  1. You can still see plenty of these dumb looking mugs in wrestling, boxing and nightclub bouncers. Life always finds a way to find its niche, or perhaps it's just a result of being beaten so often that face turns into a cube shaped mug, lol. In any case, not all fantasy characters are warriors by occupation, but by circumstances, coming from different layers and lineages of society, which does make an impact of appearance. And I think it's incorrect to apply any real life examples to a fantasy character in general. Oh man, i thought that face reminded me of someone from another game. Letho!
  2. Don't be dissin' muscle wizards now.
  3. Honestly, i don't really see anything about the Paladin orders that would cause them to support or condemn animancy (apart from the religious paladin orders like the Steel Garrote, but they're not exactly playable). Seems like a thing that depends on the person itself.
  4. Dark Souls disagrees with you: Well Dark Souls also calls this a Great Sword, so i don't think Dark Souls' opinion matters. Indeed. Clearly, this is the Greatest Sword. I'm so sorry. Honestly, i wouldn't even call it a sword. It's more like a... giant rock popsicle
  5. Well, you're given the opportunity to wear a shield *on top* of a full-plate armour which already isn't very practical since the latter acted as a replacement of sorts for the former. Dual-wielding shields doesn't seem like a great idea but then again a person *could* do it and that could be the "shtick" for that particular character for whatever reason - but it does seem like a pretty specific and overly niche strategy and character build so as to build dedicated defensive modals and so on for that one character, or for that matter specific animations and so on as you'd likely require to animate a right-handed shield in order to wield it and, again, it doesn't seem feasible considering how utterly niche and most likely terrible the build would be. Well, it's not like shield+full plate armor was unheard of, as there is quite a lot of period artwork depicting fully armored knights wielding shields. Besides not all weapons were equally capable of parrying blows, so i could definitely see a knight that's using a flail or a mace using a shield as well, due to the weapon being pretty useless at defending yourself. Dark Souls disagrees with you: Well Dark Souls also calls this a Great Sword, so i don't think Dark Souls' opinion matters.
  6. In no particular order: Fallout series (talking about 1,2 and New Vegas, the rest don't bloody count) Shadowrun games (Dragonfall was probably my favorite of the 3) And probably Pillars as well. Of course i've played more, but these are the ones that stuck to me the most.
  7. Not really, cause it's horribly impractical and kinda dumb. And considering that Pillars has been quite good (so far) when it came to weapon and armor designs being relatively practical.
  8. Are there *any* game effects that will hit "undead" but not "vessels" though? The few lore references to "undead" seem more descriptive than prescriptive, as it were . . . it's not like D&D where there's a separate "category" of undead and certain things effect undead in specific ways (i.e., a priest's Turn Undead, etc.) In Eora, that "category" is "vessels". Is there any game effect that affects pugs and not other dogs?
  9. The way i see it is basically all Undead are vessels, but not all vessels are Undead, like all pugs are dogs, but not all dogs are pugs.
  10. I assume this is a joke right? Given the amount of sugar she was feeding them: no chance. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=os9J0QXo2AE
  11. I really doubt that a portrait that was in the first Pillars won't make a return in the sequel. I mean, it's a beta, of course stuff is missing from the beta. (On a side note, whoever this portrait was based off looks SUPER familiar, but i just can't put my finger on who the hell it actually is! It's really getting on my nerves) There are lots of things that aren't in the beta. But it's an official portrait, so I think it will make a return. Come back to me with this if it won't appear in release version. So the answer to both your questions is probably the same thing. Unfortunately I believe this portrait was based on the guy that caused the giant implosion over at NeoGaf. I suspect this is why it may have been omitted from Deadfire as all the other PoE1 portraits are in there. Despite it being based on someone of dubious moral fibre I still view the portrait 100% as my watcher which is why I'd like to try and find a watercolour of it. Is it really? I looked up the guy and i don't see the resemblance. But the portrait still looks super familiar.
  12. They'r not crown horns, they're icicles, lol. Oh, are they? I don't actually watch Game of Thrones. I never got into it. And now with the bajilion of seasons there are, i have nowhere near enough time to binge watch everything.

  14. For Rymrgard i always imagined them being more like Wendigos. Covered in fur and horns. Less cannibalism though... probably. Though the white walker-esque design would be pretty cool (though the crown-like horns make me think of Woedica)

  16. Mhmm... sounds like corporate meddling to me. Saw the success of Divinity OS2 and went 'we have to do this thing or we might not make enough money' Have i mentioned that i'm not a big fan of fully voiced RPGs? I feel like they always lose something in exchange for it and doesn't really gain anything meaningful. (Probably my favorite RPGs of recent years, the Shadowrun ones are not voiced at all, as far as i remember).
  17. As someone who doesn't even like the concept of multi-classing, i'll probably play subsequent playthroughs with single classes as well.
  18. My thoughts on those answers and everyone who picked them. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=v8iLba039_0
  19. I just hope the RPG aspects won't suffer from it. Never really cared for Voice overs in my RPGs, personally.
  20. Don't be a weirdo man. And this is coming from a bona fide weirdo.
  21. Fix her? There's nothing to fix in her old portrait. It's perfect! I still prefer Grieving Mother though.
  22. Oh... So i've spent the last hour or so scrounging through the old tweets for no reason! Great job with this post though, guys!
