rAND-ohm vIDeO game NEW$
One PC because it's a role playing game and it's easier to roleplay as one person than four. It took me a while to get used to having multiple PCs but it's fine now. I do prefer the one PC though. Divinity original sin was super annoying with their dual controled conversations... Really hated that. Wasteland 2 I got used to. Just made the leader the role played character and the other three silent (in head canon)

Will there be a macOS version?
Probably not if I were to guess. Most games are not for mac

Character Progression/Class System
I wouldn't call it a class system. Aside from choosing starting stats it's pretty much open. I do like the "do something to get better at it" method like tyranny and kingdom come. Though that basically means there would be no classes. Edit: the skill trees could be considered "classes" but they don't get locked off. You could potentially mix and match different skills from different trees .. not optimal but it's still doable

Why has PoE2 been sold so badly?
Theonlygarby replied to local.man's topic in Pillars of Eternity II: Deadfire General Discussion (NO SPOILERS)The character building is top notch.. though too smart for me... Really feel paralyzed by choice. In general on normal diffcullty this game kicks my ass. I'll still probably buy the next game just to support the genre. Still bummed about probably not getting a POE3 anytime soon. Even though I am excited for avowed I almost quit when they brought tartuccio back, thinking he was going to be around all game.

Why has PoE2 been sold so badly?
Theonlygarby replied to local.man's topic in Pillars of Eternity II: Deadfire General Discussion (NO SPOILERS)Pathfinder characters and writing drove me crazy. Pretty much every character is a cliche. I forget the dudes name but your rival at the start was just awful. It felt like a JRPG minus the charm. Was very cartoony but the setting was trying to be gloom and doom. I never thought it was done tongue in cheek. Could have been... But it wasn't over the top cheesy... Just felt bad

Companions
Romancing will probably be awful... Because it usually is. I just hope they don't go the "everyone is bisexual" route. Not because I'm against bisexuality just because I find it immersion breaking. People have preferences

Avowed is a terrible name. A good name is 50% of the sale
I dunno avowed is a pretty easy word to understand after reading the definition. Some words sure, a dictionary night not help. But most words (like avowed) just need a look up and you're good to go.

With the internet everyone should know what every word means.

Fallout New Vegas - Brave New World
I tried that... Though I might have it wrong. Can't remember was either New Vegas or skyrim

Fallout New Vegas - Brave New World
Also it duplicates all the files (I think?). It ends up taking a ton of disk space on my rather small ssd...

Companions
According to the leaks there are companions but they will be done differently than the outer worlds. I am currently playing "trails in the sky" and really enjoy how companions work in that game. You play as Estelle and her always companion Joshua. Throughout the game you meet companions. As you progress the story, they leave you with your party of two. Until you meet new characters. This system might not be for everyone but I really like the way it's done. Wondering if perhaps avowed could take a similar approach. Pluses being -never choosing the "wrong" companion and missing out on unique reactions -more easily programmed to react to a situations/missions(think red dead 2 gang members joining you on a job) instead of just following behind you they can actually serve a specific purpose -realism in the sense that most likely 10 different people won't be willing at any moment to follow you anywhere you go Negative -replayability is the biggest one. However they could make certain companions only join you if your morals align. And their reactions would be different depending on choices during the mission -you might really like a companion and be sad when they leave - would mean there is no real party system That's all I got right now. How do people want companions to be done in avowed? Also how would they like it to be done? I personally would like a party system but I think it's unlikely to work well. I think most people won't like this idea. Just starting a discussion 😛

Pillars of creation doesn't really make any sense. I mean... The pillars dont create anything. Pillars of eternity is in regards to the endless cycle(I think... Maybe it's the gods being eternal? Either way it makes sense). What would pillars of creation mean. Avowed is a fine name. As I've said in another post, the title has a tyranny feel to it. As oathbinder is avowed.

What I want in Avowed
I think he means mods and tinkering. It's borderline crafting I suppose.

