  1. Agreed. If I want computer nudity I watch Porn on my phone. This is probably going to seem like painting the gaming community in the bad light but when I think nudity in games, I think sexual nudity. This isn't really because of my experience in games with nudity (played plenty of stealth games where you take people's clothing to disguise yourself) but more based on forums where members ask for nudity for the porn factor - specifically Steam forums where members get into specifics of what they want to see and complaining about censorship. For me, personally I don't mind nudity, it's a thing in movies, games and even real life that we cannot avoid (married couples will be nude together in beginning of their marriage and years down the road). So I'm not one to care much either way. Visual Novels have scared my thought of nudity forums in games forums so the issue is probably with me. These old eyes have seen alot, which cannot be unseen.
  2. Chaotic Evil? I think the darkest on the scale we'll see is chaotic neutral. Maybe I'll be surprised though.
  3. Okay, I thought it was going to be something like nudity as in drawings the style of the portraits for scenes (since it likely won't be 3D rendering) but what you guys say makes more sense.
  4. Agreed. Hand-crafted has always been better, the only way I can think of random or proceedural generation being better is replayability but something gets lost in translation. Hand-crafted has soul, random/proceedural doesn't. For awhile indie devs were really pushing randoma and proceedural generation but lately - especially after Hollow Knight recieved popularity, they've been going back to hand-crafted.
  5. It really does look quite good The updates do a good job at highlighting the biggest features while leaving you wanting more. It can be almost addicting. Oh and... Welcome to the forums!
  6. So lucky, I want both of those and plane to get them whem the price drops.
  7. If you’re offended, don’t play. What about my comment makes you think I'm offended? For crying out loud, I play Witcher games lol I'm not offended or sensitive, I just don't see how nudity would benefit this game specifically is all.
  8. That's how I like it! Thing that sucks about funded projects is that so much is shared before release and even if you don't follow the updates, you still hear things. I like to be surprised and hope that Obsidian's next game is not a funded one.
  9. Romantic pirates are a different type of beast to traditional pirate. I think you can be both in the game if memory serves me, you can travel from port to port seducing npc's. ^All this can be achieved if that is your desire.
  10. I must be one of the only ones that thinks the Deafire featuring nudity will not in any way enhance or benefit the game?
  11. By all means, block away kids! If you haven't noticed by now, I'm not here for you or to make friends.
  12. I'm hoping they will take a break from crowd-funding. It's nice to be surprised and not be on the edge of my seat with backer updates. But yeah, a sci-fi game would be cool.
  13. Darren Korb and Ashley Barret is so ahead of the curve when it comes to rpg ost that I don't even think of their material as video game soundtrack but as actual artist soundtrack. There's nothing in the industry that's on that level, maybe that's because rpg's are mainly orcestra and Supergiant's stuff is written, composed and sang all by the artists themselves. Darren Korb is only "ahead of the curve" in whatever fantasy 2004 he still inhabits where post-rock is still the bee's knees. By the time Transistor came out his approach was so old-hat and ham-fisted it had me merely sighing in exasperation at its own pretentions of artistry, driven further by the August Rush syndrome running throughout the game where this complete personality void of a singer warbles across these generic, hook-less post-rock tracks and we the players are supposed to accept that as proof of her "genius". Ugh. His work on Bastion is better, but yeah, "ahead of the curve" he ain't. I don't even know what "actual artist soundtrack" is meant to mean. No, Darren Korb's genre is actually acoustic folk-rock. Darren reads the game's novel, writes the music and then they record the music in a bedroom closet. This is said in the concert video. It's explained in a another video that Supergiant then adds the effects or has them re-record it with effects to suit their games. When I see another artist in the industry with another kind of superior writing which can translate to any type of genre on developer's command I will have to admit that he's not ahead of the curve. As a musician myself, it's nice to see someone who's written compositions can be so versatile to adapt to blues, chillpop, rock, etc. By the way, if you're wondering what tuning August Rush was, it's open D on guitar. Darren Korb plays in stardard E and when he tunes down, it's standard D align. Adaptability is key to genius even moreso than perfect writing, sometimes even skill. So he's an "acoustic folk-rock" artist who can play his guitar on different tunings and can adapt to different genres. And does some research on his videogames. He's so ahead of his time. Far as I'm concerned this means very little to the point I highlighted. Maybe I'm missing the mark here but when someone tells me an artist is "ahead of his time" (beyond the fact that using this in a present-day context in which future musical currents are uncertain is absolutely ridiculous), you usually refer to an artist's innovation, ability to set trends or prescience for future musical currents. Being a diverse artist, while a positive trait in and of itself, is not something I necessarily associate with the term "ahead of its time" - Silver Apples, a band I'd very well deem "ahead of their