Nice. I read that build before but kind of skipped over it because of the nerfs to both WotP and Soul Annihilation. Inquisitor in general though is what I'm leaning towards, but probably either dual wield sabers or rapier + small shield for the accuracy modal to boost spellcasting (the +acc from that applies to spells, yes?). Spellblade is the other option that I find interesting. Great suggestions all around! I don't want to spoil too much, but there is a soulbound rapier, as well as a unique shield, in the Seeker, Slayer, Survivor (did I get the order correct) DLC that would work perfectly for your build, I think. EDIT: This is presuming that you go w/ Cipher as one of your multiclasses, of course.

I have the Racial and Background stats only. I'll double check that I didn't get a typo in there later. I count 82 points spent, when I think there is only 78 points available on Character Creation w/o Berath's Blessing stat boost (which provides 90 total, but also bumps up the minimum values allowed). EDIT: On another note, would you say the Trickster class's Mirror Image is definitely needed to make deflection high enough for ripostes to happen regularly? In addition, have you considered using Xoti's Sickle for the Deflector bonus & accuracy debuff?

What kinds of spells do you like? That information might tell us a bit more about what would suit your tastes. For instance, if you like summoning spells, then a Chanter would be an excellent multiclass to pair with something. I'd recommend looking at the Street Sweeper (Rogue Streetfighter / Chanter Troubadour) build if you're interested in a more active playstyle. I don't think Herald fits what you like, even though it is very, very good and durable, because it seems like you prefer a more active DPS role to a tank build. Of course, I suppose you could play a 2-handed Herald for a bit more active playstyle. If, as I suspect, you're more interested in a DPS role, the next question I'd ask is HOW you want to dish out your damage. Do you want to use both melee AND spells to dish out great damage, or primarily melee with spells as support? If the latter, I'd recommend a Spellblade (Rogue Streetfighter / Wizard No Subclass), as you can use Wizard spells to both conjure a great weapon (Citzal's Spirit Lance) that can do AoE damage and apply rogue debuffs in AoE and to cause status afflictions that allow for Sneak Attack damage. Of course, this build doesn't come with its own healing abilities, except for a few okay spells. Feel free to let us know more about what you'd like.

Is it just me, or do you have too many stat points in your distribution? Are you counting item boosts in your stats?

This is a great build that is making me think about how I want to do my next character. I think I'm going to make him a Black Jacket that uses this build's foundational ideas combined with a couple other things: Rust's Poignard w/ Unseen Killer for an additional stealth when you want it and The Eye of Wael for additional stealths in longer battles.

Do gaze spells still work like this? Could it be that only gaze spells from weapons work like this? EDIT: Also, what about using The Eye of Wael with this build for more invisibility?

Pets start with 5 AR, and they autoscale from Fine at level 1, to Exceptional at level 9, Superb level 13, and then legendary at level 17 (for +4 at last). Bear gets an additional +1 AR to start. They basically have the equivalent of medium armor which tbh for tanking purposes is not enough on PotD+upscaling (will be decent on lower difficulties, especially without upscaling). With Resilient Companion they get the equivalent of heavy armor, which is better, but you still probably need a paladin aura or a Hardy buff from a priest to really make them soak up any significant enemy hate without dying super fast. Bears do pretty well with Resilient Companion. But yeah, with lack of engagement, it doesn't really matter. Just go charge at a squishy and run away if you can't handle the heat. If you really wanted to be tricky, the lack of engagement means you could keep running your pet out of melee range just as the enemy starts an attack, which will then automatically miss (with "(out of range)" in combat log). Thanks for the feedback. Out of Wolf & Lion, which would you recommend? Wolf, for greater base damage, or Lion for bonus to attack speed, or would you say that it really doesn't make that much of a difference, all things considered?

So, I'm planning to roll up a Ghost Heart multi-class soon that will have some CC, some DoTs available to it, and maybe some slow healing available to it, depending on the 2nd class. I'm trying to decide which animal companion would work best for the Ghost Heart. I've done some research already and playtested a bit with the wolf (it dies quickly). On the one hand, the two main damage dealers are the Wolf and the Lion. The Wolf is squishy (but Ghost Heart = no Bonded Grief) but stronger than the other companions, while the Lion has more health and has an attack speed bonus. On the other hand, the Bear and the Boar are semi-decent off-tanks, from what I've read. The Bear has a bit more armor and does decent damage, while the Boar has the most health and has a health regeneration effect, but is slow and doesn't deal a lot of damage. I've read that animal companions generally don't deal a lot of damage, even with all of their buffs (Predator's Sense, Merciless Companion, Vicious Companion); if this is still the case, is it even worth going something other than Boar? I mean, I could go Bear for a little extra armor, but will that really make a difference? As added information, I am planning to be a Hearth Orlan for extra crits and I am going to be running with the official companions. Any thoughts would be appreciated.

Well, if you've got a way to remove & prevent concentration (Chanter, Druid), and you can reduce the reload time (Streetfighter rogue, Ranger to a lesser extent), I suppose you could interrupt people constantly. Course, pierce-immune enemies won't be damaged by those weapons. EDIT: I've toyed with the idea of combining a Chanter w/ either a Streetfighter rogue or a Ranger using Crossbows and/or Arbalests. As a joke/reference, I was thinking of naming the character "Kanye West".

I think what Frak is asking is if Nalpazca monks still suffer the Nalpazca crash debuff after AD expires. Yep. Got the answer. They do suffer "Burden of the Soul" after being dampened. Hmm, so either spam drugs in those fights or choose another (sub)class. Choices, choices. Can a Transcendent (Nalpazca/Cipher (any subclass)) take Iron Will & Bull's Will? If so, perhaps consider a Transcendent (+ Borrowed Instinct, Psychovampiric Shield) for buffing Will defense to (nearly) untouchable levels. Or run a Votary who casts Moonwell scrolls, I suppose. Also, isn't there a unique armor with an enchantment (Ardent, I think) that increases Will defense as health goes down? Finally, also consider Gipon Prudesco for Bravado's boost to RES at the beginning of a fight, I suppose.