Fallout New Vegas - Brave New World
Ah okay. Still... Didn't like the voice... Could be just nostalgia, but I much prefer Easy Pete's old voice. Also I use vortex which is weird for load order... I'm pretty new to modding so vortex is simple and easy but I tend to always have some little issue

Fallout New Vegas - Brave New World
I tried it... They changed easy Pete's voice and I did not like it. When that's one of the first voice changes you hear... Kinda turned me off the whole thing Also I had subtitles on and nothing matched(on changed voices). Which might be me installing wrong but probably they didn't change the text

What I want in Avowed
Removing crafting isnt dumbing down. Is kingdom come more dumbed down than Skyrim? I personally haven't really enjoyed crafting in any games... Especially if there is a weight limit because you end up with a whole lot of garbage filling up your stash in fear you might need it for crafting. I think people's hesitance towards romancing is that it is never done well. This is especially the case when you want to choose your partner. Witcher 3 was alright I guess in that aspect, but they gave you two choices. Nowadays you need at least a choice for every orientation known to zerr. Player homes can be cool. Though they don't really add anything to the game IMO. I'd imagine this game will have player homes POE had no weight limits... Was that a dumbed down first person shooter? I'm fine either way... But generally the weight limits make little to no sense anyways Edit: now if they did a RDR2 camp type player home that could be really cool. Having hideouts that your cronies hang out at

What I want in Avowed
If I were to guess, I'd say it will be a light class system... Though id be very happy if they actually ported classes from POE. I imagine some wouldn't work... Bard comes to mind as it has a lot to do with buffing companions. Judging from the little we have seen I'm doubtful though. Hopefully I'm wrong. Is it just me or does avowed almost seem more tyranny than POE from the trailer/title

What I want in Avowed
I'm a little torn on crafting. I mean potions/food/clothes are one thing. But it has always felt a little weird to me that on top of everything you do, you also have time to make a sword. At least realism wise, you shouldn't really be able to craft a sword in a minute. I think weapon "mods" in a crafting sense would be cool. Like POE crafting where you upgrade weapons. That makes sense. I certainly won't be mad if you can craft things blacksmiths should only be able to make... But also I feel like just expanding on the Skyrim model isn't my first choice.

What Are You Playing Now: The New Beginning Thread
Just started Trails in the sky... Really enjoying it, combat is pretty basic but it has that Japanese charm I've been looking for. Hopefully I'll finish the first game by the time wasteland 3 comes out. I also bought UFC 4 and regretted it immediately... Stupid EA having all the rights to sports games

3rd person?
I get the feeling we won't be able to be an orlan. Same with dwarf. Would be weird attacking some Aumaua shins. I just hope they dont force you to be a godlike.

When does "Peril on Gorgon" take place?
Theonlygarby replied to thedumbfish123's topic in The Outer Worlds: General Discussion (NO SPOILERS)It probably would be more than a few minutes of dialog. The ending of outer world's involves something that affects all of halcyon. Meaning any NPC you can talk to, would realstically have something to say about that. Unless you are saying they should have changed the main story to wrap up in a way to fit with the DLC. You have to realize also, that DLC was not something they planned to have. They had hopes of doing DLC, but it was not guaranteed until the game sold well.

When does "Peril on Gorgon" take place?
Theonlygarby replied to thedumbfish123's topic in The Outer Worlds: General Discussion (NO SPOILERS)It would just take a lot of extra work to make it after the end. Would have to add dialog to characters having them acknowledge what happened at the end of the game. Depending on your end game choice you'd have completely made yourself an enemy to all the corporation's. With unlimited time and budget I'm sure more games would have their DLC take place after the end game. As it is, that's a lot of extra work when you can just add it before the ending.

Is Avowed just Pillars 3 by another name?
Yen is great if you are into extremely toxic relationships. Played 1 and 2 wondering why anyone would choose Yen. Read a couple of the books... Now I dislike both of them

3rd person?
I hope it's 2nd person camera

Character Progression/Class System
I stopped reading after "real time whether systems"(the leak)