time" basically worked with a single, very focused style of music and only barely strayed from that 'shtick' through their two albums, yet in that style they were massive pioneers and influencers for electronic music to come (as well as krautrock and so on). Darren Korb's work, while nice and capable at times, doesn't seem to show to me any such quality that would deem him an artist "ahead of its time". That he's able to work on a bunch of styles and adapt to what the developer wants him to do only tells me that he works well as part of a team or by commission, but it hardly tells me how he performs within each style (of which I have my doubts about, as I expressed before) or what he's doing to achieve some "actual artist soundtrack" status over anyone else, however one may define that. Anyhow, dunno why I even waste my time. I guess I have too much of it or something. Gah. With respect, not sure if you read my whole comment but it's not that he plays guitar and writes songs that makes him ahead of his time. The reason why Darren Korb and Supergiant is ahead of their time within the industry of video game soundtrack is because they're the only one who have taken the extra effort and care to give players something which nobody else with.... which is offering different versions of lore songs based on what story choices you make. It has nothing to do with content, tuning or genre. In other words, he's ahead of his time because he game music is doing something that nobody else has ever done or still not even doing. If you can prove me wrong, I'd be delighted to admit a fault in my saying so. Your ending song is different from someone else's song, maybe this isn't important to you but it's still something that should be praised and thought highly on especially when AAA titles haven't even thought to do such a thing.
  14. My guess is 7 or 8 total, that is what my gut tells me. Btw, welcome to the forums! Hopefully we don't scare you off!
  15. I encourage you to block me if you do not like my comments or have an issue with me. You have that freedom I know some wish me to disappear but unfortunately that's never going to happen.
  16. Last time I was on Twitch there was a 24/7 Deadfire stream in which the author hosted other users playing Deadfire beta. That was pretty nifty But I haven't been on Twitch in forever due to getting new phone.
  17. My favorite out of which you mention was Planecape Torment and that is probably only because it dared to push boundries in what was allowed on gaming whether it was about death or love, (shock value) making it unique among any rpg sub-genre. The others were generally pale in comparison if I were being honest. None of the games had terribly great writing, despite nostalgic fans crediting BG2 and PST having some if the greatest stories of all time.Given what I've seen you credit as "great writing" in the past, I'll take this as high praise. So, as I thought, resort to petty insults because there's no argument. By the way, can you tell me what I've credited as good writing and how I'm wrong I would discuss the matter in further detail if I thought it was worth the discussion, i.e. if I thought you were seriously defending the argument and not whoring for attention by means of posting deliberately incendiary and contrarian arguments (which are likewise rife of false assumptions, incorrect terminology, blanket statements and so on), and then acting like you're the victim of a spiteful board when called upon these. Your shtick runs very thin very fast. You mean you would discuss the argument further if you could actually back up your claims about my personal preference. You're either assuming or intentionally making up stuff and me asking where you got the info isn't trolling or whoring for attention. You tried to insult me by saying that my choice of games which represents sexual companionship or storylines is lesser than what you want in a game. I simply asked you where I've ever talked about this and you couldn't answer. It's an easy cop-out but like I said, there are 2D platformers now with just as good wtiting as the sacred "Crpg's" of the lost generation, this isn't meant to insult anyone's favorite titles but I leave it to forums to be bothered by such small things.
  18. My uneducated guess is "If they are not working on it or addressing it now, they will after launch when they get more feedback."
  19. Yeah, the second paragraph was supposed to say Heterosexual lol
  20. Darren Korb is most definitely ahead of the anyone else in the industry, even if you could name me an artist which has the type of versatility of writing, the fact is that nobody else has experimented with story-telling in/through the game's ost. If you haven't played Transistor or Pyre than you probably have no idea of what I'm talking about but Supergiant's games are the only ones to have relative lore of the gam in their ost. The closest thing we could say is Skyrim's Dragonborn song but that's not what I'm talking about. You probably wouldn't know or accept that their are seven variations of a few of Transistors and Pyre's songs and the version you get is based on your choices. So that's what I'm getting at here. Nobody else has done that in the industry.

  22. You're 100% right. There is no rpg or game in general (that we know if right now) which forces you into a homosexual relationship, if it dies, it always makes sure to say so in the description to let players know exactly what they're getting into. And like you said, the devs are pretty loud about it. There have always been rpg's and games in general which force you into a heteroexual relationship though. A bit strange when you think about it, since homosexuality isn't anymore accepted as it was years ago when gaming industry first kicked off. Very interesting indeed.
