I'll have a listen... If for no reason other than to see how you fill up a podcast talking about a game with barely any information out about it.

I'm curious why some people dislike Sawyer? I think He is a bit combative with fans occasionally but I doubt that's the only reason.

What Are You Playing Now: Gaming Lives

Just wait until you've gone between Colorado springs and the palace a few times. Don't get me wrong, I'm enjoying the game. I dread reloading or entering areas due to the very long load times. I blame unity -
What Are You Playing Now: Gaming Lives

She seems unhinged... My first playthrough is my idealistic naive playthrough... Try to do everything that my younger self believed in... My second play will be more cynical where I'll side with the patriarch. Third if I get to a third will be psycho(I rarely finish these as I tend to feel guilty even if it's make believe) 8/10 seems right... Could be a 9 of those damn loading times were cut down -
This would mean it's very close to the events surrounding Poe/deadfire which I dont think it will be. Honestly I wouldnt mind if it was. The only thing I dont want it to be is waidwens Legacy. I feel like too much is known of that event.

Avowed will not be PoE3, and that's a good thing
Theonlygarby replied to necrobrain's topic in Avowed Speculation
Agreed... I don't generally find "fun" games fun. Aside from occasional sport games, I basically only play games for the story. Even in sport games I wish they would focus more on rpg elements, as sports are actually very ripe for role playing. Instead they are all about pay to win online garbage. Luckily I highly doubt avowed will be shallow with its world building and story... I do think character building(stats skills ect) might be shallow though, which is a bummer but something I can look passed if the story/world building/character building(personality/character story building) is good. -
I didn't have any bugs... However the controls are janked to the janky jank. That was really my only issue with it.

Anyone read Lucien soulbans books? His name is extremely bad ass it must be fake. I'm unaware of his previous work though... As lead narrative I'd be interested in what his writing is like.

I think the saddest thing would be not getting an end to what was supposed to be a trilogy. Deadfire is very unsatisfactory as an ending. So many unanswered questions. Maybe avowed will answer those? But I doubt they would confuse new players by having it be a sequel to deadfire. If we never get a POE3 then I hope avowed or an eora based game eventually does answer those questions -
Ah crap it's out tomorrow? Guess that means I'm buying another game... My backlog grows bigger, especially with that never ending game

What Are You Playing Now: The New Beginning Thread

I started playing but I'm going to finish the trails in the sky series first.... I kind of don't like the changes in wasteland 3... I'll get used to it but I beat wasteland 2 quite recently so I'm very used to that style. It seems somewhat dumbed down. From what I can tell.... The intelligence nerf is a bit much... I didn't realize it doesn't affect skill points per level... The story is intriguing though which is the most important part. -

Dialog checks were stiff. Now every check is stiff, from disarming to hacking. I dont mind really, better than save summing but prepare to not be able to meet every single check that comes your way... Also weird after level 3 you get an attribute point after every level which seems weird... I'm still early on in the game so maybe every character won't be perfect by the end? But it feels like that's where it's headed -
This doesn't really make sense. Is it Europe criticizing the stolen land? Pretty sure it's American citizens more than anyone else. Also that is an issue in Canada. It's not like no one realizes we also stole land. I'm assuming it's the same in Australia... This really feels like projection. America is criticized for their meddling and their power to do so... Not because the land is stolen...

Deadfire is a beautiful game. No crpg I have played comes close to it. UI included. Only thing I dont like about it is the disconnect between the main quest and side quests. I find it's better in a second playthrough... Just roleplay as "there is no stopping eothas might as well do other things" Actually my first play was as a eothas priest so it worked out for me... Wanting him to succeed

I'm also really bad at character building. Usually I have to restart halfway through a game because I've made too many mistakes... Story characters usually aren't optimal but still better than what I come up with. 3 friends?!? Look at Mr popular here.

One PC because it's a role playing game and it's easier to roleplay as one person than four. It took me a while to get used to having multiple PCs but it's fine now. I do prefer the one PC though. Divinity original sin was super annoying with their dual controled conversations... Really hated that. Wasteland 2 I got used to. Just made the leader the role played character and the other three silent (in head canon)

Probably not if I were to guess. Most games are not for mac

I wouldn't call it a class system. Aside from choosing starting stats it's pretty much open. I do like the "do something to get better at it" method like tyranny and kingdom come. Though that basically means there would be no classes. Edit: the skill trees could be considered "classes" but they don't get locked off. You could potentially mix and match different skills from different trees .. not optimal but it's still doable

The character building is top notch.. though too smart for me... Really feel paralyzed by choice. In general on normal diffcullty this game kicks my ass. I'll still probably buy the next game just to support the genre. Still bummed about probably not getting a POE3 anytime soon. Even though I am excited for avowed I almost quit when they brought tartuccio back, thinking he was going to be around all game.

Pathfinder characters and writing drove me crazy. Pretty much every character is a cliche. I forget the dudes name but your rival at the start was just awful. It felt like a JRPG minus the charm. Was very cartoony but the setting was trying to be gloom and doom. I never thought it was done tongue in cheek. Could have been... But it wasn't over the top cheesy... Just felt bad

Romancing will probably be awful... Because it usually is. I just hope they don't go the "everyone is bisexual" route. Not because I'm against bisexuality just because I find it immersion breaking. People have preferences
