I'm pretty sure i made her stay with me when i supported VTC... Or was it the queen? I'm pretty sure you can convince her to stay... though im not sure exactly who i sided with when i made her stay. edit: Maybe you need to be in a relationship with her for that to work. It's been a while since it happened. I remember i was an Orlan so i thought it would be funny to hook up with the giant.

TOW DLC Confirmed!

Pavarti date #2 DLC hopefully -
Because that's how much I wanted to like it. A CRPG where you're a king? Sign me up. Honestly a lot of that was me finding out my character build sucked, so I started over. I mean it's better than me playing 30 minutes and saying it sucked. Yeah exactly. The game definitely had something that made me want to play. Just wasn't enjoyable

I also hated Pathfinder. I put over 100 hours into it. I think I had fun for maybe 5 hours in total. Eventually I just started saving every 10 seconds, just in case I failed to disarm a trap, or I had a bad dice roll in kingdom building. My biggest problem with cRPGs is the need to min max... I know it's a big part of RPGs but it really takes me out of the mood when you have to drop your intelligence or wisdom or whatever down as low as possible otherwise your character will be useless. Really seems like a jack of all trades master of none isn't really viable in most RPGs... I understand that's just how things are, but Pathfinder kingmaker really takes that to the extreme. Also Pathfinder had very little "role playing". Quite like mass effect 2 it punishes you if you don't stick to one rigid alignment. I'm not a numbers person at all. I play for the story. The story of Pathfinder was far too busy, and I couldn't connect with any single story beat, as it was quickly brushed aside for a new story. I wanted to like it, I wouldn't call it a bad game... Just not for me.

I had never played a CRPG before POE so I didn't know what to expect. But right when I entered the gilded vale and saw the tree with bodies hanging. I was fully immersed and had to know more. Its hard to say exactly what makes a good town or city, but I always like when things aren't as they appear.(gilded vale is a bad example) dyrford is a good example. There is a lot bellow the surface. Literally and figuratively .

Outer world's wasn't what got Microsoft interested? That makes me very excited for the future of obsidian! -
Josh Sawyer on why modern Obsidian plays it safe
Theonlygarby replied to Infinitron's topic in Obsidian General
Fair enough. Though they tackle it in a fantasy setting, so doubt many would be offended. Also they had backers, paying for that specific type of game. Also they couldn't afford anything other than CRPG, so that part was a risk they had to take. All that being said, I'm completely fine with RPGs playing it safe. As long as the story/writing is good, I don't much care about being innovative. Death stranding was a "risky" game... And I hate it. -

I like POE/deadfire, but they didn't really take any risks. Though it's hard to take risks when you are one flop of a game away from bankruptcy. -
It's a bad sign for games this year that a remake is on the list for game of the year. Disco is weird... I don't regret buying it because I like supporting smaller developers and they tried to do something different. I totally regret buying death stranding... I only have myself to blame though... I knew what it was... I guess I just hate having money
-
Makes sense I suppose. Though I mean JRPGs are RPGs even though they don't really have any role playing. Disco definitely is a role playing game... I don't think it's for me personally... But it's definitely a role playing game. Player choice(and what seems to be complete freedom) and dice rolls = RPG in my opinion at least Side note I went back and played mass effect 1 and 2... Did not hold up at all. Mass effect 1 was just copy and pasted areas. Story was good but nothing amazing... And I actually hated mass effect 2 replaying it now. You basically have to go 100% rebel or paragon... If you mix then crew members will hate you
-
From what you said previously, it seems like disco would fit what you like. I didn't play that much of it(because outer world's came out) but it didn't seem very hand holdy, wasn't filled with fluff mainly focused on the story. The game play was just dice rolls but if that's not cutting out fluff I don't know what is im curious specifically what games you like.

The game looks alright... Not my style. Think it's kind of a bad idea for this to be the first Microsoft obsidian release though... Kind of adds fuel to the fire if those who worry that Microsoft will change obsidian. -

Maybe an Alpha protocol like game? I know they don't have the rights but there aren't many spy games lately... That I know of at least -
Outer Worlds, a mediocre Fallout
Theonlygarby replied to Reffy's topic in The Outer Worlds: General Discussion (NO SPOILERS)
Someone only played the first location. There are other locations where no one is with the board. As has been mentioned, where is this game with real choice and consequence? Being pretty harsh if you are judging a game against some magical game that doesn't exist. Games are limited because they aren't real life. If you are comparing it to real life yes the graphics are bad, and the story is too linear... Good point -
Ending bugged me
Theonlygarby replied to Osculim's topic in The Outer Worlds: Stories (Spoiler Warning!)
Yeah I like relationships in games, but honestly there is no winning. It's always not enough gay characters or too many gay characters. I completely see why a developer would just avoid the whole thing. Do you make every character bisexual? Do you make characters have a specific orientation and lock off to different genders? People are so sensitive in regard to this issue. I've never really had a game that did relationships well... -

I forgot about that. Good point. I think maybe, they are planning to keep your main character in sequels. Mostly due to the super power of slowing time down, unless you are a new frozen person. If that is the case, your future with the companions might be continued in a later game.
