Also this program took a lot of money out of their pockets, while they were trying to be pro consumer. With Epic introducing lowet fee, GOG has to lower their fee as well, or lose the competiveness. Pretty much this. If a company (in this case EA and their Bioware subsidiary) is convinced their way forward is Battle Royale game and micro transactions, the only way to go forward is to do what they did. The market, being just as ruthless as any corporation, will then decide whether that model will stand the test of time. There are of course classier ways of commenting on it than just simple minded gloating and wishing people out of work. The only people wishing people out of work are the spineless executives, with their unsustainable quest for all the money in the world. Just look at Activision, despite record breaking earnings, they sack 750 people. Because it was still not enough. Companies with short term gain goals are the worst for the employment economy, and people should also think twice, if it is worth for them to work for such a company. Everyone has a choice to either work for smaller company as a programmer, or to work for a company, which won Worst Company in the USA twice in a row. If they choose the latter, there are consequences to that choice. Man can only blame himself, for his poor choices made.

Yes, but DA4 was “refocused” few months ago, to be more in line with Live Service vision of EA. I expect Anthem with swords...

There is still GOG, and thousands over thousands of hours of games available with no online component. Enough stuff to fill my hobby for few lifetimes. EA, Ubi and others can shove their live services in The Place, where the Sun, Never Shines...

But watching the 'gamer community' be outraged, threaten boycotts that they'll never follow through on, etc., you have to admit it's pretty entertaining. Katphood, we all are here for the games, but watching internet drama is sometimes more entertaining than playing AAA games

Just Finished Act II of Tales of Vesperia. The story had few interesting typical JRPG twists, but so far it is solid with no WTF moments Just with higher levels, the fights get slower for me, because I am kind of lazy to spent to much time with setting up “proper” skills. In the end, the game is little bit more challenging that way, so it’s OK for me

We'll see how mant gamers will be there in week or two. Artifact had also crazy start, but 95% of players are now gone *shrugs* still IMO objectively from what I've seen, it is first EA game in ages, which looks fun to me.

No.No. To big latency for a lot of games. For me any fightning game is unplayable even now over internet, because of the input lag. Now imagine the input lag being 2-3x bigger between input and the action on screen. Same with racing or any other game which requires fast reaction. And people are to much spoiled by real time 4K already. There is not good enough cable infrastructure in 90% of the world, to be able to stream that bandwidth heavy graphics. So unless there will be big datacentre less than 100km away from my house, I will stay and play indies and old games until the end of my life, if gaming became streaming live service only.

They have a long-standing reputation for shoddy releases and that shows that they are not getting better at this. The recent appointment of a new CEO straight from an online gambling firm (!) isn't exactly reassuring either. I look forward to trying it out, but Paradox's dlc practices were already hideous to begin with, so this new gambing CEO will probably make that quagmire of greed deeper. I do not like the tactics as well, but having a game and DLC with new stuff every now and then feels to me still better than full price annual release of EA sporting games or CoD...

Thus the rumors, for all you (and the two dudes on Youtube who did not bother with matters as trivial as quoting their sources properly) know they were hiring for a game internally known as 'Unannounced Titanfall Battle Royale'. Edit: Incidentally, Another Titanfall title isn't out of the game either yet, albeit that doesn't confirm Titanfall 3 in development either. I for one am hoping for SP-focused thing! ... Won't happen, but it could! ... Also, the article quotes sources properly :-P I have checked it and the hirings which i've found were specifically named for Star Wars and Titanfall. No BR mentioned anywhere at that hiring post. If something is not announced, it still can be cancelled. Respawn was in the past hiring people directly for Titanfall development.

Well, sometimes all you need to do is wait two weeks for the sale to happen. Buying anything from AAA on release date is at the moment very unrational, to put it mildly...
