213374U....Bravo (not sarcasm, btw) Couple opinions to get out of the way, since, god knows, I love spitting these things out: 1. I believe I saw it mentioned earlier in this thread, but I'll just repeat the information, since it seems to have been over-looked. Prior to the dropping of the A-bombs...The Japs (Japs...Japs...Japs) were already discussing peace terms, amongst themselves (meaning the government), and even with some Allied officials. This was a last resort. They already knew they weren't going to claim victory, so probably reasoned that surrender, under decent conditions, was preferable to an assault on their homeland...that and their war machine was crumbling all around them. The Allies were apparently fine with the terms...save for one, Japan wanted to keep their emperor. So negotiations reached a stand-still...after refusing to comply, the Japs were really just holding out for a better deal. (Should be noted that Truman was quoted as saying "When this thing hits, I'll really have a hammer over those boys." That's not it, specifically, but the basic point is there...I hope. He wasn't talking about the Japs, he was talking about the Soviets.) A show of strength that killed some 150,000 people (the majority of which were civilians). And then they did it a second time...why...no clue on this end. Fact remains...it's done, over with, and in the past. I recommend reading the book, Hiroshima for some perspective. 2. I've heard terrorism defined as "the use of violent or intimidating acts against people or property, especially for political purposes" That's all I've got. And, well...I don't really agree with any of you, nor do I disagree. I'm..........relatively content with what's been provided, and am interested to see more here. S'always good to soak in differing ideas, or even those mirroring your own...

What difficulty level are you playing on? I played on easy and...well, just finished the game about a half-hour ago. Total play time was around 7 hours. I only died a handful of times throughout, and never got into a situation that I couldn't stab/punch/blast my way out of. And yes...the SBD's are bitches to take down...got to the point I'd just run up to them and continually bash them in the face just to get some enjoyment out of it.

Who are some of your favorite authors and books?
LoneWolf16 replied to kumquatq3's topic in Way Off-Topic
Sadly enough...I like several of the books Dean Koontz has done...mainly 'Twilight Eyes', 'Fear Nothing', and 'Seize the Night'. 'Midnight' was good to...though disturbing........the guy's weird, yet, oddly entertaining. 'The Lord Of The Rings' seemed to bog down too much in detail...but still, nice read if you can stomache 10 pages describing a specific event that only lasted for a few seconds. And, lastly, my favorite series of books...fantasy books...a strange series called 'Xanth', written by Piers Anthony...so many, many puns. -
lol, love that show...poor monkey...being cheated on by its wife and going into a homocidal rage like that........................... I'm actually trying to visualize this fight.....and its not lookin' good for kumquat. Just lots of blood, screaming, and cries of "my eye! my eye! its raping my eye!" .................................. ........I have a weird imagination...

Favorite 8-bit nintendo games, top 8

Battletoads and Double Dragons ........the memories.....anthropomorphic frog people whaling on eachother... -
Bet's on Kumquat...Have to factor in human tenacity in the face of imminent danger. The strength thing.....not so much of an issue as you'd think. Intellect comes into play too, doesn't it? Certainly, a healthy adult male human could out-think our furry relative...I'm not saying that it all comes down to smarts, but people seem to be forgetting that whole...capability to strategize...thing....And I agree, it'd be hard as hell for someone to keep their cool in that situation, but if they maintained their composure...the little poo-flingin' bastard would sooooo die.............After gnawing off a few limbs/digits/dangling parts of the human anatomy, of course.

I've had my fill of FPS games, between Halo 2, Half-Life 2, Call of Duty, and Rainbow Six 3...pretty much played the hell out of that genre for the time being. Now, it isn't that these types of games are too difficult for me to grasp or anything...I just have a problem with doing algebraic equations in order to play them . I'm all for story, love well done NPCs, and am partial to a bit of the hack'n'slash...so maybe I hit "Exit Game" a bit too early, without giving the game a chance to show me what it was capable of. Thanks everybody, I've got time to kill, so I guess I'll give all of 'em a go. That'll take...what...a good 120 hours or so? Heh, I'm either up for limitless tedium, or a great rpg experience. Worth the gamble, I'd say... ^_^

Heh, maybe I should have been clearer. BG 2 is confusing to me, in that I couldn't tell what the hell I was supposed to do in that first area. I love a good story, and if its more story-oriented, I may be installing it some time soon. That is, if the gameplay is any good compared to the IWDs...
-
I've got all three of these games just sitting here, in their respective boxes, collecting dust. I already got tired of Bloodlines, Half-Life 2, and Kotor 2...so...a little help on deciding which of them I should pop in and give a go would be appreciated. Played the IWDs a bit, and sorta liked them, but only tried BG 2 for about 15 minutes or so, then I got confused and quit...

