I don't really know, as I haven't played the game nor have any interest to, but it doesn't paints a pretty picture of the gaming industry if the PC versions are being gimped. But they apparently still use the superior capability of the PC to create the pretty sales screenshots and videos, oh the delicious irony... Coz that's all what are PCs capable of

Assassin's Creed: Unity (for men only!)
Mamoulian War replied to Bryy's topic in Computer and Console
Yeah, the outrage here is the way Ubisoft shot themselves in the foot and then just continued to saw off the leg. But hey, it's easier to just say "women should just shut the f**** up", so here we are. I'm not saying in any way, shape, or form that is what you have been saying, Calax; but the general message has been distorted in order to just simply rag on them females. OTOH, I get the feeling that journalist were out for blood after seeing that "AC: Unity didn't have no women"(something that could easily be patched in or given as a free DLC) and decided to make them suffer for it. Quite frankly this whole thing (the entire SJW crusade) is just childish and counterproductive, they been at it for years and all they've got to show for it is how many people they've grieved. Or how many grandstanding praise was given for little to nothing done. @ Orog Your cynicism makes me laugh Personally for me if I thought raising issues of SJ was pointless I would stop doing it. But I only see the awareness increasing and companies taking considerations like inclusivity more seriously. Yes I agree sometimes I know my intentions are misplaced but I think the greater cause of SJ gets more things right than wrong Sorry to tell you, but it is in Human nature, that the more you are pointing about some problem, the more they get annoyed when they hear/read about it and just start to completely ignore it... If you want to make people aware, you should be only raising issues about the most serious problems. If you starts to raise issue about it every day, the common populace just stops reading/hearing to you, because their short attention spam will not allow them to focus not even on the biggest issues anymore... Unfortunately the journalist's way how to handle this issue is already for many people at the level, that if there is more negative SJ backlash about content, the more likely they are to purchase that content. We have one proverb in my country: "Priveľa všetkého škodí." (Too much of everything is harmful.) And I think, people in other countries should take an advice from this proverb as well.- 107 replies

Which new games will you be playing soon?
Mamoulian War replied to IndiraLightfoot's topic in Computer and Console
The only games which interest me this year, and I will be playing them, are Tales of Xillia 2, Wasteland 2, Pillars of Eternity and maybe Kingdom Hearts 2.5 Remix. -
Dunno, but probably someone working for EA

After reading news about such ridiculous trials such as these almost every day, it's for many people harder and harder to sympathize with any copyright holder... http://arstechnica.com/tech-policy/2014/06/web-browsing-is-copyright-infringement-publishers-argue/

Comparing piracy to parking on handicapped parking spaces... OOOkayyyyy... Now I can safely quit the internet... Coz I have seen everything...

Layoffs are never good news, I'm sorry to hear that. This is just another example of the tough economic pressures many companies face Not wanting to sound like a prick, but "gross mismanagement" is far away from what I see as a tough economic pressure.

Funny how Sarex is the common link in both discussions, tells you something about his debating etiquette And I find funny how many people from another part of the world think, they know better about what's going on in Ukraine, because Fox News or some similar "news" said so... So in your opinion only people who live in a particular country can give an informed view about an event or situation in that country? You do realize there is only one person on these forums, as far as I know, who lives in Ukraine and has commented in that discussion and its not Sarex? Only one reply to this, because I do not want to derail thread and I never talk about politics on internet. The fact is that the far away are you living from the place of conflict, the more skewed the news are, that is the fact, because like it or not, US, EU and Russia all have their own political and economical agendas in Ukraine and most of the medias are far away from independent on covering most of what is happening, including most of the medias here in Slovakia. Another fact is that Ukrainian citizens, (it depends not if they have Ukrainian, Russian or another nationality), know the best what is happening there. But you still have to cherry pick these information as well, because some of them are doing propaganda of their own side as well. The situation, as always, is not Black and White, it is in thousands shades of grey and both sides of the conflict believe in their own truth.

Malc you have to admit its always better playing an RPG where you can explore the various Romance arcs? Nope he doesn't. Planescape: Torment Arcanum of Steampunk and Magik Obscura Vampire: Bloodlines To name a few. An engaging story does not need active romantic pursuits for the protagonist to engage in. Romance does not make writing engaging or good just by being present. Good writing is what makes writing good. Ideally, if the romantic arcs were well written and did not take away resources from other aspects of the game, then, if they weren't forced down people's throats, one could make an argument that it is always better to have more options. But it is not better to play a game with crap on the side just for having crap on the side over one that doesn't have that. After all, most of us here enjoy a good steak, none of us though would ask for the cow to crap next to the plate. (yeah I know, terrible analogy. Just pretend it was said by Al Pacino or someone else who can get away with saying anything in a movie.) I didn't explain my point properly. I'm not saying you have to have Romance to have an engaging RPG ( but I do think it enhances and makes party interaction more significant ) I am saying if an RPG offers optional Romance its better to partake of them than to ignore them Let's try another analogy... Would you in real life take part in "optional" romance with someone who is not attractive for you or would you rather ignore it?

ShadySands You got there two of the best games ever released on Nintendo stuff. Bravely Default is what Final Fantasy was about before Squaresoft - Enix merger. Highly recommended. And Fire Emblem has been praised on this forums so many times that even without ever playing that game, I know it is pure JRPG love. Other stuff, hmm Dragon Quest IX, Final Fantasy III, Sonic RPG (last good Bioware game imo ) and some Zelda (there are few) could be some games you might like on this handheld. Other than that? If the game is made by Nintendo, there is big chance it might be very good game, most of the 3rd parties have no clue how to make good games for their systems. aaaand Ace Attorney is something some people love, but no clue if it is localized in english...

Playing mostly business trips lately, and in between some Gran Turismo 5 and 6. Got 1000 cars trophy in GT5 today after 3 years O.o And after that I played little bit Tales of Symphonia HD on PS3. Only 17 hours in the game so far. And started to play on roll20.net Pathfinder game of Curse of the Crimson Throne with Gnome Barbarian, so far the game was fun but combat was boring due to lucky crits. First boss fight ended after firing up one arrow lol. And in the morning I think I will do little bit for preparing second book of Serpent's Skull Adventure Path for my friends, and maybe littl bit Gran Turismo again

That's why I never get rid of my WinXP computer. Classics like UT99 just work as intended. Unfortunately I was never able to play UT3 due to the problem with the engine it used and my sound card. Even with the latest patch it did not worked without crash for more than 15 minutes

I think both Hexen games from Raven could be pretty close to what you describe, with the difference, that they are not sci-fi. They both are last games in their genre as well.
