  1. Yakuza Kiwami 2 review. https://arstechnica.com/gaming/2018/08/yakuza-kiwami-2-review-an-ok-chapter-in-one-of-gamings-great-sagas/ Don't forget to pick it up. You'll not regret it
  2. Tower of Time has arrived on GOG!!! https://www.gog.com/news/release_tower_of_time
  3. SoR 3 was the most awesome beat em up ever!!!
  4. Also The Last Remnant by Square Enix will be removed from Steam very soon. It's pretty original JRPG. So if you ever thought, that you would like to buy that game, now is your last chance on PC. More info: http://www.siliconera.com/2018/08/24/the-last-remnant-will-be-removed-from-storefronts-in-september-2018/
  5. Wow. An indie developer sues CBS and Netflix for copying his content to Star Trek Discovery I do not know, how much it can hold, but some similarities are really striking...
  6. As far as I am aware, Gutenberg Projects books which are in Public Domain. First games start to fall in Public Domain in 50 - 75 years (maybe even more) depending on country legislation. So It is impossible to offer games for free legally, unless you have contract with copyright owner. In that time, most of the digital stuff would be lost without preservation project, and GOG like store fronts
  7. GOG started new web ) https://fckdrm.com
  8. I do not know how it is in US, but in EU, you can not patent any programming code, you can patent only product. Because it is impossible to write a code where every single line is different from every other product in existence. And it falls under the "Math cannot be patented" category. (disclaimer: this is based solely on my own nonlawyerish knowledge of the status, the actual laws might be much more complicated and I bet there are some exemption to this. If anyone has deeper knowledge on the EU side of the stuff, feel free to educate me)
  9. Not commenting the insane lawsuit, but if you write a code for a company as an employee, the code is not yours. Every single letter in the code is intellectual property of the company. Unless you have special exemptions in your contract. And good luck with that
  10. Me being jRPG lover, from what you have listed, Valkyria Chronicles would be my choice of the day. It has unique combat style and interesting setting. Check some videos about the game if you are not sure if you would like it or not.
  11. Another case, why going full digital is not as bright future as some people promote it. Especially for customers. Short version, EA deleted an Origin account with all games and other purchased content without single trace back to its existence.
  12. Thinking about the game. How you enjoy it so far?
  13. I have played it on my PSP, and liked it
  14. I was never much into that kind of games, but somehow every God of War achieved always something, what other similar games did not. I had fun playing it!
  15. Tha main difference is, that SE is obsessed with graphics, and their storytelling is getting worse and worse. And shorter and shorter. Unlike CD Project, who is able to focus on both parts with pretty high effort and high results. Everybody wanted FFVII remake of the game their remember in newer graphics, not an action game broken in 3 parts for maximum cash grab effect :-/
  16. Gaming subscriptions are way to hell, if you want to play more than one game. All publishers are wet about it, but imagine paying EA subscription, Activision subscription, Ubisoft subscription, Blizzard subscription, Square Subscription, and you throw out more money monthly, than if you would buy your games for full price.
  17. It's Japan, they love their cutscenes. Don't let discourage yourself from awesome game.
  18. Oh yeah, I agree, Lightning was not very inspiring protagonist. My favourite was IX, and I had the same issues like you in XV. So thinking than VIIR would take any inspiration out of that game makes me sad :/ Thankfully I still have all of their older games, to play once in a while, when feeling I need to play some good old school JRPG.
  19. It is, already redeemed my Fig Season Pass *cheers*
  20. Well, I am one of the few strange creatures, who do not loathe FFXIII. The story was not what took me in, but the mix of ATB and action was for me very good mix. Of course, the first thing I did, was to disable Auto Attack. This one killed the game for many people. FFXIII-2 was for me even better game, because I liked the Pokemon addition to the game, but the story was even bigger mind****... But FFXIII-3 was just atrocious trash, and first sign of SE going to "conquer" western audiences, with just another bland game, which plays the same as every other western focus tested checkbox simulator FFXV nailed it and made me abandon the franchise with very bad taste in my mouth...
  21. Square Enyx definatelly decided to butcher Final Fantasy franchise, and finally announced on their joblistings, that FFVII will be an action game. http://www.siliconera.com/2018/08/02/final-fantasy-vii-remake-is-being-made-as-an-action-game-according-to-new-job-listing/ Square Enyx will not get any of my money anymore :-/
  22. I liked exploration of BG1 more than BG2 as well. Although the encounters on some of them were real pain in the ass.
  23. I can only recommend it. It's one of the best games released last few years imo. If you are into that kind of games. Lot of mature content, ****loads of hilarious content and good playability. I enjoyed all Yakuza games which I've played, and can't wait for Kiwami 2, which releases in few days.
  24. Galaxy offers it as well, but afaik not for older titles too. But even if I play through Galaxy, I have all overlays turned off. Even on Playstation's I have disabled all notification with the exception of trophies.
