  1. Call of Duty's better...
  2. I doubt they intended anything. They just didn't care enough to do anything about it. The colonial administration doesn't engineer the crop failure, it just fails to act to save lives. Part of the colonial mindset is that the 'natives' are used to death and don't feel about it the same way 'we' do. Though thousands of deaths would be a terrible thing in England, in India it's somehow 'normal'. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> So very, very sad, yet unfortunately, accurate.
  3. Heh, again, I thought he fit the part well...Viggo I mean. Then again, my pre-conceived notions of how the characters might look and act were somewhat similar to their on-screen incarnations.
  4. You could try format c: and reinstall all your software. Seriously, if you have the time, it's worth doing. It improved the performance of quite a few games for me. I don't pretend to understand why, except that all kinds of things obviously install themselves while you're not looking. It also makes you think about what you have on your hard disk that you don't want to lose, and encourages good backup practice. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Oddly enough, I was just about to re-install Windows XP, though for different reasons (My god, blue-screen viruses are horrible!). Similar to formatting, since it rewrites all windows related files, but less extreme...that and I've got a good 10 gigs of stuff I want to save, and don't have the patience, or the number of cds it'd require to get it all safely stored.
  5. No, not dreadfully good at all, but I think he was good for the part. Somehow, he seemed to fit that role.
  6. I have a gig of ram, pretty damn good ram, too, an nvidia 6800, and p4 3ghz. Bloodlines is the one game I have that performs poorly. I'm talking like 5 fps. I've got HL2...and it runs great. What's going on?
  7. Very well said. And he's American, WithTeeth. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Yay, quoted twice on the same thread. My day has been made :D . Sadly enough. True, it's more like 10, or 11 . I agree with you about religion being a large part of people's lives, but I'm honest, and fully capable of crafting a political system devoid of all but the barest religious influences...keeping just the basic moral principles, of course.
  8. Two stereotypes in one sentence. How efficient. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Why thank you. I do try to squeeze in as much brazen maliciousness into my posts as possible. It was meant to be a joke, but I'm bad at humor.
  9. This is getting interesting I just woke up, so forgive me if any of this sounds weird...and it might, or might not, whatever. Three things to comment on. 1. Women would NOT make better leaders than men in every instance. Nor do men out-do women significantly enough to warrant their being in power. It really just depends on the situation and on what behavioral tendencies you believe to be present in a being capable of competent leadership. Men are idiots, women are prone to bouts of psychosis. Take your pick. 2. I'm pretty much in agreement with DarthWeevil on the subject of god. Our being the deities and all...since that's the most sensible argument I've heard in a while now. 3. Jellybelly - Our (by which I mean the U.S.) foreign policy is absolute rubbish. Pure, unadulterated bull**** in a nice shiny, pre-owned, luxury, one-of-a-kind, all-american package. Our political leaders are complete morons....which hasn't really changed for the better part of a century or two...well, most of them are, though there's a few good, seemingly intelligent ones mixed in here and there. Yes, were way too young to have the power we do...our recent actions being excellent evidence of that. Like an eight-year-old suddenly given dominion over time and space, it just doesn't work out. I like the cowboy/revolver part. Fits in quite well with the nation's mentality.
  10. <---Agnostic...Just to clarify. An old man who deserves this end no more than any of the rest of us. But, he's gone, an undeniable fact...so its best to just remember his achievements, his good deeds, and let him go. ><FISH'>, That was one of the more immature comments I've heard in a long while, and yes, that's saying a lot.

    Help

A manual usually comes with them...
  12. The basic architecture of the stories is the same, but the draw...I think...is that its the same damn thing, reimagined. A remix. Its the modifications, the amendments, and the improvements that somehow manage to keep it "fresh". At least thats what I'm getting from this...
  13. Guardian 16 Weapons Master 9 Only played through once...but that number seems pretty low compared to everybody else's.
  14. Been there, done that. Got the t-shirt. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> But they charged extra for the Anal-Probe, didn't they? They always do. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> The Anal-Probe...tsk, that's where they get ya. Price gougers. <_<
  15. I'm really only scared of people with guns, knives, bats, hammers, axes, flamethrowers, fighter jets, bombs, missles, and nuclear warheads. Everybody else...fine by me...just stay away from my stuff, and I won't have to cut you...
  16. Ooh...Unadulterated extraterrestrial induced violence, culminating in utter bedlam and the annihilation of homo-sapiens. Neato ^_^
  17. Wait...I've been under a rock for the past few years. Anybody mind explaining to me what is meant by Ewan McGregor replacing the original Kenobi, Sir Alec Guiness? I heard there were changes made to the OT when it came on DVD...but I already had them on VHS...so thought it would just be a waste of cash. On topic...3-d sounds good. The battles would be terrific, imagine that line of walkers in ESB comin' right at you, blasting away at all the scurrying rebels. ^_^
  18. Hmm... <{POST_SNAPBACK}> (w00t) :D
  19. Since you've got that new system and all......this is just for future reference, try http://newegg.com for specific parts at...well, pretty damn good prices. Not to plug a company, or anything... ::leaves with mysteriously aquired monetary gains::
  20. Maybe they're trying to help us identify with the game, and the universe it's trying to portray...perhaps by making it as close to real life as possible.
  21. It's a passable FPS, with cool moments...like when you see one of your squadmates ram a knife through the back of a trando's skull for the first time. :D Weapons are remarkably weak, considering they're firing lasers. It shoudn't take 15 shots to drop a single Geonosian warrior. 3, 5 tops, would have made a lot more sense (Though I'm now certain that the idea is for you to constantly tell your squadmates to concentrate fire on the more dangerous foes)...on the subject of enemies...variety is a good thing, something the dev. team seemed to have forgotten when making the game. Visuals are pretty good, and squad banter helps pass the time. The ending...as with KOTOR 2 and Halo 2...was a dissapointment.
  22. A Perfect Circle.......that's it. I love the lyrics, Maynard's vocals, and the sound is consistently pleasing. Very...very pleasing. :"> Anybody have a towel?
  23. Its funny...because....................................... I...I don't know. But the penny arcade...classic.
