You don't need an NPC to teach you. But you can only enchant unique items in PoE2 You can no longer buy a trash item, slap a legendary enchantment on it, some durgan steel, a corrosive lash and smash things with it. (Which makes me sad, cause i usually prefer lower tier armors visually and just enchant them to viability in PoE1 but cant do the same here )

I killed him without even having any quests for it You can still work with both the Principi and the Vaillians (pretty sure you don't even get any negative reputation with either)

Factions are side quests. Critical path is you following Eothas, so it's Pretty sure you can even skip Hasongo and go straight to Ashen Maw.

Same. I only did the Magran Teeth quest, after exploring literally the entire map and done everything i could find. Even then it was only like 60% of the hours i've spent in PoE 1's playthrough, despite the fact that travelling between quests takes much longer in Deadfire. The more i think about it, the shorter Deadfire seems to me. I need to stop thinking about it.

Yes, people even make jokes that main plot feels like a prologue for the actual plot that never came. Come to think of it... I'm pretty sure even Skyrim has a bigger main story than Deadfire. I kinda made myself sad now.

I doubt it. Gullet is an actual word, it's just another word for the oesophagus, which makes sense considering Gullet's location and purpose.

It's also great to accidentally hit civilians and cause entire areas to go hostile. Works perfectly with her story as well... Uhh... No spoilers though

Except romance can be quite endearing when done right. You don't need multiple entries, or sequels, to create meaningful romance. Some of my favorite romances come from dragon age origins. It's just here, the devs didn't have the talent to make good romance. In which case, they should have instead not opted for romance. So maybe it's a bit short and not that well written for the characters. I still find it entertaining to have Hylea as a wingman Honestly, Hylea is adorable. You should be able to romance her instead. Not when she had birds defecate all over my ship! The cow! She made me cake for doing her bidding. Cake is great.