Damn...better scramble for that 100 posts...

Just knowing that ending wasn't the developer's original intention kind of placates me. Only a little though, since...it wasn't implemented, and instead, were left with an ultimate example of the anti-climax.

......God I'm an idiot... thanks, by the way.

Damn it...sorry about the double post of the topic. This error screen came up, so I hit refresh...and for some reason, this is the result. Any mod out there, please just delete one of these.

Pretty self explanatory. I just want to know if there's a command in the cheat console to aquire the Sith Commando armor, or any of the other sith armors. My DS Marauder would look damned fine in one of those.

My impressions after finishing..
LoneWolf16 replied to Tarelius's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
I just finished, little over an hour ago, and, can safely say, that never has a game's climax left me so completely and utterly unfulfilled. I felt (and still feel) lost, confused, even a bit angered by the amount of squandered potential. Several things don't add up, but I believe most, if not all of those things bugging me have been addressed already. As was mentioned, up until Dantooine (I was pure LS) the game was (somewhat) meeting my expectations. Then, something along the lines of "this" happened... Me: Hmm...wound? A wound in the force? What the hell does- But...but...full LS bar, and I just- What!? They're taking it back again!? But I...Kreia? *click on Vandar's corpse* blah blah....dead....blah blah. Me: ...................what was the point of the last 20 some hours? May have ad-libbed here and there...but the basic point is still clear...partly...a little........bit. Anyway, I'm still going to play through again, as a DSer...and I'll enjoy getting my revenge on all these damned hollow husks of code and pixels...steal 30 hours of MY life will they? -
I'm liking the game so far...then again, I'm only 15 hours into it. The story telling has been great, and character development is, at worst, decent. I haven't become uber powerful yet, as I've thought I would be even this early, what with some of the posts on here being so adamant about that fact. Props to OE...aside from the few bugs I've encountered, and some odd crashes here and there, this is a pretty damn good game. I look forward to NWN 2.

Congratulations on Screwing it up Obsidian

...I just played for 5 hours....and um...just crashed. That good, or bad, in terms of an initial release for a game? -

*pauses as he puts in the final CD* Bugs in the what now? Wait...your telling me I just spent $50 for a buggy game? ...Again...*cough*VTM:B*cough* Then again...aren't all computers different? A good deal of those bugs, aside from the spelling errors and the other obvious game flaws, could very well be caused by incompatability in your system...or I'm just making excuses for Obsidian...........or am just desperately hoping I can play the damned game without an abundance of crashes/broken quests/poor framrate...etc. -
Gamespot Rumor: Troika shutting its doors
LoneWolf16 replied to Gryphcon's topic in Computer and Console
Wow...Canada is lookin' better and better... Valid point, too. You are more likely to purchase a CD having heard some of the band's music pre-pocket emptying. On topic...or, rather, what this topic has become: True, mp3 downloading is theft, but, that doesn't mean people will stop doing it. So, Jessica Simpson can't afford a gold plated limo right when the urge to buy hits her, and, instead, has to wait a few weeks for her albums (Albums, in general, which, despite what people think, are still selling very nicely) to pull in enough cash. It was mentioned earlier, and I agree...this has nothing to do with individual morals, so trying to make theft seem "bad" is really a dead end. (Don't get me wrong...I don't think theft is "good", but it sure as hell won't keep me from gettin that song I really like for free...) -
This is just sad...the movie thing, I mean. I...how.........h-.....how does somebody like this get to be a director of big budget films? Blasphemy, I say! .......Not to say that Far Cry's plot was brilliant or anything, but it doesn't deserve this kind of rape.

...or just Half-assing it.

Hey...I'm in the midwest... I thump no bibles...nor do bibles thump me. I'm strictly against the thumpage of bibles, or other fantasy novels in general. I agree though, large number of people out here have that look about 'em. Ya know...that "God is my savior, he loves me...but...not you, 'cause your wearing a pink scarf" look.
