I think they already included that. In the video for update 37 at the 2:00 mark where they show off the skull flail, there is a character setup with a cloak and a pendant/amulet. Either that or they separated the amulets/pendants/circlets from cloaks and put them in a category of their own. I assume they'll cover the buffs the same way they already do in PoE1.

That's the Republicans, not Democrats
-
For the new motto/slogan/message that the Democrats are rolling out on Monday, they seem to have settled on "a Better Deal" and an economic message for their new messaging. In full, it's actually “A Better Deal: Better Jobs, Better Wages, Better Future”. Kind of has a bit of a ring of the New Deal thing to it. It did get mocked for being unoriginal, but Make America Great Again isn't Trump's invention either. The Daily Beast article WaPo article So, what do you guys think? Remains to be seen whether it catches on.

Given that it doesn't make sense to start at level 1 with legendary tier equipment (I think one of those Beraths blessings will allow some for a new game, but that doesn't apply here as it's a newgame+ type feature), the devs have said that we won't have that equipment. Whether it's 'no equipment will be transferred' or 'only certain equipment' remains to be seen since, as far as we know, no equipment will transfer.

*sponsored killing brought to you by the biggest arms dealers in the world. I guess the biggest difference is how openly the corruption, self interest and wanton disregard for civil rights is being conducted - but then Trump just a ordinary businessman - he doesn't have the network to do it more covertly like the Clintons or Bushs. Sometimes it seems that the only real loss was the liberals push to change social language, but given how zero-tolerance they were about progress it's not surprising that backfired. Either way, we are in for a hell of a term. That was a small, if very vocal, minority of liberals. Of course though, if Clinton got elected, all of the problems that the Dems have now, such as lack of messaging which got exposed with Trump getting elected and the falling way below of what they expected, would fester for another four years and might end up worse off than they are now. This poll shows pretty clearly the messaging hole that they are in.

Well, our allies wouldn't be alienated and we'd still be in the Paris climate accords, so, not really nothing. I'm gonna disagree with you on the scandals bit. Sure, the Republicans will still hammer her over emails and Benghazi, and there most likely would still be a Russia investigation. But I don't think there would be any new scandals (at least not right away) or Clinton getting caught up in the Russia web. As for dysfunction, if you mean general dysfunction with Congress, then yeah, you can bet that the Republicans will blockade her just about everywhere. They aren't exactly wholly functional now either.

I don't think anybody really thought most of the names on there were serious anyway. Though if Transcendant (or Transcendent, whichever's the right spelling) and EtherGrab are Mitch's ideas and not ones that were already created by the team or picked from elsewhere, those are actually pretty good. I think 'transcendant' is particularily fitting for monk+cipher.
-
I can't tell if this is serious or not, but I approve irrespectively. Far more clever than I could have hoped for. I don't think it's entirely serious, but it's still funny. As Max said, the devs can always use that community multiclass names thread for ideas, I'm sure the other communities have their own ideas as well, plenty to go around.

You are physically there it seems, and a fight almost broke out it seems. Being physically there and fighting are the two biggest things we know of it so far. Actually, no, look at the vid at 9:44 and 9:45 (you have to unpause and pause quickly), your physical, material, body is still in the dungeon (still standing seemingly?). In a sense, it's as physical as being in a VR suite while wearing a kinetotactile suit, your awareness is there, but you are as physically there as an avatar in a video game (such meta, wow). Your soul, or perhaps the projection of it, is there, but your physical body is not. Though what isn't clear is whether it's more of a projection (the VR suite analogy) or whether your soul is actually present there. As for the fighting, yeah, there's a bunch of guys crawling out of portals who don't look too friendly, but we don't know if a fight actually IS about to start, and Obsidian being Obsidian, depending on stats and whatever, we might not have to fight those. Lore aside, the game is certainly going to treat you as being physically there. How death and injuries are treated might be the same, but we'll see eventually.

I don't know about entering the Beyond via the statue. Obviously the statue itself will have a very major role to play, we just don't know what. Although, entering the Beyond via the statue would be interesting given the story behind Caed Nua himself and the statue he made. Like it was an attempt to enter the Beyond, but he got interrupted by a revolt before he was able to actually do it.

Again with the insinuation that homeless people are just lazy. It's such a great thought process because it goes like "only lazy people are ever homeless → I'm not lazy → I will never be homeless". If only. I take it then that, for instance, the hundreds of thousands of homeless veterans are just lazy? A certain book I'm reading says that that, by 1993, just about 5% of all companies in the US had started looking into ways to automate processes and suppress jobs, where 75% of all jobs in the US were essentially repetitive tasks (i.e. easily substituted for a machine). I take it that the millions of people being laid off with no prospects of finding even a job flipping burgers are lazy? The downward slope in prime-age male % participation in the workforce hasn't changed despite the recent employment upturn, which is in part driven by poor quality job creation. Are those not able to find stable, full-time jobs lazy? And no, you don't see roving gangs of starving proles because they turn to crime rather than starve. Are you sure you don't see roving gangs in the most economically depressed areas of the US? GD was being pretty clearly sarcastic and/or tongue-in-cheek.

The general consensus here on the forum (from what people have talked about anyway) seems to be "We have some concerns, but are willing to see how it goes." However, if the objections become 'significant opposition' during the beta, would it be too late? I have no idea about the reddit community or elsewhere, but it might be a similar "lets wait and see until we get our hands on it" attitude.

Is the bit with the map really as 'extreme word salad that makes no sense; as the youtube captions are making it out to be? The youtube captions kind of goes to crap mostly after that though :/

With double the VO we might get close. I hope we'll at leas be wadding through flooded temples. Getting full underwater levels would be both a surprise and shock. But if navigation works nearly the same as on land then that would be really neat to see. Maybe some Archemage has an underwater breathing trait he can bequeath your party. Or diving suits even. There's even a diving helmet already ingame. There are diving suit designs that did exist in the period that the PoE world is roughly technologically at (15th to 18th centuries. Though there aren't any hints of work on the steam engine. Actually, I'm surprised the dwarves haven't developed it already.), so, they wouldn't be too out of place. Wouldn't be surprised if there was some archmage or something in the Deadfire that was more focused on water related spells.

About import save
smjjames replied to Ildun's topic in Pillars of Eternity II: Deadfire General Discussion (NO SPOILERS)
Well, a feeling of continuity for one. I know someone said that any quest based abilities, etc (such as the blood pool) that you gain will be re-added (or an equivalent of it) as you re-accquire your soul bits. Also greater control over choices that you make that might affect things in PoE2, though there probably won't be many of those. I don't think we know all of the benefits of importing a save yet, but the primary draw is likely that feeling of continuity. -
Ye it though he had mentioned the stalker before and i couldnt remember where. Pretty sure the stalker subclass hasn't been mentioned before. I wonder if the questioner was reading the discussion on melee ranger or no-companion ranger, or maybe Josh Sawyer was, or both. Also, stalker/rogue anybody? Seems like a nice combination of a multiclass.
