What is it with you people and Full Throttle? I want answers.

@ Wistrik - Did you have any mods in place before you patched? I had a pretty minor expanded deity list mod that I implemented before patching to 1.3, which is the patch that added those 3 buttons. Instead of getting no text explaining the buttons, I got text describing different racial pantheons. So maybe the broken buttons have a conflict with custom content. You should try rolling back the patch, removing the mods, patching again, then modding again, but I think that it's not a big enough deal to justify that kind of effort.

I'm playing the Godfather game on the 360. Despite its obvious debt to GTA, and the fact that it's an EA game, it's surprisingly good. The "fill in the blanks" approach it takes to the plot of the movie is generally creative and smart. Fun gameplay, too. One of the best sandbox games I've ever played. One gripe, though: There is some token parallel story that has nothing to do with the movie, that of your character gaining a love interest, and it doesn't hold up nearly as well as the movie plot, which I guess is to be expected. What's frustrating is that it would be a good, dramatic story arc if the characters had any personality at all, but they don't. Your character is basically the guy from GTA3, a fixer with no affect, but this time it's not a joke. In fact, all the characters that aren't in the movie suck. Oh well. I'm having fun taking over 1940's New York anyway.

Food and / or first aid kits can fix anything. Doesn't matter if you've suffered third degree burns or you've taken two barrels of buckshot to the gut, find that little red cross and you're ready to kick some ass in no time.

If you hate it so much I'll buy it from you I like it just where it is. It doesn't get used, but when I have people over they say "oh wow, a Wii" and they think I'm some sort of gaming noncomformist or someone who likes simple, ****ty minigame games, when in fact I am neither of those things. And it makes a great paperweight. I keep a mac around my basement for the same reason. People who like advertising generally respect me more for possessing these things. But mostly I keep it because I'm the only person in my circle of friends who has one, and they all love Zelda, and I don't. So I got Zelda game for the sole purpose of denying them access to it. Once every week or so they get to play it, but I enjoy wielding that kind of power over them.

The Monkey Island dueling system was pretty good, as I recall. All the insults were written by Orson Scott Card (one of the few good things he ever did!) I had a good run. Better than the Simpsons.

Anything that has a WoW guild devoted to it has jumped the shark. Raiding has jumped the shark, trolling has jumped the shark, cybersex has jumped the shark. Is this some kind of meta-commentary on WoW? Is it benign trolling? What exactly will they be doing? This is only slightly more cool than if he decided to make Monkey Island-themed Halo machinima.

They really should have let somebody know beforehand before leaving **** around, and they could have put the ads on private property where this stuff wouldn't be an issue, especially not on landmarks. I'm less annoyed by Boston's concern as I am annoyed at Adult Swim's use of lame "street advertising" bull****. I don't care how hip leaving lite brites around town makes you. Get a ****ing billboard.

Just a bit in need o' clarification: Do you have to approve friends via email, ala forum registration confirmations, or do you do it here, on the board? I got an email about somebody wanting to be my friend, trashed it (probably something I shouldn't have done) and then came here to approve / deny / whatever. But there was nothing here about friends. Maybe they just cancelled.

I'm digging it. Looks like there's an unitilized blog feature as well. But it seems that the transition has caused every thread on the forum to be "new" again. Minor thing, I know, but slightly irritating. Now all we need is an Alien forum hop to it!
