form the best. Let me make one thing clear though, IMO what Russia is doing now is wrong, but no more wrong the what the USA and its allies did to Iraq. Putin is not the 21st century version of Hitler and a healthy strong Russia is not a threat to the western world.

I think you're spot on there, but there is also another factor, taste. You can place some of the best classical music tunes in all the right places in a game, but if that person doesn't like classical music, they aren't going to like the music in that game. Anyway for me JE ftw followed by Gothic 3 and VtMB.

OMG sorry Obz, but if there was one thing I've been skeptical over all others it is the AI. K2 and NWN2 (vanilla) AI suck and it's not like BIS had good AI's either... Surprising, I didn't really give it much of a chance in this respect, and surprised to see this, but it is a preview, and I have seen many games praised at preview only to get slammed at review time. Good news. As long as there is costume where you don't have SPY written on you I'll be happy. I didn't expect anything less.... Again this is Obsidian, what is surprising about this? It's about time there was a preview not bashing the graphics, from what I've seen of the pictures they were quality, not Crysis level, but neither are bunch of other games which graphics were praised. More important for me is how the game runs, basically what is their realistic goal of FPS. Damn I was hoping for a sooner release instead of autumn (for me), but good things come to those who wait, supposedly......

Only two are valid; Gamepads: the only games IMO they're needed for are racing and fighting games. Then there is the fact of finding a fighting game on the PC now days. Running games properly: That's only a problem if you have a crap computer and have poor knowledge of computer hardware. That's why I think Windows Experience Index is a step in the right direction. My cousin doesn't know the Difference between a Nvidia 6600 and an ATI 3870, but she knows the difference between a score of 4 and 5.9. As for DRM its useless, just like every other form of anti-piracy device, if someone wants to pirate a game nothings going to stop them from doing so, there's always going to be some guy that gets around it and then release it on the internet . Eventually Publishers are going to realise this and stop wasting money on anti-piracy devices.
