  1. You can always turn the game music off and supply your own music.
  2. It doesn't even need to be high tech, just people observing the sky for a long time with their own eyes and writing things down and figuring things out will do it. Remember, they're also some of the best mathematicians on Eora. Real world analogies would be the ancient Maya, Mesopotamia (Sumerians, Babylonians, others), Chinese. Even Stonehenge would have needed quite a bit of observation (and passed down knowledge) to set it up the way they did. As for wizards and druids, I guess there would be some interested in astronomy, depends on the individuals interests.
  3. Oh yeah, I can imagine the shapeshift focused druid/monk would be pretty strong since both rely on unarmed fighting and would reinforce each other. As for the ranger, there is a subclass (Ghost Heart) where the pet is a summonable creature, so, petless (as close as it gets to that anyway) ranger multiclasses are possible.
  4. I suppose the druid spells 'insect swarm' and 'infestation of maggots' might be nerfed some. Sure, they're awesome when you're using it, but downright nasty when it hits you and your party.
  5. Sail health due to hurricane damage I presume. Looks like random sea borne events will have noticeable effects on our ship and will probably slow our sailing speed considerably. I therefore infer that sailing too and from places in a timely matter will be important. Battle damage as well, and general wear and tear probably. Not sure how long period sails generally lasted before needing repairs though. Also spare sail canvas.
  6. lol okay Guess it was a bit hard to tell.
  7. New to Pillars...curious what armor you are wearing that leaves you bare chested in that last pic? I believe that's the 'monks rainments' (name might be wrong) that you get off of that Aumaua monk's corpse near the end of the quest at the Fallen Moon temple. Which is part of the White March expansion.
  8. 2:25-2:30 There is a non-hostile imp (at least that's what I think it is, could also be a really big flying fox), would be cool to have one of those as a pet. 3:12-3:17 I notice that in each of those alcoves in the baths (two on the bench, one is on the floor in the middle), there is a figure (two are female, one is indeterminate) with strange metallic looking skin. I wonder who those are. I'm undecided if they're constructs like sex-bots (but I don't think Obsidian would neccesarily go THERE, and it's a bathhouse, not a whorehouse), some sort of godlike, or something else.
  9. Took a look and it looks like only the player character and companions (plus other allies) have theirs show up while the ones for the enemy only show up on mouseover. Pretty good chance that there will be some sort of toggle for it in the UI settings or a hotkey.
  10. Looked like they were just showing how it works, and she wasn't even in sneak mode. Plus, if she had moved to one corner, she'd be outside the hearing range. Maybe the watermill isn't always on? It does seem rather silly to have the chairs and tables there. Nice spot to get a bit of a soak on a hot day though.
  11. It was actually noticed in the E3 vid, though it wasn't entirely clear if that actually was the case.
  12. I hope that seedy underbelly of Neketaka has a Mos Espa Cantina-like bar or inn, because I instantly thought of 'hive of scum and villany' when they said that you never really know if that figure in the shadows will help you or shiv you in the back. The whole thing sounds really awesome. Also, we see Tekehu for the first time, though you can't see him very well.
  13. You could ask on Josh Sawyer's tumblr blog, no guarantee that he will answer and I'm not sure how long you'd have to wait. He does answer several per week though.
  14. Lol the antics with Aloth. I'd probably do something more pranky like binding web or something that doesn't do any actual damage. Though I guess if Aloth is feeling mean, he can just use fireball. Also, Tekehu is in the party in that vid, though we can't see him very well. And, that seedy underworld sounds like the perfect kind of place for the rogueish monk character that I have. The whole thing sounds awesome and highly interactable.
  15. Actually, I had asked a question to the devs (I forget what thread though) about Moon godlikes having fin thingies on their forearms and they said no, which rules out Tekehu being a variant of Moon godlike. Still, that's some interesting speculation with godlikes having varying appearances. The only thing stopping Obsidian from doing that is time and money.
  16. Consider that this time ships are the core travel mechanic, whereas the Stronghold content was optional. Hence I'd expect more development of the ship-based content. Yep, as I mentioned in your thread daven, the stronghold concept got completely redone and your ship is the base of operations for the game.
  17. The official map off of the wiki would probably be more interesting to use than the ingame one. Includes all of the ingame locations and much more. I'm sure you can crop it if you wanted to. As for scale, the whole pictured area is roughly the size of Spain.
  18. 2. Zooming in and out sounds like it'd be a needed feature for the worldmap in PoE2, so, I'm pretty sure it'll have different zoom levels. 6. I've had that with those going around the peremiter of battle trying to get to an inaccessable target while there is an accessable target, so, I know what you mean. As for PoE2, I've read and heard that the pathfinding is supposed to be better and/or looks better. You can look at the E3 vid to see if it looks better, combat stuff starts at 3:45. 8. The stronghold base concept has been completely redone. Instead of having a static base, we'll have a ship as our base of operations, complete with everything you'd expect a ship to have. The E3 vid deep dive I linked shows some of the ship stuff and fig update 16 talks about it in some detail. As for your specific concern, no idea, but considering how it's changed, that stronghold turn thing might not exist anymore. edit: Actually, since they're doing CYOAs for ship related events, it's highly likely it doesn't exist anymore.
  19. Given that Josh Sawyer is a cat lover, I'm surprised that there aren't more cats there. Also, no parrots? edit: Given the beagle, I wonder if we'll see the cloak of the fox and hunter again, or something similar to it. edit2: Found the actual name of the item I was thinking of.
  20. The interaction between Pallegina and Tekehu should be interesting, since they're both godlikes.
  21. And still voting. Though I voted 'other' as I didn't really have any opinion on which item or any preference. I think the deadline for making the ideas has already passed anyway.
  22. If it's possible to reskin it that is. Also, something I had forgotten earlier, Josh Sawyer himself has said that there won't be any new player-accessible ranger pets (or druid shapeshifts).
  23. Not to utterly shoot down the suggestion, but wolves are already available as companions and dogs are just highly domesticated (and altered) wolves.
  24. Hopefuly the ship crew stuff in Deadfire is more useful as you've got actual roles to fill in, and there will even be interactions with the crew via CYOAs. While you can't interact with the hirelings in any meaningful way.
  25. By the time I get to mid-game, I'm pretty flush in cash from selling off loot, so, I haven't had that much of a problem. Though I guess it may vary by game difficulty, don't know.
