  1. I played a bit of it. The character models are awful, not just low budget, but real ugly. That's not what stopped me from playing though. They don't explain how things work very well at all. stats/systems and such the intro to the game instantly took me out of it. It always annoys me when a game gives you a backstory that doesn't logically make sense for certain classes. You are essentially a ward to a Duke or something. Very quickly you are no longer a ward, and some crone takes you in. It happens so quick I dont know why they even bothered with the first part. I'll give it another go, and I won't refund it, because you can tell they put a lot of effort into it... I can be turned off of a game very quickly if the story bothers me, and that seems to have happened here
  2. Played about an hour of black geyser... was hard to get through that character creation. The elf looks like they literally just stretched the human model to make it longer and thinner... or I guess "taller". The beards are pretty funny. Then the attribute stats don't really tell you anything... it says like "focus helps your aim" but doesn't tell me what the difference between 6 and 10 really means. The writing is a mixed bag so far. the dialog is alright mostly, and I love the idea of the world being cursed by greed. I just don't know how much I trust them to flesh it out. Nothing really makes sense so far. Feels rushed. For me pillars 1 is a perfect intro, you are travelling somewhere for whatever reason you choose, circumstances send you on a journey. This game you are a servant or ward, working for a rich guy. Something happens, no longer in that role. On your own, and the world is cursed by greed. It's hard to be a druid that has been raised in a duke(or whatever)s mansion. Similar to baldurs gate 1 I suppose... just doesn't really have me invested at all... which actually was the case with BG. They have been working on this game a long time... it really doesn't seem finished(I know it's early access... but still) I mean I'm not picky about graphics... but the characters don't even hold the sword... it just kind of sticks to their hand oddly. It's pretty cheap though... take it with a grain of salt because I don't really like baldurs gate. So I might not know what I'm talking about
  3. I'll be getting it once I'm off work. The graphics are damn ugly but that's way low on my priority list anyway
  4. My sister made me get tik-tok... and judging by the people on there, smug **** are indeed popular
  5. I think I've bought it like... 3 maybe 4 times, still never beat it.
  6. The original has to be the game I've contemplated getting but never did the most.
  7. Yeah mine doesn't even crash... just won't start... tried starting from bin. Tried reinstalling. The only thing that worked was not trying, and playing a different game
  8. I can't even get the game to launch now... I think its the larian launcher. I press play on gog and it just does nothing... the play button changes colour then... nothing goes back to blue or whatever color it was
  9. I'm at the point I have to choose between Templar and mages... I sympathize with the mages... but fighting heavy plated Templar is less fun
  10. I agree. I felt this especially in red dead redemption 2... the game feels realistic, horse gets dirty, you have to eat. Yet you can get shot in the head 30 times, and you have to fight like 20 dudes at once. Why not just make your character more vulnerable and have less enemies... if you are going for realism. As far as dragon age goes, my character is a rogue so I just hide my way through the tedious battles.
  11. Yeah I remember that from last time... it's been a while but I'm pretty sure I didn't even realize you could leave hinterlands for a fair bit of time. The only story beat that annoys me(with this game and like... 99% of games) is that once again I'm the chosen one. At least give me a little bit of time being a nobody like origins did
  12. Trying dragon age Inquisition again. I like the writing. Surprisingly I think the controls are actually worse on computer than console... which surprised me. It does have the million quest markers problem but I'm trying to deal with it
  13. I don't think the games will be connected at all. So I doubt there will be an import. Also, imports tend to be underwhelming. At best a couple dialog nods to your choices. I'm actually fine with the fallout method of just having a cannon ending. At least the world can change in a meaningful way, instead of staying stagnant for the sake of being open to your previous choices
  14. I envy/respect your ability to role play in skyrim. For whatever reason when I play I'm just a guy who does missions because im told to
  15. Good video game news talk everyone
  16. I agree skyrim feels shallow. Very lifeless. No characters stood out. In fact I don't think I can really name a single character from the game.
  17. I do feel like pathfinder would do things to trick newbies into taking bad skills/spells. Which is something I never felt in POE. I have never table top role played and I think that puts me at a disadvantage. Those classes in kingmaker really drove me nuts. Also I swear most of the builds I found were made for hard-core mode where your character wasn't any good until like... level 20
  18. They didn't help me in kingmaker. I think I'm just very bad at RTWP... I enjoy them though... I also have a weird role playing thing where I hate min maxing... having super low charisma intelligence or wisdom just bothers me role playing wise and pretty much every build has low 1 of those things. That being said I'll still play and won't blame the devs for my incompetence. It's probably what made pillars of Eternity my favorite... you could get 13s across the board and still beat the game.(on normal at least)
  19. I feel like he has to be trolling
  20. I'll be buying this game. And likely feeling dumb when I struggle with the complex character builds
  21. I'm pretty sure Microsoft has it covered
  22. Pretty much... I just can't believe how many hills I probably could have gotten up had I known
  23. I'm like 12 hours into mass effect 1 legendary and I just realized the maxo has a speed boost... that could have saved me hours as all I have been doing is mako stuff
  24. I'm playing legendary edition as well... I forgot how much the paragon renegade choices annoy me. it's extremely annoying having to be always good or always bad. If you mix and match you just get crappy outcomes. I'm fine with the tedium... I'm half enjoying the mako in ME1 for some reason
