[ENDING SPOILERS] The ending of Deadfire and what it means for The Lore
Juodas Varnas replied to Aramintai's topic in Pillars of Eternity II: Deadfire Stories (Spoiler Warning!)Congratulations! It's an incoherent mass of eyes and mouths! I'd personally like to see Skaen's Godlikes, since they were mentioned to be so malformed that they'd usually be killed at birth, so finding one that wasn't would be pretty cool.

[POTD Difficulty] Launch NOT tuned discussion thread
Juodas Varnas replied to Haran's topic in Pillars of Eternity II: Deadfire General Discussion (NO SPOILERS)You can't have your companions knocked out if they never get into the fights and you solo everything with Rogue-shenanigans.

So Ydwin (and by lesser extend Rekke) is wasted as sidekick
Juodas Varnas replied to BrokenMask's topic in Pillars of Eternity II: Deadfire Stories (Spoiler Warning!)Honestly, the biggest issue for me is that all of the companions are way too nice. Where are all the arseholes?! Now that the game has mentioned Skaen Godlikes, i totally want one in my party.

Extensive first thoughts after finishing Deadfire's first playthrough
Juodas Varnas replied to Tanjaxxx's topic in Pillars of Eternity II: Deadfire General Discussion (NO SPOILERS)Some of my own favourite music comes from Arcanum; It's all pretty heavy on the violin, and is somewhat depressing, though hopeful. Just like the game itself. It's dark, sexist, racist and you start of as a nobody. Damn....I really do love that game. Ain't no other taking up the Num 1. spot any time soon! I love sad violins Did you finish a 'judge' school in the last 5 minutes? Cuz'....uhh......you be...judging? And...stuff.....*sighs and crossed out another failed comeback joke* No, i mean, i genuinely like sad violins.

Nomu the Marauder
Juodas Varnas replied to Melusina's topic in Pillars of Eternity II: Deadfire Stories (Spoiler Warning!)Abocco in the wild mare should be it, i think Though, i had issues with the Bounty giver NPCs literally disappearing from my game (like the one in the Serpent's Crown, next to the pet vendor). So i ended up not being able to complete a whole bunch of the bounties. And i'm 99.999999% sure i didn't murder the quest givers!

Anyone else kind of regretting multiclassing?
Juodas Varnas replied to master guardian's topic in Pillars of Eternity II: Deadfire General Discussion (NO SPOILERS)First character i played was a Pure Priest and i was having massive issues getting through most of the encounters in the game (probably because Eder had died on the ship during the first fight of the game and i just assumed he'll turn up later and not be actually dead for real). Then i rerolled into a Barbarian/Skald and basically smashed everything everywhere and then paralyze everyone and then smash everything else, while constantly dealing raw damage to everyone around me. But i didn't feel like it. Then i rerolled into a pure Rogue Trickster and it was even easier! I basically could solo almost any encounter by just sneaking up, doing massive damage to someone, turning invisible and running off. Then rinse and repeat until everyone is dead. And with the Trickster's mirrored image, parrying dagger modal, the Rogue was tough as nails (second wind is insanely OP instant heal too) and if the fight was going badly, i could just escape into invisibility and retry.

Extensive first thoughts after finishing Deadfire's first playthrough
Juodas Varnas replied to Tanjaxxx's topic in Pillars of Eternity II: Deadfire General Discussion (NO SPOILERS)Aye, the music felt a tad generic for my tastes. I honestly, must preferred the music in the recently released Battletech game. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=i-4svr0-kUc

Extensive first thoughts after finishing Deadfire's first playthrough
Juodas Varnas replied to Tanjaxxx's topic in Pillars of Eternity II: Deadfire General Discussion (NO SPOILERS)Why would anyone judge? Maia's the best of the lot in Deadfire (Grieving Mother is still better darn it!) Honestly, for me, one of the biggest nitpicks i had that i was sometimes railroaded into specific dispositions by simply not having neutral options, i was playing this "benevolent ****" archetype by being a pretty decent guy, but shady as hell, however i ended up maxing out pretty much every disposition except for cruel. Like, if i'm playing a pathologically lying pacifist, what am i supposed to pick when the only options are "honest" or "aggressive"? Also, wish there was more interaction with Vella apart from that single dialogue option at the very start of the bloody game.

Anyone knows where to purchase/find vithraki brains?
Juodas Varnas replied to ppscurry's topic in Pillars of Eternity II: Deadfire Stories (Spoiler Warning!)It's in the south east corner of the map. You'll know it when you see it.

