  1. You can still back the game and get beta access from the backer portal, IIRC. I thought backer signups were closed now?
  2. Since it would be OP to transfer the dispositions as they were, I fully expect the dispositions to be wiped. Besides, the dispositions in PoE1 are your reputation within the Eastern Reach, now you're going to a place where you're likely little known, if at all. Though maybe rumors will precede you if you were particularily notorious or high in some disposition. Although, we DO know that there will be a chance to run into characters in the Deadfire that we've met in PoE1. In one of Josh's preview teasers or in some fig update vid, we saw that we will run into Bellasege (might be dependent on whether you do Aloths personal quest or not, plus the decisions made), so, she will definetly be there. There's also a pretty good possibility that we will run into Maerwith, the infamous (and famous) captian of the Red Dream. We know that some of the choices made during PoE1 (besides the companion and player endings) will have an affect in PoE2, we'll just have to find out for ourselves just what they are.
  3. Well, the devotion IS the specialization. The idea behind it is supposed to be like 'be one with your weapon', kind of martial artist almost. Maybe it'll be enhanced weapon abilities or something, they haven't revealed the benefits yet.
  4. Well, Ranger has several non-companion based abilities that focus on ranged weapons, so, a non-companion ranger would work well as Ghost Heart and multiclassed as something else, or something else+Ghost Heart, depending on the order you want to do it.
  5. I guess the closest to a non-animal companion is the Ghost Heart subclass. Since the animal companion requires summoning for that subclass, you can just choose not to summon it. I suppose that subclass was in mind for those who wanted to have the animal companion only be around when needed, and it could work for those who don't want to have one. It does seem a little gamey, but it would work to the same purpose as a non-animal companion ranger. Though as injurai said, a lot of the rangers abilities are companion centric.
  6. Easy enough to test it in the dev sandbox with no armor (or basic clothes that don't have armor and no penalty to speed if they don't feel like testing the characters naked) and load up on as many speed enchantments and buffs that they can stack.
  7. I think we can assume that many aspects of the game are work in progress, so, unless the devs state "look this is exactly how this is gonna be", especially graphics/technical-wise, we shouldn't assume what we see in the video is final. Yeah, in my question about the Engwithan Titan not looking as impressive as it did in the fig update, he said that it's still a work in progress as there were some things not working correctly at that time. Well, you aren't forced to choose those dialogue options and there's a difference between 'we can't do it' as in it's not possible, to 'we won't' as in they aren't doing that for various reasons. As for the drinking alcohol midfight, you might be happy with the nalpazca monk subclass which increases consumable duration, though wound threshold increases. Also, the fact that there will be loads of ships, including some secret ones, is pretty cool.
  8. Thanks, and thanks to fereed. Also, Josh is colorblind, didn't know that.
  9. Ondra's godlike are the already-existing Moon Godlike, no? Currently, yes, but his godlike form appears to be some sort of sea godlike and who's the god of the sea? Ondra. Also, I had asked on another thread (one of the fig update threads) if moon godlikes have fin thingies on their arms and the dev said no. So, we know that he is NOT a moon godlike. He could also be a variant of nature godlike which is adapted to the sea. We know he's a godlike, just not what kind. Heck, his quest might involve finding out the nature of his godlike form.
  10. Takehu can be either druid or chanter from the start, right? Unless they give him some spells that regular druids don't have, I don't really see any need for him to have an unique subclass. His unique Ondra godlike form, we can call it Sea/Ocean/Water godlike, will certainly have some unique abilities.
  11. I wonder if that is a specific weapon class or just one weapon and ONLY that weapon, kind of like a soulbound weapon. Probably only for those companions who are locked into a single class. It makes less sense for someone like Eder, who take level 1 as either a Fighter or Rogue, to have a custom class designed for either of those. Only Pallegina, Aloth, and Maia are the ones locked into a single class at level one, they can freely multiclass after that. Pallegina already has her Vailian paladin order (unless she goes to Kind Wayfarers via one of her endings), and maybe Aloth could have a unique subclass based on which of the two paths he ends up with.
