what frightens you most?
I have a wasp phobia. I also have a mild fear of heights and a mild fear of wide open spaces, and when I'm high up in an open space (say, on top of a mountain) I freak out a bit. But those are little things. What I'm really afraid of is sleep paralysis. There was a TV show or a movie I saw a long time ago, I can't remember much about it except it featured a guy who goes into a coma and everybody thinks he's dead, but he's fully conscious but unable to communicate or move. That freaked me out. So when I experienced sleep paralysis, it really ****ed me up. It's a really rare occurence, though, and it doesn't last for more than a few seconds (they feel like minutes, though)

The greatest band on planet Earth is back!
Back and then gone. (Actually, they're going on a UK tour now, IIRC) And just to clarify, I was being kinda sarcastic earlier. Peter Gabriel > Phil Collins.

What are you playing now?
Playing Indigo Prophecy again. Fun, but I'm dreading the inevitable descent into nonsense. Good to get friends into, and relive your initial disappointment over and over. What's the status of that new Quantic Dream project, again?

Does a candidate's religion matter more than the issues?
When JFK was running for president, a lot of people thought he would lose because he was a catholic, and there was even some libel being thrown around that he would be the first president to ever swear allegiance to something other than the country he was running (in this case, the papacy) but the sky didn't fall when he got elected and the pope didn't run the government. I don't give much of a **** where somebody is on Sunday morning, or if they pray five times a day, or refuse to eat pork. I do give a **** if they bend the law such that such things were required of the populace. I would also give a **** if they bent the law such that such things were prohibited. In the modern nation-state the law is God, and the law's chosen people are those who obey it. So long as an elected official recognizes this, I cannot object to his holding office on the grounds of his religion. Furthermore, atheists are just as capable of bad judgement and horrendous wrongdoing as any other group. Atheist Russia under Stalin or China under Mao were just as terrible as any unified Christian or Muslim or Jewish state could be. I would not support an atheist candidate because of his atheism. I would support him on his policies.

NWN2: Forumite Impressions
I believe one of the first mods released for NWN2 addressed that. Look it up in the Vault.

Congessional Hearing on Global Warming Cancelled Due to Snowstorm
Does "global warming" imply cold weather to an expert? Warming in some places, cooling on other places. Makes sense if you've studied metereology or climate change in general, even cursorily, but at this point it's a shapeless menace to most people, if that. But they don't call it "global cooling".

Congessional Hearing on Global Warming Cancelled Due to Snowstorm
Even if they were, the irony would be lost on most people as "global warming" doesn't imply cold weather to a layperson. That's why they don't call it "global warming" anymore, but use the term "climate change" instead.

What are you playing now?
Directed by this fine man I'm sure. Boll wants to, obviously, but Hideo Kojima has explicitly stated that Uwe Boll will never come within a mile of the project. That having been said, some of the names attached to the project even at this early stage are not encouraging. I think one of the producers is the big name behind Ghost Rider. Metal Gear Solid is a good game, but it'd make a **** movie. Unless it's an anime, in which case villains taking a breather before a fight to explain their traumatizing childhood and tragic, tragic losses would be normal or even desired.

Baldur's Gate - whole series for ten quid
That was the reason I went out and bought C&C The First Decade. It's just so much easier to have everything on that one disc instead of having to go hunting through your collection for that one disc you are missing. It's a good idea, but as I remember the C&C set suffered a bit due to the older games making a rocky transition to XP. I'm assuming that wouldn't be the case with BG.

'Doomsday' Vault Unveiled
She has gonadal dysgenesis, meaning she has testes where her ovaries would be, but everything else down there is normal woman stuff. However, it makes her barren. That's why all of her kids are adopted. It's a genetic thing, much more common than the fabled simultaneous hermaphroditism, which is on the other end of the spectrum. They also tend to grow abnormally. It's speculated that an uncommon number of supermodels are genetic hermaphrodites.

Supreme Commander the Demo
The reqs are pretty steep. I haven't had the opportunity to try it out, but the impression I've gotten from the few people I know who've played the demo is one of disappointment. But that's to be expected, what with all the hype coming off of TA.

An Awesome part of Wikipedia
It's fun to track all the Wiki-trolling. I wonder how many times a day they have to remove "murder" from the abortion page.