How are the factions?
Juodas Varnas replied to Cataphractarii's topic in Pillars of Eternity II: Deadfire Stories (Spoiler Warning!)I didn't go alone, i went with the Aeldys - led Principi and didn't lose any companions (except for the ending slides saying Pallegina got sunk in a ship, but the body was never found - so i assume she sprouted wings and ****ed off or something)

Anyone knows where to purchase/find vithraki brains?
Juodas Varnas replied to ppscurry's topic in Pillars of Eternity II: Deadfire Stories (Spoiler Warning!)There is a couple of Vithracks you can murder, including one ship captain and a merchant in the Black market in Nekewara. Also you can just buy the brains in the tavern in Splintered Reef.

Special boats?
Juodas Varnas replied to MaximilianXimenez's topic in Pillars of Eternity II: Deadfire Stories (Spoiler Warning!)No zombie sailor. Lame.

How are the factions?
Juodas Varnas replied to Cataphractarii's topic in Pillars of Eternity II: Deadfire Stories (Spoiler Warning!)I ended up going with Aeldys' ruled Principi and none of my companions left ( i was romancing Maia, so maybe that's the reason why she didn't leave?), had to fight the Hazanui on deactivating the mcguffin, but she didn't seem to react to me killing her boss, so whatever. The worst part is that i didn't get too keep the Ghost Ship. Really pissed about that. Though the ending slides were kinda effed, took me a while to realize that i basically ****ed Port Maje and Tikiwara by completing Maia's quest. Kinda feel bad about it. Now i'm wondering if i can purposefully **** that quest up, without pissing Maia off.

Vella, Xoti question...
Juodas Varnas replied to Tanjaxxx's topic in Pillars of Eternity II: Deadfire Stories (Spoiler Warning!)She just sometimes chats with the companions aaaand that's about it (there's probably like a single line of dialogue with each companion, except for Serafen who seems to have gotten a bit more, probably because he's Orlan too) Kind of disappointing to be honest.
-
Is Xoti supposed to be this insane?
Juodas Varnas replied to BalkothTheFeared's topic in Pillars of Eternity II: Deadfire Stories (Spoiler Warning!)Well, in my playthrough i had Xoti not romanced (had my eyes set on Maia) and released the souls into luminous adra and she wasn't especially nutty. She did start screeching at Pallegina the first time i took them out together, but you know... Women, how do they work?

Removing tavern recruits
Juodas Varnas replied to DragonKing24's topic in Pillars of Eternity II: Deadfire General Discussion (NO SPOILERS)You can murder them like any other companion. Just keep punching them until they get 4 injuries and they're gone.

Remove Diplomatic Points?
Juodas Varnas replied to Judicator's topic in Pillars of Eternity II: Deadfire Stories (Spoiler Warning!)Honestly, i have no idea how what you say in your dreams affect your reputation outside of them. I say remove all dispositions from dialogue with the gods.

Moon Godlike Heads no longer Match Portraits
Juodas Varnas replied to Havelok's topic in Pillars of Eternity II: Deadfire General Discussion (NO SPOILERS)It's funny. Usually it's the other way around. There being many portraits and not enough options to make the in-game model look like them and not too many options with not enough portraits.

Best Skills to get?
Hmm, I suppose it depends on what skills the companions start with points invested in. I do know that party contribution to skills functions like this: Total party points/contribution to skill check person 1/1 2/2 4/3 7/4 So for example if you have two NPCs that each have one point in Alchemy, that's a total of 2 points, and you get an additional 2 points to your skill check. You start to lose efficiency at 3 points and beyond. God, that's such a weird bloody system. So the best way is to have 2s on everyone and everything? No it's total. You want your whole party total to have 7 to get the +4 bonus. I don't get it.

Upgrading companions' armor
People complained about it? What absolute plonkers! I loved being able to enchant even the flimsiest of items into something worthwhile! I only wish you could've renamed the items as well.

[Import Issue] Eder: That's not what happened
Juodas Varnas replied to Wormerine's topic in Pillars of Eternity II: Deadfire Technical Support (Spoiler Warning!)Honestly, the "Who are you" is probably here for the people who haven't played PoE 1 and even for those who have, it comes off as your character joking

Dialogue and companion-skills
Juodas Varnas replied to EmilAmundsen's topic in Pillars of Eternity II: Deadfire General Discussion (NO SPOILERS)I think companion skills count, but not 1:1 ratio like

Save Import vs. Creating New History
Juodas Varnas replied to Augustus's topic in Pillars of Eternity II: Deadfire General Discussion (NO SPOILERS)Both options are pretty much completely borked.