  12. If you don't complete her quest, it's not clear what she does as far as her paladin order because she got cast out, but doesn't join some other order. Maybe in that case, she never joins you?
  13. I've decided to wait until there is a transcript out, sucks to be hard of hearing, and too bad Twitch doesn't have some sort of live caption thing.
  14. A thought going off of zacktly (yes, I know I've asked a bunch already), will we be able to rename the grimoires in our inventory? I thought it a bit strange that we couldn't rename the grimoires since we can only have so many spells in one grimoire and it seemed like an obvious thing to be able to rename the grimoires.
  15. That would be too much abstraction for my taste. When you're in combat, you should have only limited access to any inventory. Pretty sure moving anything in/out of inventory or quick slots or worn items is locked while in combat. The question is about while out of combat.
  16. I assume you're referring to the stuff with Ukraine? That was at Paul Manafort However, I'm gonna note that there is no such crime called collusion, but there are crimes that involve collusion. Sure, a lot of what Clinton and the DNC did was shady, but did they break a law? I don't know, I'm not a lawyer. What Trump and co. did rises to another level entirely. Also, the Ukraine thing was entirely on their own prerogative. As for why the same standards aren't placed on Democrats, politics and partianship, unfortunately. It's the same kind of hypocrisy that Republicans would be screaming bloody murder if Clinton did the same thing Trump is doing now, and yet they aren't at Trump, a Republican.
  17. I've never played Dragon Age, so, I can't compare it from personal experience. For the inventory, I looked back at the E3 vid and I see what you mean. Nothing's been said or explained as far as that goes I believe, but you could put the question up on the thread for the Q&A twitch stream that's later today, http://forums.obsidian.net/topic/93020-deadfire-qa-twitch-stream-july-12th/ , or ask during the twitch stream.
  18. 1 & 2: Given that it's still pre-alpha (as stated in the E3 vid), I assume that it's still a work in progress. The titan's death also seemed rather unspectactular to me, compared to the way it was described in the fig update that showed concept art of it. 3: What are you confused about with the inventory system? It's not all that different from PoE1, just more streamlined and tried to make it more accessable. For the health, the way I understand it is that instead of the short term endurance and long term health damage, there is the single metric which has health that recovers after combat. In place of the long term system is that over time and/or when you get KO'd, you get wounds, which are only removeable via rest. I don't think we (besides the devs that is) know the deeper details of how it all works yet.
  19. Someone saying 'hey, I like you! I endorse you!' isn't collusion, it's equivalent to saying 'Im a fan of your's, good luck!'. There's nothing material about it or anything of value. Nobody (well, besides some Bernie supporters maybe) complained when other leaders got behind Clinton, nobody complained about Farage and Geert Wilders supporting Trump either. Most of the time though, they generally stay out of it. If people feel like that is collusion in the 'please butt out' sense, fine, but that's not the legal definition.
  20. Yeah, I suppose spellblade is more 'subtle' while battlemage is more 'aggro'. I don't have a problem with rogue/wizard being spellblade, and there's plenty of self affecting spells which would benefit a rogue quite well. However, there don't seem to be any spells in PoE1 that directly affect weapons, as you might expect from a class named spellblade. I recall that Obsidian is doing some stuff with the wizard spells (besides the vfx and expected balancing), so, there may be more spells that we don't have in PoE1 and some properties may be changed as well.
  21. A few multiclass names got revealed: Though spellblade could also fit with wizard/fighter. Also this tweet: https://twitter.com/jesawyer/status/884818321681534977 "serafen frenzy-ing, unloading two pistols, then switching to sabre and hand mortar, ftw #deadfire" Serafen must be quite the damage dealer, heh.
  22. If we have Korgrak, he could be a potential liason with other Ogre tribes in the deadfire. Though he'd be pretty miserable on the small ship that we get at the start, tiny, can't go inside if he wished to....
